This was truly one of the best service experiences I have ever had. I called Lerman Appliances based on the reviews on Angie's List. Was able to secure a same day appointment. The technician (Ilya) -- the owner's son -- was punctual and personable. He was able to diagnose the problems and offered clear explanations of the possible causes and solutions for each issue. He had in his truck the oven igniter part that was needed to fix my DCS oven. He was able to clean out the washer drain that was clogged. He found that the refrigerator door was bent and that ordering a new one would be costly and take time. We agreed that this would not make sense for an old refrigerator that I was going to replace any way. He left all work areas clean and was respectful and efficient. I couldn't be happier with this service. I recommend this company wholeheartedly.

After reading the many positive reviews about Lerman Appliances, I contacted them and set an appointment to have my double oven repaired. The entire process went very smoothly. However, despite thinking the oven was repaired, I tried cooking something in it a day later, and the oven was still not functioning properly. While I have no doubt that I could have asked Lerman to come back out, I requested a refund because I did not want to spend any more money on my oven. I asked for a refund, and with no questions asked, Lerman immediately issued a check for a full refund. I appreciated their desire to ensure complete customer satisfaction - it is nice to know there are companies like this one.

They were very easy to get in touch with via email. They were very affordable in terms of getting an initial diagnosis done. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

After having a terrible experience with another appliance repair company who failed to fix the problem with my refrigerator (a cooling defect) over a period of several weeks, I was wary of dealing with another company. Fortunately Lerman was very easy to deal with, punctual and professional. The repairman was able to come the same day that I called, arrived within the scheduled time window, and gave me a honest appraisal of my situation. He was candid about the possibility that it might be better for me in the long run to just purchase a new refrigerator given the likely cost of the repairs, which I appreciated. He seemed very knowledgeable. If it had made sense for me to try to fix my fridge, I would definitely have gone with Lerman. I'd be happy to do business with them again.

They asked for the exact model of the refrigerator before coming out so that they could research the manufacturer's diagrams to make the house diagnosis visit more efficient. Appointment day and time were confirmed and Valeri arrived right on time. He explained what was happening during the diagnosis of the problem, and then the proposed best way to fix it and how much it would cost. After I gave the go-ahead for the actual repair he explained the details as he worked. He was very careful and at the end he double checked some points to confirm the fridge was actually fixed properly. Since I am an Angie's list member he provided a discount. He was very courteous and professional. I am very satisfied and will use Lerman Appliance services again.

If only all service providers were like Lerman, the world would be a better place. I had had a washer installed (by another company) on Friday, and at 10AM on Saturday morning when washing the FIRST LOAD the drain hose popped off and created a minor flood. Fortunately, I was nearby, so didn't suffer much. My first impulse was to call an Angies List referral, and Lerman came up with stellar reviews . I left a message, and got a prompt call back. The gentleman on the phone said that because it was Saturday, he couldn't schedule anybody until 3PM-6PM window. He quoted $65 for the call (because it was a stacking unit). In between the time I called and the time that they arrived, I actually hooked up the hose, and it seemed to be working fine. Nonetheless, I wanted a professional opinion because I didn't want another flood! I also went to Lowes and purchased what seemed to be a better hose.Vitaly showed up at about 3:45, and said that his recommendation would be to change the hose clamp, a $1.00 part. Suggested that I didn't need to use the Lowe's hose, and that I should take it back (That saved me $10!) Switched out the clamp, tested it and we were done within 20 minutes. He then told me that the call would only be $45 because he didn't need to move the laundry stack. Wow...honesty, a novel concept to some...but Lerman was right on. Professional repair at an honest price. Thank you.

I was extremely pleased with their service. He arrived when he said he would, immediately identified the problem, arranged to pick up the needed part, and returned to install it very quickly. I could not be more pleased with this company, and would definitely use them again.

