Not well . Very nice man but came out 3 times and never resolved problem

I was having trouble with my ice maker which was leaking water into the rest of the refirgerator. I had had this problem repaired (I thought) by another company a few months ago at great expense. When it started happening again, they refused to come out an take a look saying it couldnot be the same problem. I finally called Lerman because my whole freezer suddenly became a block of ice, even though I thought I had shut the ice maker off. The refrigerator section was not getting cold, either. Illya arrived very promptly and smelled really good. He was nice to my dog, too. He totally defrosted the freezer and took the ice maker apart. He asked to look at the invoice from the previous repair company and seemed a little shocked. He said that basically, the ice maker was shot and needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate of $375. I was worried that my refrigerator was ruined, but he said no, the fan which circulates the cold air was frozen but started working once he defrosted everything. I told him I really didn't have $375 and could live without an ice maker. He said that was fine and we agreed that he would not put it back in the freezer, which gives me more room. He charged me for his time in diagnosing the problem and defrosting the refrigerator. He was there about an hour and a half. He also said I could get a new ice maker installed later if I wished. Illya was very good about explaining everything he did and what the actual problems were. The other guys had only fixed part of the problem. I will use Lerman again.

He arrived around 5:00 pm and after introductions started to look at dryer and ask questions regarding the problem. He opened it up and did some diagnogstic stuff. Based on the age of the dryer and information I could give him he felt the motor was dying. Based on the price to replace the motor, we decided not to pursue fixing the old dryer, but purchase a new.

Great experience with these guys, they're very courteous and are experts at what they do.

He found the issue to be improper detergent, did a thorough clean on the machine. He took his time, explained proper usage and how to fix this problem should someone do this again. He was friendly, prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. I would recommend him fully!

It seemed like they were highly rated and most of them have given them really good comments and so I chose them. I called them up and the guy that answered my call was Val. He said he will send a guy who was Russian and I could call the office if I had any trouble understanding him. The guy came down, brought an ice maker with him but that too didn't work. He kept fooling around for sometime. It kind of looked like he wasn't sure of what he was doing because he looked really confused. He put the new ice maker anyways and said it wouldn't work as there is another part which needs to be replaced. He called some wholesale dealer that deals with parts and he spoke in Russian. He said he would come back to fix that part. He came back to fix the part and said he had finished the job and he wanted the money. But, he didn't check if the ice maker was working. He said, it would work and he needed to go as he had other appointments. He just wanted to leave and he gave me the bill. The ice maker and the other part was way higher, almost double the rates I checked on the internet. So, I questioned him about that and he was really agitated. He called the dealer and told me he would give me a discount. It takes 4 hours for the ice maker to make ice and I wanted to make sure it was working properly before making the payment. So, I called their office and told them the issue but the person who picked the phone said I would have to talk to the owner and said he would call be back soon. The owner called this guy instead when I wanted to talk to him. They didn't even give me a confirmation for the payment I made. But, my ice maker does work. I had made a lot of research online about the cost and they charged me extra.

AMENDED: After seeing the review below, Mr. Lerman called me immediately and apologized for my bad experience. He immediately sent me a check for $65 to refund me the service call fee. He also told me that David K. (the person who came to my house) no longer works at the company. I have slightly upgraded my ratings based on this as I do appreciate his responsiveness. ************************************ I received a 10 year old Sub Zero refrigerator as a gift/hand-me-down from a friend. I had it professionally moved to my house and when it arrived the refrigerator portion would not cool (freezer was fine). I used Angie's List to find Lerman and paid them $65 to come and figure out what was wrong. David K. came out and looked at it for 5 minutes and told me that I had to replace the evaporator coils and it would cost $1500. Then he said "but for you, $1200. And if you pay cash I can give you a really good deal of $1000. I did not trust him because of the multiple prices and the fact that he only spent 5 minutes looking at the fridge! I could not afford to spend $1000 so I sent him off. Two months later I finally have the money to have another person come out and give me an estimate. The new repair man says "In 20 years I've never needed to replace evaporator coils on a Sub Zero. They are built to last". He opened the access panel, spent 15 minutes looking at it, and determined that the freon had leaked out due to a loose valve cap. He put in more freon, charged me $90, and the fridge is as good as new. I really feel like Lerman Appliances was trying to take me for all they could. Very disappointed, would never go near this company again.

