When I first called they said it would be the next day before they could come, but then squeezed me in the same day. The serviceman arrived on time. He unloaded my freezer and found the problem quickly. He explained what the problem was and how the system should work. He did not have the part on his truck but said he would try to get it for the next day. He gave me an estimate and gave me the Angie's List discount without me asking. The next day he returned and installed the part. They give a 1 year warranty on the part even though the manufacturer only gives 90 days. There is a 30 day labor warranty. He explained the bill and I paid. The service was very professional and I had no complaints. The reason I gave a B on the price is that I thought that the labor was kind of high for the difficulty of the repair, even though I got a discount. Maybe I am wrong and that is the way prices are now.

I emailed Lerman's via their website (I usually contact vendors via Angie's list but in this case I was checking out their website and the online contact form on their site was convenient). Val promptely replied to my email and provided me with the service fee and estimates once I described the problem (via email). i scheduled an appointment (again via email) and Vitaliy showed up on time and promptly resolved my problem. Very easy from start to finish.

Mr. Lerman arrived on time and is an extremely nice, soft spoken, pleasant and efficient workman. They should all be this way. He asked me to explain the problem and then went to work. In about an hour, the dishwasher and the cooktop were finished. He was quiet as he worked and clean. My cooktop is vintage (1963) and has been well maintained but parts are not readily available and everyone looks at it with dismay or amazement. Mr. Lerman did neither. He just fixed it, telling me that certain pieces weren't available anymore. We live in Los Angeles so I figure everything is available here if you get online and look around. But it was nice of him to be so helpful. The dishwasher motor is going to pass away pretty soon. He said we didn't need a new one now. It would work for awhile and just go along until it dies. I liked hearing that. Mostly, I have to say he was a most efficient pleasant knowledgable person. For the amount of time he was here and the amount of work he did, $100 seems a bit high since the $45 mandatory fee was supposed to be deducted from any work I had done. He did give me the 20% Angie's List deduction. Maybe I'm out of touch with how much repair work costs.

They were just great; dependable, on time and informative. I had other people out here who were just totally wrong so I really appreciated Lerman. They are dependable, reasonably priced and they are trustworthy; you can trust that what they are going to do is the right thing. If anything with their work is wrong they will come back and make it right. They tell what they are going to do, give you the option to use them and do not come up with additional fees.

They did excellent work and were reasonably priced. The service person that came was very confident and explained all the issues very clearly. I wanted to make sure my dryer was safe as I had pulled it out and wanted to make sure the gas line is which they checked. They were very reasonably priced. They were on time and explained the issue very well. They are very honest. I have felt very pressured by others.

The overall satisfaction is very high and I would recommend this company to anyone.

Both my fridge and freezer went out this afternoon, and no more than 2 hrs later a repairman was out (on a Friday evening no less) to take a look. The repairman was knowledgable, helpful, and super up-front and honest about cost and alternative options. He even offered to do the fixes for free, returning the service fee if it didn't work. The fixes did work, and the fridge is running better than ever. A fantastic experience with Lerman, will certainly use them again down the road.

The reason I rated B on professionalism, is the tech wound-up needing to disconnect the water supply line since it was too short to allow him to pull out the dishwasher to work on it. He didn't take anything out of the cupboard and didn't put anything down to catch the water. A lot of water came out and damaged some boxes holding the Magic Eraser sponges. It was a bit of a clean up for me which could have been avoided. He took all the stuff out and used a pan the other time I had hired him.

Lerman sent over their Viking repairman who showed up not only on time, but about 10 minutes early. With both units, the repairman took the time to explain everything he was checking and what the problems were. With the freezer, he explained that I could order the part directly from Viking and install it myself to save the service charge. Wow! A repair person who actually explains to you how to save money by NOT using him. What a nice surprise. With the dishwasher, we were given a good price for repair which was lower than a previous estimate. The repairman also explained easy steps that we could take to elongate the life of our dishwasher. While waiting for the neccessary part to arrive from Viking, our tempramental dishwasher decided to start working again. Lerman received the part before I got a chance to call them and tell them that the dishwasher was working again. They were extremely understanding and didn't ask us to pay a restocking fee. In fact, they offered to hold onto the part for 30 days in case the dishwasher decided to stop working again. Its refreshing (but unfortunately rare) to work with a repair company that has such honesty and integrity. We won't even call around to get estimates next time, we'll just call Lerman.