My disabled brother's 11-year-old Kenmore ice maker stopped working. I had been remiss in changing the water filter, so I called Sears to order one, assuming that was the problem. They assured me over the phone that not only did I need a new water filter but I would definitely require a new ice maker as well. They added not to worry, that I could easily replace it myself. That's when I decided to call for service. I have learned through the years that certain things are best left to experts. I didn't want to call Sears, though, as they had told me the estimate call charge would not be applied if they had to come back to do the work. Coincidentally, I had just subscribed to Angie's List to look for another type help. Since I had decided never to use the company who previously serviced my own refrigerator, I looked on Angie's List and chose Lerman Appliances in large part because of the good reviews they had received. I am so glad I did! It turned out Ilya could come almost right away despite the fact I said it was definitely not an emergency. He called and gave me the half hour notice I required in order to go and meet him at my brother's (a request that some large companies find difficult to handle.) He had tried to get a filter, but his supplier didn't have any. He checked out the refrigerator, however, and felt a filter was all I would need to resume making ice. When he had the frig pulled out, he showed me a very tiny leak at the water connection. He recommended a new hose but did so before taking off the old one, giving me the option to leave the situation alone if I wanted. I believe in preventive measures and wanted to avoid any water leaks into the downstairs neighbor's condo. He replaced and charged me only for the hose (a better quality one than the existing.) He said he would come back to replace the filter for me if I wanted but suggested it's an easy task. Since I will be doing this on a regular basis in the future, I chose to follow up myself. To make it easier, he gave me directions including the Whirlpool part number that corresponds to the Kenmore. He also answered other questions I had. I bought and easily replaced the filter. The ice maker was still not working, however, so Ilya came back (again coordinating his arrival with mine.) He took apart and checked the ice maker. He also bled air out of the filter (I should have known to do so, but would you believe there were no directions in the box? Anyway, I know to do that now.) With everything put back, the ice maker filled (what a lovely sound.) No additional charge for the follow-up call, and my brother is now enjoying all the ice he can use. So in a nutshell, the problem was a fairly simple one, but I could have been taken advantage of and sold an ice maker I didn't need. Instead, we went step by step with a young man who was professional, honest, friendly, caring - I could go on and on with complimentary adjectives. I would definitely call Lerman again even without the Angie's List discount. I'm also thrilled with Angie's List for putting us together.

I called this company after seeing an "A" rating for appliance repair on Angie's List. The service tech came out exactly as promised and quickly diagnosed the problem. He had to order the part to repair the machine and rescheduled another appointment in a few days when the part came in. He called a few days later informing me that the part came in and we had him back. He quickly repaired the item. I was very impressed with this company and the service they provided. I would definately call this company for any appliance repair again as they are truly a professional service and very true to their word. They are very polite and courteous as well.

Working with with Lerman Appliances was pleasant and professional from the first phone call. They called me back within an hour or so, did some troubleshooting and analysis over the phone, and I made an appointment for a service call. We'd actually had the same problem about 4 months earlier and had it serviced by another company. Since we were out of warranty anyway with the other company, I decided to go with a different one and chose Lerman based on all the positive reviews on Angie's List. Ilya (son of the owner), who made the service call was very knowledgeable, intelligent and polite, and diagnosed the problem immediately and explained it clearly and in detail to me. I explained that we'd had the same problem before and was in a quandary about whether I should be contacting the previous company that serviced it, and despite it being out of warranty, see if they would stand by their work and give me a break since it shouldn't have broken so soon. Ilya advised me to talk to them, and to see if I could work something out with them. If I ended up going with the other company, I only would've lost $45 dollars for the service call... While I really appreciated his honesty and professionalism, (and was really inclined to just go ahead with the work) I decided I should at least have a discussion with the other company before I decided, and since the part had to be ordered anyway, I wasn't losing any time. In the end, I decided to go with Lerman since the other company didn't offer any flexibility with the warranty (and we just didn't like their attitude.) The part was ordered and Ilya came back and did the work 2 days later. The price was very reasonable (way less than the previous company), and the whole experience was great, from start to finish. I was very skeptical from past experiences with appliance repair companies, and I would definitely highly recommend this company and work with them again.

They had to come out twice, but they got it done and I am satisfied. They were very professional. They gave me a nice warranty.

Quick response, came when he was supposed to, and quickly fixed the washing machine.

Excellent. The technician knew instantly what the problem was & that it was not a burned out bulb as we thought. We had already purchased & replaced 2 bulbs & they wouldn't last for over a day. It turned out to be a 'switch' that is triggered when the frig door is opened. It had worn out. He replaced the part & all the interior lights started working.He also explained how we will be able to tell if a bulb actually does burn out in the future but since there are 4, if the frig goes completely dark then it's the switch, not the bulbs (they won't all burn out at once). Good to know.

Our Kenmore washer had a leak, so I called Sears to schedule service, but they couldn't give me an appointment until six days later. I called Leman, and they gave me an appointment for the next day, along with a detailed explanation of their service charges and how the Angie's List coupon they offer could be applied. The repair man showed up on time, diagnosed the problem immediately, called to see if the part was in stock, called his office to schedule the return service call, and gave me an exact estimate of cost, right there in about 20 minutes. He returned on time, made the repair in about 20 minutes, and left everything clean and in good working order. I would highly recommend this company.

The technician arrived within the time window and was very courteous, knowledgeable and patient. I had already checked with the hotline at Maytag, so I knew roughly what the problem most likely was -- and he confirmed it promptly. He explained the mechanics of the problem and was VERY careful about not making or leaving a mess in the house. We'd had a wonderful appliance repairman who retired and didn't sell his business, so I was apprehensive about using someone new, but I'd trust this company and use them again .

