They were very quick, and polite. When painters later punctured the recently repaired flat roof, Gates Roofing repaired it again for no additional charge.

The experience was great. They were not the lowest bid, but the additional cost was worth it for the speed, professionalism, and cleanliness. They even laid down plastic in the attic before the tear off to keep debris out of the insulation. The tear off took about 6 hours and the install was completed in 3 days. This is a one story home, built in 1965, with eaves and an addition. House square footage runs about 2150 with the roof square footage at approximately 2400 sq feet. If I ever need a roof on another house, I will call Gates Roofing, first. Very satisfied. Thanks!

They were professional at all times. They cleaned up totally at the end of each day as well as at the end of the job.

Shane came to the house and looked over the job, left samples and gave me a bid within a few days. We negotiated a little and agreed to the job. Shane and his crew started on Monday and finished on Wednesday afternoon with he and his brother Shawn doing the work with a couple of helpers. My wife and I are very pleased with the fast work, quality of the work and they're very good attitude. My recommendation for the Gates brothers and their work is the highest that I can give. I think we have the best looking roof in the neighborhood done by some great guys. They're the best!

Man, Shane and his crew was awesome. The tear-off guys were quick and I was particularly impressed by their cleanup. Shane and his team started the roof the next morning. They were efficient and friendly. Gates Roofing came in right on target with the bid even with miscellaneous extras and add-ons. I will certainly be recommending Gates Roofing to anyone who requires such services. Shane's brother, Sean, is also part of the crew and does siding. I will be using him to replace some cedar shake siding down the road as we get closer to the end of our project. Again, very pleased and would absolutely hire again... though I don't think that'll be necessary anytime soon with this quality job.

Gates was very professional in every respect. They are a no-nonsense/ get the job done operation. The entire crew worked very hard. I was impressed with how many different things Gates does as a matter of course. They removed all the tile in order to inspect and clean and repair if necessary before replacing the tile. They also made certain the drainage was proper and installed flashing where necessary. They even enlarged a scupper drain because they felt it was inadequate. They cleaned thoroughly before leaving. I was impressed with Gates and would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Shane was amazing with his friendly and professional service. He was able to pin point the leak area and not even charge me for the quick repair. I will use his company in the future if needed and tell my friends about he and his brother.

Fortunately, I made the right choice. Shawn and his twin brother showed up when scheduled and finished the complete tare down, paneling and roofing job before the allotted time (3 days). Our roof looks amazing and we are very pleased.

Because this was a substantial purchase, I was afraid of really getting scammed. I was pleasantly surprised by the estimate (which I assumed would be much higher). Once I signed off on the estimate, everything happened quickly and efficiently. More importantly, these guys were not only professional, but very personable which I think is important. I want to have a rapport with someone that's spending two days atop my house. I want to feel comfortable asking stupid questions and leaving my home for small stretches at a time (while they continue working). Gates Roofing was perfect for me in this respect since I trusted them immediately. I didn't get the pre-rehearsed, stale, robotic, bore-the -a** -off-of-me spiel?thank goodness. I was kept apprised of the scheduling and both days they were on time to the minute. Upon starting the job, it was apparent they were being as courteous as possible in respect to noise and mess. In fact, there was never a stray piece of paper, roofing or anything in the yard at any time. All trash was immediately placed in the trash can. Upon end of day, any and all my questions were answered and I was told what to expect the second and last day of installation. The job was completed as expected with no surprises or last minute cost additions. I paid exactly what was estimated. I was given instructions that a City Inspector would be by to check the roof, but it should not impact me nor my schedule. After leaving, there was nary a sign of them being there except a beautiful new roof. No trampled bushes, no runaway pieces of roofing, not a shred of paper or trash nor a neighbor complaint. I have the utmost faith in the roof, but more importantly I have faith in the Gates brothers and the additional employee that worked on my house. I would recommend in a heart-beat.

The Gates brothers (and their crew) are amazing! They provided an estimate within 2 days of my calling. Our skylight is oversized (the only company that pointed that out), so they price-checked before giving us an estimate (other companies used a standard size price, which is about $700 less - I checked). They were here when they said they would be, worked extra long to finish the job to beat the rain, and cleaned up after themselves (and other contractors who had left a mess). Both brothers are friendly, efficient, and HIGHLY recommended!

All the houses in our development have had chronic roof leaks. I used Gates to fix leaks over the years, which they did at a vey fair price. I had them install skylights for us, and they replaced the underated roofing paper and properly attached the tiles at that time. They did a great job with a very experienced and professional crew.

I removed a fireplace from my home as part of a kitchen remodel. I called Gates Roofing and had them repair the roof where the chimney was removed and add a new roof flashing for my kitchen hood exhaust. They came out on schedule did an excellent job. I will need a new roof in a couple of years and will be calling Gates back for that work.