Lerman was called because of their overall high Angie's List rating. One of the freezer units was icing up and making noise. The repairman from Lerman came out, looked at it and said "very bad". He then told us the things that needed replacing and estimated something around $500 and asked for a deposit check. He took the check and later came back and broke down the freezer and said "very bad" and revised his estimate to over $1,000. We said it did need to be fixed and authorized the work. The same guy came back a few days later and took the freezer apart (made a huge mess) and started literally hammering on one part with a hammer. Sevesal hours later he pronounced "all fixed" was paid around $1,200 and left. The following day the freezer bottom was a solid sheet of ice and the ice-maker did not work. Out came the same guy and removed the freezer door and said "look at this" (pointing to a covering of insulation on the back of the freezer door that activates the fan and freezing mechanism). He tore it off and said "this no good, not right for to be here" (sorry I do not do Russian English very well). He banged things with a hammer and said "all fixed" again. Then his boss came out a week later when we complained. He said "all fixed good" and left. We limped along with one side working (since we had side by side and therefor a spare freezer) and finally called Smith Brothers who came out and fixed it and showed me all the crazy things that Lerman had done to the unit. We literally had to start over and one of the biggest problems was fixing the insulation on the back of the unit that the Lerman man had pronounced "this no good". We should take a small claims court action to get our money back but being able to advise Angie's of our experience was enough satisfaction.

I really didn't believe it was ever going to get fixed because the problem had been going on for so long, even after a new gasket around the freezer was put in. The technician was terrific, told me why the freezer was icing up, what to do to keep in from reoccuring, and showing me how to place packages so that the vents are open and air is circulating properly.I highly recommend Lerman Appliances to anyone with refrigerator problems.

The service technician Serge arrived at my house on time and went straight to the washing machine. After a little while, he explained to us that the problem was the pump. We asked how much it would cost and he said about $308. As my husband and I were trying to decide whether it would be better to just purchase a new washing machine, the technician chimed in with "you can just pay me the $45 service call fee and decide. I can come back Tuesday" and he was being very short with me. I am not sure if it was because of the language barrier. He didn't speak english well. I asked if he could wait a minute for us to decide. We determined a new washing machine would cost over $500 so it would be better to proceed with the repair. The serviceman then asked us to pay him for the part before he went to pick it up. When I asked why I need to pay before the work is done, when goes back into my kitchen and makes a call. I call the office and was informed by the young lady that answers the phone that it's not normal for us to pay for the parts before the work is done. It was standard to ask for the $45 service charge until he returns, which I don't understand either but if thats their policy, fine. The serviceman returned and repaired the washing machine. I then get a call Vitally who basically tried to justify asking me to pay for the part before the services were provided and asking me how he can make it better but basically the serviceman was right to ask. He went on to explain how the check wouldn't be cashed before the parts were purchased. Further to my point, why am I being asked to pay before hand. This is my second time using this company and it will be my last.

This a family business and they are concerned about their reputation and their level of service. There was a misunderstanding as to some pricing on the ice maker repair, but the owner of the company made a specific point to discuss this issue and cleared it up for me to my satisfaction. The diligence and attention to getting it right is impressive and certainly not something you experience on a routine basis with repair companies generally. The "B" rating as to pricing is only because there is some lack of transparency on pricing--it is on a per job basis that is difficult for a consumer to understand whether this is a reasonable for that job. But, given the level of service provided, this is a company that I would certainly use again.

I called Lerman after reading all the positive reviews to fix a problem with my ice maker. My initial call was answered by a machine. The call was returned within the hour and I was able to schedule a technician for same day service. The repairman arrived within 3 hours and was a little early. He quickly diagnosed my problem, a broken sensor, ice maker and assembly. Within @ 2 hours all of the parts were installed and tested. The parts and labor have a one year warranty. David K, the repairman, was nice enough to explain the repairs that were completed and give me tips on how to keep my freezer and ice maker in good working order. I would not hesitate to call this company a

I had 2 problems - a foul smelling front loading washing machine (due to mold - apparently a common problem in front loaders) and an oven in which the broiler was damaged. Ilya showed up right on time, was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. After some prompting, he agreed to take the front of the washer off and check the drain filter. He was just as surprised as me to find a small sock, some change, 2 hair clips and lots of mold and lint. (Apparently, they usually don't find much of anything). He put everything back together and then noticed it still didn't sound right, so he took the whole thing apart again and found another sock in the drain filter. It was alot of work, but I'm so glad he persisted and fixed the problem. He came back to bring the replacement part for the oven and fixed that also on a separate trip. All in all, I am one happy customer. Would definitely recommend Lerman Appliances.

Upon calling Lerman Appliances, I received an appointment within a three-hour window for an appointment the next day. Ilya was on time and diagnosed the problem. After agreeing to the price, he ordered the parts and returned when scheduled. He made the repair and explained how to avoid similar problems in the future. I found the quality and courtesy of the service commendable.

