My experience with Sunshine Boys was very good. I called them and set up an initial move date and was quoted a fee of $1500.00. In the meantime I had to move my move date out a few days which was no problem with them. The day before my move, (which was a Sunday) I got a call from Grant just to confirm that the time was still OK and to let me know that the foreman for my move would be Ray. I found this to be very helpful because I was able to discuss with him the couple of questions that I had regarding payment, would they take the beds apart etc. They were supposed to arrive at my house between 8:30 and 9:00 am. They arrived at 8:30 exactly. Ray went over the contract and the cost with my husband. There were four movers total and they worked very quickly which I liked since I was paying them by the hour. They loaded up the truck and realized they didn't have room for everything so they unloaded at the new house and went back and got the rest of our stuff. They unloaded that and then it was off to the storage facility. I left my son with them while I went to drop my daughter off at softball practice. I couldn't have been gone more than 40 minutes and when I got back they were done with the storage facility. I was very impressed by that since my storage is on the 2nd floor and they had to bring everything up a freight elevator. Overall I am very happy with the service the gentlemen were nice and friendly and Ray kept everything organized. I will use the Sunshine Boys for every move I do and I will refer them to my friends and family with confidence. Thanks guys!!

I called Sunshine Boys Moving the week before my planned move date. Richard was excellent and very thorough in his over-the-phone estimate. He asked details about my apartment such as the number of rooms, the number of stories of my apartment, the amount of furniture and so on. He offered his company's packing services as well but aside from the packing of the larger pieces of furniture I declined . The crew arrived right on schedule the day of my move. Forgoing the coffee and donuts that I had picked up for the crew, they set off straight to work. I had everything boxed in advance so within three hours they had moved my stuff out of my apartment, paper and plastic wrapped my furniture for storage and we were off to my new place. Since my home is undergoing a renovation I asked them to store my stuff in my garage and if possible to keep it on one side of the garage so I could continue to park my car on the other side. They did just that and in roughly an hour. Their price was just about what Richard had estimated, including packing materials. They made my moving day as low stress as possible.

They were an A rated Angie's List company. They helped us with a long distance move. They contracted with a second company for long distance moves that were not as careful with packing and unloading. The movers who were unloading made comments about how poorly the packing was done. Everything made it and was salvageable, however we were disappointed in this second company. The sunshine boys were a pleasure to work with! They were very polite and timely and they were conducive in helping do exactly what I wanted done. They came in right at their estimated cost with both packing and moving. The owner came to do the estimate, and he was very nice and very thorough.

I called a large highly advertized moving company at first and then changed my mind after reading comments from dissatisfied customers. I had used Angie's List before, so I decided to give it another go and see if I could come up with a moving company that would personalize this rather tramatizing event and ease me through it with assistance and humor. I decided on "The Sunshine Boys" and after talking to the gent on the phone, I had an appointment set up and an estimated cost "not to exceed" a set amount of money. Many questions were asked as to the amount and type of items being moved and the location of each residence. Since I had previously boxed much of the household items, I was not in need of boxes or people to do this labor. I received a courtesy reminder phone call the day before I was to move and was given the names of my three movers,and the time they would be expected to arive. The next morning exactly on time, Rey,Dennis and Germaine drove up in a huge, brightly painted van. All 3 men were in great moods and worked well together. They workied non-stop from the moment they arrived until everything was packed in their van. The anticipated 2 1/2 hour job actually took 5 hours to complete, but we all chatted throughout the entire time, so the hours passed by quickly. I was to meet them in at my new home 100 miles away in LaJolla, so I hopped in my car and took off heading south. I stopped to pick up my mother, so I couild drive in the diamond lane and figured the guys would stop and eat lunch, so I'd get there before they did. To my surprise, my cell phone rang a few minutes after I arrived at the new home, and Rey, Dennis, Germaine and the huge van were aready in LaJolla. I couldn't believe how quickly they manurvered the van from LA to San Diego in such a short time. As they jumped off the van to unload, the sun was setting, but the 3 tireless woorkers were still going strong. They asked where I wanted the different pieces of furniture and boxes, and kidded around and talked the entire time. They three guys were very careful with my belongings and complient to any of my wishes. Their sense of professionalism made me feel safe and secure, as I watched them carefully wrap furniture and haul heavy armoires up and down stairwells. Yet they were all very outgoing and enjoyable to be around, so that it seemed more like friends helping me move than a contracted moving company. Other than their somewhat quirky name, "The Sunshine Boys Moving Company " was the right pick for me. When I stop and think about it, Ray, Dennis and Germaine did make the Sunshine on my entire moving experience that Valentine's Day.