Proposal was responsive and provided a low cost option to repairing the roof. He readily substituted a bid item for an additional requirement at no added price to the original proposal. Gates coordinated with the tenant of the house directly to coordinate the time and date of both the initial inspection and the roof wok. Work was done quickly, and to my complete satisfaction.

I myself replaced the old 1" x 6" facia with 2" x 6". It took longer than anticipated, and they were able to get to my roof before the rain. I have recommended them to a friend who owns other buildings, and he was also happy. I would definately hire them again.

This job went extremely well - according to schedule and within the time frame as estimated. Gates Roofing is a family run and worked operation. Shane, Shawn, and Kirk are the onsite (meaning right up there on the roof) roofers as well as job managers. Shane is extremely responsive. My call to him was responded to within one day, and our meeting for the estimate / job walk-through was scheduled in less than one week. Our job estimate / walk-through meeting was on a Saturday, which was appreciated as our weekday / workday schedules do not give us much flexibility during the workweek. The feedback on the state of our roof was realistic - we aren't roofers, of course, but we had a fairly good idea of some problem areas on our roof and also knew the removal of so many layers was not necessarily hard, but entails more work. We also appreciated Shane's recommendations, since none were overstated for the age, size, shape and neighborhood of the house. We appreciated his honest responsiveness with questions & answers on venting solutions. We do not have A/C, so as much venting as possible in our attic is a huge plus for the summer months. Shane recommended O'Hagin vents, which are low-profile and blend well with both the roof line and composite material. Job was done in July, and now in August I can tell that they are having a positive effect on keeping the attic, and thus house, cooler due to better airflow. We researched the O'Hagin's after our meeting with Shane, and felt that its Fire and Ice line was a good choice for us because we are close enough to brush to be worried about brush fires, and liked the extra safety (the Fire and Ice have special coating that "...resists the intrusion of flames..." - see its webpage for more detail). Since we had talked with other roofers whilst soliciting bids, we had other suggestions and options that were presented to us. We bounced some of them off of Shane, as well as some ideas we had researched on our own, etc., and received forthright feedback. Once the job started, things went well. The tear-off crew was extremely organized, they were on time, and they were clean. Clean-up was very thorough (i.e., no nails, slats of wood, shingles, who knows what else after 60 years...) left behind. Our antique car in the garage was covered and well protected. We have many plants - including tomatoes which were just starting to show fruit - around the house, and none were damaged. When the roofing part of the job started, again, things went well. The delivery of roofing material was on time, prompt, and non-disruptive to us and our neighbors, and didn't cause other turmoil. The roofing job started and went according to schedule. There was enough material. No emergencies or last minute “surprises”. No rushing to get out by a certain time of day, etc., either. Shane is also well-versed in the local code requirements, i.e., my area requires a minimum 40 years' warranty on a roof. I appreciated that he knew code requirements at our first meeting, and didn't have to go research this, that, and whatever other requirements as action items. Roof looks great, nice and flat, good color scheme for the house/area, and the trim on the eaves is uniform. Other vents, i.e., dryer, water heater, bathroom or kitchen, were painted to match - which I know is standard - but they look good. It is clear personal care and attention was provided to our home. Other bids (4) were within comparable ranges. The quality of our first meeting and subsequent Q&A up until we selected a roofer helped make our decision to use Gates Roofing.

They came out as promised, worked through July 4th, and had the job done in the time they'd estimated. They did a good job, were friendly and competent. The new roof looks great and the I enjoy the new attic vents they installed. I would hire them again.We chose them over several other bids because of their longer guarantee (12 yrs), reasonably close bids to other companies with comparable quality materials, and the larger number of attic vents they proposed.

We were worried about the old roof being removed because of the potential mess from the debris it would leave in our garage. They put plastic over as much as possible and blew it out several times of the remaining debris. They estimated 4 days, but on the 4th day they only needed to be here a few hours. Their estimate was less & included more (vents, longer guarantee) than 2 other bids we received. They were very professional

This was a great company to work with, Shawn is very professional and personable. My first call to the answering machine was returned within 3 hours and a house call was scheduled for the same day. He personally showed me the problem areas that needed to be addressed and then provided a detailed estimate before he left. Once we picked him to do the work, our job was scheduled within a few days. Shawn and his guys were always prompt and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the work day. The job was carefully done without any tiles being broken by the workers. Work did not exceed the estimate and was completed in 4 days as estimated. I would definitely do business with this company again!

I thought they were very reasonable in their pricing and also very quick. They were honest enough to charge me less than the quote when they realized it was not as much work as they thought.