He couldn't pull out the dishwasher because we'd floor-tiled it in! But he did discover out dishwasher was clogged with com plastic that we couldn't see. Since cleaning it out our dishwasher works great again!

I contacted Lerman Applicances through Angie's List and recieved a reply an hour later, set up a time for later that day to look at dryer. The tech was there ahead of scheduled time. He was pleasant, professional. tidy and knowledgeable. Because I had the dryer make and model he was able to stock the necessary part ahead of time. Thus he did not have to make a separate trip. He checked all the items in the dryer to make sure nothing else was wrong. My experience with Lerman Appliances was positive from step one to the finish line.

They did the first service very well at an unexpectedly low price. Second service went well at a reasonable price.

The Lerman's Appliances repairman was on time and very polite and professional. He examined the refridgerator from the back and inside. He explained in detail the possible causes for the problem and the costs for repair. The repairman also reminded me of the rebates being offered by many cities to customers who buy energy star appliances. I confirmed with my city and I am to get an $80 rebate from my city's power company for the energy star refridgerator that I purchased in my city. If I had purchased one outside of my city, the rebate would have been only $60.00. The age of the appliance and extensive work and cost to repair led me to conclude that I should get a new one. I bought a new Kenmore enerygy star refridgerator and I've applied for the $80 rebate from my city's power department. I truly appreciate the repaiman's expertise, honesty and helpfulness .

As in earlier post, I cannot say enough positive things about the Lerman company. both times Mr. Lerman, the father of the business, came. He is skilled, knowledgeable and professional. On both instances he repaired the issues in the appliances. In the case of the washer and dryer, he thought they would work well for a good time to come. With the refrigerator, he felt it was possible that the parts are no longer made - it was a VERY old fridge. And he also said the repair would not be a permanent repair as the part had degenerated. But he got it running again and said he would look for the part. This is like what we wish small towns were like - they are friendly and seem to care what happens, and they are exceptionally competent.

Called on a Monday, spoke to Val one of the three employees (two sons and a father), who was very courteous and efficient. Listened as I described the problems, told me where to find the model numbers on both appliances so the technician could come with the appropriate parts, explained the cost of the service call for each appliance, explaining these would be waived if either appliance was repaired and provided a date 4 days later and a time 12-3pm when the technician would be there. The technician (Vitaly, the father) arrived within 15 minutes of the starting window of the quote. Quickly identified the problems on each appliance (stuck float and blocked air valve on the dishwasher and stripped blower fan on the dryer), provided me a quote for the repair of both, had the parts on his truck. The repair was completed within an hour. Both appliances are working great, i.e. good as new for 15 y/o appliances. The technician who came to the house (Vitaly) was personable, very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained fully the issues, the repair and offered a suggestion for the dishwasher to prevent future re-occurrence.

They fit me in the same day I called, the repairman was on time, fair and professional. I highly recommend them based on my experience. The repairman quickly diagnosed an issue with the motor on my old washer. He explained that he could fix it, but recommended that I considering replacing the washer with a new one. It was a fair and honest recommendation, and not one that necessarily benefitted the repair company. I appreciate that and would definitely call them again the next time.

At around midnight on Friday noticed my kitchen floor was sopping wet and the water was coming from my frig. I couldn't stop the leaking so decided to unplug it. I immediately consulted Angie's list and saw Lerman Appliances was closest to my home. At about 1 am I sent them an email explaining the problem and asking them to contact me on Saturday. At 8 am on Saturday Mr. Lerman himself was calling me, apologizing for calling so early (I was glad he did) and setting up an appointment to see the fridge. Over the phone I explained what was wrong and he immediately analyzed the problem, told me I could plug in the fridge if I disconnected the ice maker to prevent food spoilage. He arrived at my home exactly on time, examined the fridge, told me the problem was the icemaker, gave me an estimate, replaced the ice maker, and we were done. I was very impressed by his timeliness, professionalism, friendliness, and the fact that he came prepared with all of the parts he needed to complete the job. I would definitely recommend Mr. Lerman and would use his services again.

They were great, and we were very happy with them. They were prompt and explained their charges very well. They went over what the strengths and disadvantages of the dishwasher we have were. They explained what they were inclined to do and why they were inclined to do that sort of thing. By the time we were ready to have them do the parts, we felt very comfortable. We had them come one other time for a different problem, and they were equally great. The young guy who came over both times knew what he was doing and was very professional and knowledgeable. The price seemed fair to us; it was not cheap, but it was not out of line either. I think appliances are overly expensive simply because they don?t make them like they used to. They gave us a deal the second time because it was within a month of the previous repair; they knocked off some of the price. We would use them again in the future if necessary.