We moved from a 2B/1B apartment to a 3B/1B house. It was estimated that the move would take 5.5 hours and it was actually finished in less time, 5 hours and under budget! The moving crew was punctual and professional and polite. Rey, Jonathan and Jim did a great job taking care of our furnishings. Nothing was broken or damaged and they were very sensitive to taking care of the beautiful hardwood floors in our new house. I highly recommend Sunshine Boys Moving, especially this crew! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

They charged me $1800 and it went very well. I liked them and they were great. It was a reasonable bid because I found out from someone else, but they quoted lower. They had to go higher and ultimately their price was market price, so that was my only comment. I got the bid over the phone and they offered to have someone come out, but I was under the gun. I would use them again and my only caution to tell somebody is to have an estimator come out first.

From the moment the Sunshine Boys showed up, they brought the sunshine. They were positive and friendly, accommodating and professional. I had three movers assigned to me for what was supposed to take 5 hours according to the estimate. They moved quickly and thoughtfully. I really liked everyone on the team - My two main movers were foreman Patrick, who was great, hard-working and fast and Mario, who was also awesome, friendly, and dilligent. The third mover was Jimmy, but he was called out and replaced by Tony, both of whom were good guys. I was moving into an old house with some funky corners, and I appreciated the care and thought that the guys took in moving in some of the bigger pieces. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the work and the positive energy and experience. My only issue was that it took about three hours longer than anticipated, so the cost was more than we'd thought. That said, they moved really quickly, and I cannot imagine it going any faster. I think that it was more my mistake in that when getting my original estimate, I should have included that I was moving from a split level, 2 story townhome, which added to the time in carefully removing the furniture. The more information you give at the outset, the more accurate the estimate will be. But the guys were great, and I would definitely hire them again. They made my move a delight.

I would recommend them to anybody. They are the best and I had a great experience with them. They were easy to communicate with. They were on time. They said they would be there when they showed up. They appeared friendly and trustworthy. They were very careful not to take the easy way out by sliding things across the wood floor. There was even an issue where we had some items moved from the house and put into storage and then realized we needed some of the things from the storage. We called up the owner of the business and asked him if he could help us get the boxes. He personally dropped off 3 of the boxes we asked for. He went above and beyond. He could have told us that the boxes were buried in the back of the storage locker and he didn't have access to it as discussed and it would be impossible to get them out of the storage locker. Even though he told us that it would be impossible to get things out of the storage locker after we moved everything, he was able to do it. I feel that was a plus and the willingness to go the extra mile. The cost was between 1500 and 2000, maybe a little less maybe a little more. We would continue to use them in the future. We have in fact recommended them to other friends who are moving.

Called for a quote. Was told between $400 and $450. My new building required the movers provide a license, which they did without problem. Morning of the move, 2 guys arrived on time at 8:30 am. They were professional, courteous, and friendly. They worked fast, and seemed to have fun doing it. Pack up took 2 1/2 hours. At 11, we were set to head 10 miles to downtown. They stopped for lunch on the way (Astro Burger). They were at the new place at 12:30ish. They had a reserved space at the loading dock and we had exclusive access to the freight elevator. Took two hours to unload. While one guy was writing up the paperwork, the other guy helped me put my bed together. The final tally was $580. Quite a bit more than the phone quote. The guy explained that the distance from the elevator to the unit was to blame. I don't know whether I am a sucker or what but, they were cool, worked their a**** off, so I figured $550 was about right, so that's what I paid them,(not to mention the twenties I gave each of them for working so hard). But here is where it gets a little sketchy. After it was all finished, the guy gives me a form to sign. It said something to the fact that the cost can't be greater than the amount quoted. And on the line of the amount quoted was written $700. I was like, "What is this?" And the guy told me that in California, it's required to provide a written quote that the cost cannot exceed. Problem is, he says, "How can we know how much it'll cost until we do it." I told him I had been quoted $450 max. Again, he said that his boss couldn't have known how far the loft was from the elevator. As it turns out, I was happy to pay these guys for their work. I felt it was a fair price. However, not every customer will be as flexible and understanding as me. If they keep up this practice of not providing the proper documentation required by California state law, they may run into trouble. Which would be a shame, because they did a great job. I would hate to see people out of work for failing to follow the appropriate guidelines.

