Provider used factory rebuilt engine, per customer order, within original estimate for parts and labor. Job done in a timely manner and only one return to shop for unusual noise in engine. Noise was eliminated and vehicle was ready for service in one day following warranty service. The replacement engine runs better than original engine when vehicle was purchased in 1986. Original engine provided reliable service for 232,420 miles. Chevrolet builds tough trucks. I've always been a Chevy man.

I had taken my car to Jiffy-Lube for a routine oil change. They refused to do it, explaining that there was a problem with a gasket that they didn't want to take a risk on (and good for them). So I took my car to Paradise; Chevrolet being the closest thing to a Saturn dealers; I figured that if they couldn't come up with the proper gasket, it wasn't available.
The service writer (who didn't inspect the car himself) explained that while it might be as simple as a seal, the problem might be rather more complicated and expensive. And, though I had an appointment, they wouldn't be able to get to it right away.
They shuttled me home (the service extends, I believe, as far as Camarillo and Stanley Avenue in Ventura), and picked me up when the repair was done. Turns out it was just the gasket, which cost pretty close to nothing -- I'm sure at least some other garages might have taken advantage of the situation. (and they had phoned me with an estimate). The lube and oil change cost a couple bucks more than they would have at Jiffy Lube, but it was money happily spent.