I only wish that all my repair experiences went as smoothly as Lerman. With the dishwasher, we called in the morning and Vitaly, one of their repairman, came out at 1 pm to look at the dishwasher. He ran the machine for a few minutes to identify the problem and said he needed the part, but he'd try to get it that day. I assumed he was just saying that -- but he was back at 5:30 pm with the part and the repair was done at around 7pm. The dishwasher works better than it has since we bought the house. Vitaly was professional but very nice, and very kind to our toddler who was fascinated with the repair. I had also ordered a replacement detergent tray for the dishwasher which I had intended to replace myself -- I asked how much it would cost for him to put it in, but he offered just to throw it in for the cost of the other repair (it only took him five minutes, with his experience but I'm sure would have taken me much longer and posed a much greater danger to our dishwasher). The washer if anything went even smoother. They didn't have an appointment the day we asked, but we scheduled for the next day we were available. They asked for a description of the problem over the phone and the model number of our washer, and came with the part in hand. The repairman explained that he could try to fix the problem by cleaning the pump, which would have cost half as much but might not fix it -- we elected to replace the pump, and he discovered it had been broken by a small pencil that had gotten into the washer anyway so couldn't have been cleaned. The whole thing took 2 hours and our washer works fine again. We asked about a few other issues (relating to smells in the washer, and a failing display on our oven) and both repairmen offered helpful thoughts and recommended maintenance tips. We'll definitely be using Lerman for any appliance issues, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

My dishwasher was dead. All the lights were off. Nothing worked. I got Lerman out after reading positive reviews on Angie's List. The technician was incredibly friendly and helpful. Initially he thought that the problem was a much bigger one involving the front panel. It would have cost over $265 to replace. He then discovered that the issue was an electrical one - something that was able to be fixed with the flick of a switch under the sink. Due to his honesty I saved a couple of hundred dollars on what other companies may have charged in the same situation. Would definitely use Lerman again.

I had a load of laundry in my dryer that would not seem to dry. Finally, I checked and there was no heat in the dryer. I looked up companies on Angie's List and picked Lerman Appliances. Val answered the phone and was very polite. He could have someone at the house 2 days after I called. (One of his techs was on jury duty.) That was fine with me. Segei arrived early in the time window they gave me and it only took about an hour to diagnose the problem (igniter), replace with a new one and close the whole thing up. I have used it many times and it has worked well since then. The tech was also very polite.

It went great. They seemed very straight forward. They were very good about explaining what to do after they repaired the dryer. They were very good at diagnosing the problem. Told me it would work even better if I did vent cleaning as well. They were very responsive about coming out when the dryer was still having problems.

Called Lerman Appliances from work on Thursday and spoke to a very nice, professional lady. Explained that my ice maker died and I tried to fix it myself, but it didn't work. She took all the of the details and the model number. She said a serviceman would come Friday morning from 9 to noon. To my surprise, Vitaliy showed up at 8:50 and quickly diagnosed the problem. He showed me the motor part that had shorted out and left a burn mark on a wheel. I am always interested on how to fix things and realized this was a problem beyond my knowledge base. Since he already had the model number, he came prepared with any parts I might need. He replaced the ice maker and explained how long it would take to start working again. He offered to come back if it did not start making ice cubes once the thermostat was at the right temperature. It is always difficult when you have a stranger come to your house, but after meeting him I was completely comfortable and was impressed that he was efficient, neat and that he took pride in his work. The ice maker started working before he drove away.

The ice maker would not work. Found that the main board in the fridge had shorted out. Ordered new board and found the best price for the board. When tried to replace board found another piece was broken. Had to come back the next week and finish the job. Only paid for the job no extra service. They were prompt, always arriving on time. Will call them when ever any appliance breaks.

On Sunday night our garbage disposal stopped working. On Monday morning I checked Angie's list and called Lerman Appliances to see if they would come out to take a look. My call was returned promptly and the gentleman asked me a few questions about my disposal and exactly what the symptoms were (was it making any sound, etc). We made an appointment for a few hours later and he showed up early (he called first so that was a plus). He found that there was a penny lodged in the disposal. He also showed my husband how to unplug the device if he ever needed to reach into the disposal without fear of it turning on. He also left us a tool to use if we ever had a similar issue in the future so we could fix it ourselves. I thought that was great advice and nice to hear. I think most others would just want you to call them out again to charge another service fee. He was professional and pleasant and I will call them for all of our issues with our appliances in the future.

I called Lerman based on the Angie's List reviews, and was not disappointed. Right from the first call the Lerman team was professional, knowledgeable, and anxious to help. We needed service on a gas range and a warming drawer. Vitaly, the technician (and owner), was obviously very experienced, and diagnosed the problems quickly. He quoted approx. prices for parts and labor, which were very reasonable, and a few days later he came back to do the install (he had to order parts). He was clean, thorough, efficient, paid attention to details, and made sure I was happy before he left. As he worked, he showed me the old parts, explained what had gone wrong, and gave me tips on how to avoid problems in the future. When it came time to pay, his original estimates were accurate and he made sure I understood all the charges. I am always wary when choosing repair people. It's so hard to know how to choose, and who to choose. I would recommend Lerman without hesitation. I know they will be my first and only call next time I need help.