We did not end up using them. We did not have them actually come out for the quote. Everything was great with them; we just ended up going with another company that we had previously used. They were professional. We didn't have any problem with them.

They are a local mover. They are easy to work with and are pretty quick and efficient. Our moving times got screwed up and although we were supposed to move on a Saturday, they were able to shift everything around and come out on a Sunday after they had already shown up on Saturday. Appearance-wise, they were less than perfect; they weren't wearing uniforms or anything like that.

I called and needed this done quickly. These guys showed up and were very nice and very funny and professional, and efficient and did everything perfectly! They handled everything safely. Nothing was damaged, they had everything with them; they were very prepared. They brought everything right to my place. They were awesome! They did this job in about a day! They were a little expensive but you could not asked for anything better. They were very efficient and absolutely worth the money! They were just great!

They were awesome. Four guys arrived on time with a huge truck. They were very cheery and friendly, they worked fast, asked tons of questions before making assumptions about what to move and where to move it. They treated our stuff gently and nothing broke. I would hire them again in a second.

Two very nice young men arrived on time and clearly understood what items needed to be moved. I was amazed at the care that was taken in protecting my furniture for the moving process. When they got to my new location they quickly unloaded and removed the protective material and even helped me decide where to place some of the items. They made the whole experience extremely positive.

This company is outstanding. I don't believe you could find a better moving company. Actual price was considerably less than the estimate, they arrived on time, were efficient in packing and unpacking, and very personable employees. Jim, Jermain, and Sergio were the three movers and they were great. Ask for them to move you and will be very pleased with the service.

They got back to me a couple of times after I made the initial appointment. I had no problems with them. I have used moving services before, and this was definitely a more positive experience for me.

The guys showed up on time. They prepped their truck and came into wrap the furniture. They took care of everything they moved and wrapped and worked at a nice and steady pace. The majority of the time they came in was to wrap the furniture. Once everything was wrapped, it took a short time to actually move the items into storage. There were a couple of issues I had. When I called for an estimate, the person on the phone told me it would take approx. 3 hours. Granted, since he didn't come by and was only estimating on what I told him over the phone, it took the guys 6 1/2 hours to complete the job. I didn't expect the time table to double, but I do understand things take time to complete and that the guys were not slacking off. Another thing I wish I was told during the estimate was what common supplies would be charged to me if I did not provide them, ie tape and paper pads. I know that they are a business and products should be charged accordingly, but I wish I knew about options to provide the supplies before the move.

Although I would definitely use Sunshine Boys again, I would recommend that you request an on site inspection before accepting the bid. I described the situation as best I could - fire damaged 3 bedroom home, half the furniture staying because of damage, no kitchen or bathroom packing, only one bed, 1 large desk, a mummy sarcophagus, some tables & chairs, a large TV, and hundreds of action figures, hundreds of boxes of memorabilia and collectibles, books, DVDs, CDs, video tapes, etc. I was originally told it would take one full day of packing and moving. But when the crew arrived, they said it would take one day of packing and 1/2 day + of moving. and was difficult for me to arrange time off for the second day, let alone pay for an additional half day. I should have had someone inspect the site so that I could have had a more accurate estimate of time and cost. HOWEVER, it was the best moving experience I ever had, especially considering the circumstances. The crew were careful, asked questions, and were diligent in getting everything packed. I was especially impressed with James, the crew supervisor on the second day. I will specifically ask for him next time because he was so thorough, polite, and industrious. All in all, I highly recommend Sunshine Boys.