Vitaly is a very nice man. He did a good job, and even answered some questions I had my husband ask (because I had to go to work) about some water under our refrigerator. His prices are reasonable. I liked him, and I will definitely hire him again.

Listing states the company does work in Thousand Oaks but when they called back on my request for service I was told I was too far away. If they don't want to do business in Thousand Oaks don't list themselves as serving the area.

When i initially called in, i gave the make and model numbers to Al. I explained that my old Maytag washer was leaking from the bottom. Al said that the technician would arrive with parts necessary to make the repair. When the technician, Ilya ("eel-ya") arrived he was approximately 10 minutes early. a great surprise! He did, in fact, come prepared with the necessary part and completed the repair in less than 20 minutes! Ilya was a very knowledgable and charming young man. don't be fooled by his youthful appearance...he knows what he's doing! i would definitely use them again and would request Ilya again.

We liked the guy when he first came to give us an estimate. After he told us how much it would be, telling us how much the part is and labor, he suggested we price new microwaves including installation, which we did. We decided their price was worth it. We are very happy with the overall experience.

Lerman Appliances had an open schedule and were able to come out on a Saturday at any time I was available. Technician arrived 5 minutes early and after inspecting our washer, he talked me through exactly what the problem was. He was extremely knowledgable and professional. He had the repair part in his truck and was able to fix everything within the hour! Extremely nice and informative. We will definitely call them again for our appliance repair needs!

The pricing was reasonable but we had a dispute with them. They had to get a part and we had to wait a couple days; that wasn’t a problem. They got the part and then their technician installed it. My wife hadn’t been able to do a wash in several days because the washing machine had been on the blink. She used the washing machine the day it got fixed and it flooded our two bedrooms. When I got home that night, when I went into a spare bedroom, I was walking on water. I stayed up until 1:00 with the shop vac, vacuuming up the water that was in the two bedrooms. I called and left them a message and they immediately had their technician come out the next morning. He came and fixed the problem and after that we were able to use the machine without a problem. I’m thankful for that. When I called to complain about what happened and to tell them I felt they were responsible, they said they would notify their insurance company. In the meantime I didn’t want mold in my two bedrooms. Even though I vacuumed all the water out of it, the carpet was still soaked. I cut half of the carpet in one bedroom and a third of the carpet in the other bedroom and I pulled the carpet to the outside to let it dry. I asked that they help me with the cost of replacing the carpet. They said they would put in a claim to the insurance company. The insurance company sent out an adjuster to take photos and we felt that we were going to be reimbursed for replacing the carpet. When I called to follow up because I hadn’t heard anything from the insurance company, they told me that they weren’t going to pay the claim because the repairman told them it wasn’t his fault and the flood was caused because we must have had a towel in the basin and it blocked the drain. We had no such towel and we didn’t have a blocked drain; the drain worked perfectly fine. The insurance company used that as a reason not to pay the claim. The repairman didn’t want to take responsibility and he claimed there was nothing he did wrong. That’s not the way I see it. We have never had a flood caused by the washing machine except that night my wife used the washing machine after the technician fixed it. We have lived in that house for 23 years and we hadn’t had any similar flood. Now, by coincidence, our drain stopped up the night after the repairman fixed the washing machine. I’m left with having to replace the carpeting out of my own funds. I’m not sure what he did wrong the first time but he denies there was any problem at all. I’m sure he thought he fixed it correctly but why did I have a flood? He fixed it correctly the second time. I know the water came from the washing machine and not the drain because our washing machine is on a pedestal to elevate the height. That drawer was full of rags and things we use to clean the house. All those rags underneath were soaked. The water had to come from above and it had nothing to do with the drain pipe or the drain in the wash basin. I know it wasn’t my drain because it’s separate from the drawer under the washing machine. I’m not happy and I will never use them again.

