They packed everything incredibly well with a list of everything they packed. They were accessible by phone. They placed everything within the home where I wanted it. There was one issue with a missing piece but they stayed with it and made sure it was returned. I really liked that they are based out of downtown Los Angeles which worked well for me.
Description of Work: Elite Moving Systems moved me from Los Angeles to Albuquerque NM.

8-31-10 T No delivery to WA 9-5-10 VISA account was charged $839.77, but no delivery! Calls from Eric; he thought delivery had been made on Sat. 9-5; he was very sorry about the premature charge to my VISA card. A refund check of $31.00 for a week’s worth of lateness issued to me. No one had been able to track the whereabouts of the “mystery truck.” Messages from Eric explaining the delay: truck broke down in Portland, Ore. Another truck had been dispatched to finish the job. 9-12-10 Sun. Another $31.00 check mailed to me for most goods finally delivered. Gina confirmed that, surprise, the surreptitiously bundled heirloom Oriental tea table and brand new vacuum cleaner were missing; so noted by the delivery driver, whose behavior made my daughter feel very uncomfortable. Fortunately, a friend had arrived to help her unpack. 9-13-10 She discovered digital recorder and camera were missing, too. Things were up for grabs the minute they left my sight until a whole three weeks later! That’s enough time to drive to the East Coast and back…..and again, and again, according to my sources. Reality check, my items would never resurface and were in the hands of misguided minions. 9-18-10, Sat Phoned Curtis Enay to report my loses and alert the claims dept. 9-21-10 Typed a list of missing items: the Oriental tea table, upright vacuum cleaner, which had been itemized; I made mention of the dented bicycle, but with no photo of the bicycle before the move, how could I claim damages after the fact? I could not claim the digital camera or recorder either because I had not itemized them. 9-21-10, T Phoned Curtis. He suggested I email him my list of concerns. 9-24-10 F Melanie had not received said email from Curtis. Curtis fell fall short of any attentiveness/assurance to help with and I quote, “anything I needed.” Mr. Baseball graduated from sitting on a bench in a dugout to sitting at a desk in an office. Go Bruins! 9-27-10 Melanie requested photos of any damaged goods; I would need to send an affidavit listing missing items to expect compensation for anything per said agreed upon insurance claim; only those items which had been itemized prior to the move. 11-5-10 Procuring my paperwork, moving docs had been delayed; she could do nothing without them. Compensation in the amount of $33.00 is the total outcome of all this chaos according to my chosen insurance plan and the American Movers Association. Although the amount of compensation you gave me is within the legal constraints of insurance coverage, Opt 2, it is hardly adequate. You charged me $777.77, minus, the $33.00 of “full and final compensation.” By the time I replaced vacuum cleaner, digital camera and recorder, and bicycle repairs, I paid more for this move than competitors would have ever charged me, plus, I am forever missing an irreplaceable, Oriental heirloom. No insurance plan can protect you from thugs and thieves. This “move” is a shining example of an extremely unhealthy, stressful, unprofessional predicament caused by unscrupulous actions of others. Elite Moving Specialists, MY A**!!!!!!1 As I try to put this nightmare behind me, I plan to blog, twitter, yelp, email, Angie’s list it, and facebook everyone I know and anyone I don’t know to “Let the students starve”!!!!
Description of Work: March 15, 2011 Elite Moving Systems, Inc alias Starving Students 626 E 62nd Street LA, CA 90001 If you read no further, please heed my warning, “Hire any other company to handle your move.” This co.’s well-planned scam is to load a huge truck, park it, ransack it, and tell customers that their possessions were “lost” in transit. I have moved 3 children to 3 separate locales since this fiasco and I chose the company who delivers the pod or cube or van/truck to U. You then load it, they seal and send it (without delays and untouched by anyone else), and U unload it without any hassles; well worth the few extra dollars. Their assignment was to deliver items to Seattle, WA. 8-24-10 T Pickup date. Thirty sealed boxes, approx.10 larger, unboxed items, noted on inventory list; signed, sealed, but, not entirely delivered. New address affixed to every item. The tagged vacuum cleaner and the tagged Oriental tea table had been wrapped each in their own carpet, but not secured, and now both pieces were totally undetectable as to what each item had been and to whom each item had belonged, even though they had been clearly itemized. *note that I refer to these items in the past tense. I, naively, chose insurance option 2, which is 60 cents per lb. on items “lost”. I did not take any pictures of possessions, the movers, or the truck and license plate, or anything!