Our refrigerator's fresh food section wasn't cooling properly. This problem was the same problem one of Angie's List Member had. The problem might have something to do with Evaporator Motor. I called Leman Appliances, Inc. , mentioned about the problem and suggested that it might be the evaporator motor being defective, gave them the refrigerator brand, model #, its other features, and then made an on-site diagnosis. The repairman arrived right at the beginning of the two-hour arrival window we were given, and needed only 15 minutes to diagnose the problem, most of that time disassembling the freezer area to have a look. I was expecting this to just be a diagnosis visit but he confidently told me what the problem was and that he'd just go out to the van for the part which he brought based on the model we gave over the phone and his guess of the problem. He replaced the motor with no problem, and only took longer to close up (30 minutes) because of some trouble with the bulb socket and the back panel that we had the same confusion about when trying to look for the problem ourselves. The repairman was professional and prompt, worked neatly, and confidently diagnosed and repaired the issue with the refrigerator. It has been a week since the visit, and the refrigerator has been working better than it has in a long time. He filled out the receipt and work description, went through the billing items, and left within 50 minutes of arriving.

The Technician arrived within the promised time frame. He fully explained the problem and how the mechanism works. He told me in detail what it would take to fix and the cost associated. I was holding my 3 mos old. The Technician was so helpful. He emptied my freezer for me (after asking my permission to help), fixed the problem, and put everything back. I could not have been happier. I will definitely call Lerman again.

Professional and pleasant from start to finish Got a next day appointment, came on time. Needed to get a part, which he was able to pick up at the end of the day, then called to let me know he did, in fact, have the part, set up an appointment to come back the next day and made every effort to accommodate my schedule

Showed up on time, fixed the problem and gave me good information along the way.

We are repeat customers and will definitely call Lerman Appliances for repairs. Our dishwasher needed a new electrical plug. The service was efficient and very professional. We are very happy customers.

I called Lerman Appliances and I got a response within 2 hours. I told them about the error code I was getting on my High Efficiency Washer. They gave me a same day appointment with a 1pm to 4pm window. They arrived at 2:30pm and replaced a sensor on my washer. The technician was pleasant and professional. The work was completed within 40 minutes. The work is guaranteed for 1 year.

Fabulous every step! Office staff very polite when making appt, repair person arrived early in 3 hour window, was also very polite and professional, replaced part in 15 minutes. Price very fair.

Vitaly from Lerman appliance diagnosed our gas smell coming from the dryer and the no heat in the dryer. We smelled gas coming from inside the dryer when I was trying to dry clothes on air dry. We called the gas company and they sent someone out to see if there was a leak at the meter and there was. We had to fix the gas leaks at the meter before we tackled the dryer issue. We called a plumber to fix the gas leaks (another report to add) and we were back to the dryer. Vitaly came in on time and told us exactly what he was going to do one step at a time with a penciled diagram to try and fix the problem. He was very calm about the process and that made us feel better.. He took the dryer apart . He said the igniter that we had just replaced 4 months ago was still working fine, but the coils that pull the heat in were not. He replaced the coils, cleaned up the dryer, put everything back and it has been heating and working great since then with no smell of gas at all. He deducted the service call and the Angie's List coupon from the total and that was fine with us. I don't think we'll ever use anyone but Lerman from now on.

Prompt, professional, communicative. I would definitely use this company again, and strongly recommend them to others. Vitaliy was on time, courteous and professional in every way. We had to schedule a follow-up appointment because a part had to be ordered and again, a great experience. The work was done fast and clean.

Repairman arrived within the first few minutes of our two hour window. He was very efficient and went right to work. Replaced the broken ignitor and cleaned up very well, especially since there was a lot of pet hair under the stove, which he swept up for us! We would definitely contact Lerman Appliances again for service, they were quick to respond and the job went well. The only downside is their labor charge is a little pricy.
