Called George and left a message. He returned my call immediately and we scheduled a date that worked for both of us. He arrived in that time frame, discovered the problem, fixed it, and now we have lots of pressure and plenty of hot water. Nice guy. Highly recommend.

They did an excellent job and I would describe their work as 'top quality.' I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a very good plumber. They were on time and cleaned up the bathroom when they were done. Overall, a very professional and hardworking father-son team!

Very sorry to have to leave a negative review. George and his son Thad are very nice and hardworking. But they overlooked things a couple times and left us with a problem we had to turn elsewhere to solve. We needed our new washer and dryer installed and had to have a sink removed to make room. He did fine with the sink and extending the gas line to reach the dryer. But even though I mentioned the pedestals a couple times that morning and they were right next to the machines, they forgot to install them. He was out of time and had to return the following week anyway to fix a small leak. When we used the washer in the meantime, it was shaking severely on the spin cycle. When he came back, he fixed the leak and installed the pedestals, wedged the washer to help with the shaking and said if that didn't work, we'd need to pour a concrete slab to level the floor. The shaking continued on every speed of the spin cycle, so I decided to call Sears to get help under the warranty. The person I placed the work order with asked if the installer had removed the shipping bolts on the back of the washer. We checked and all five were still in place, clearly marked "remove before operating." We were able to remove these ourselves. Now everything is working fine. It was not inexpensive having this work done. I'm certain it would have been less expensive if they had paid attention and done things right the first day.
12/19 - As a followup: In the mail today I received a full refund for the charges for their work, which was more than honorable under the circumstances. It was a meaningful gesture and too much, considering they worked well on the sink. I have decided to return part of this to them and have reflected their decency in updating my review.

I am going to have the guy come back out to replace the parts of the faucet since I already have the parts. I chose another plumber who was on Angie's List but he could not come because he was sick so he recommended the guy in Hog Island and I have seen that he was also on Angie's List. So far, I was happy with his service and his price seemed alright. I cannot really say that his punctuality was perfect because he said that he would be coming between 9:00 and 11:00 or something like that. I was trying to call him but I cannot get a hold of him because he is on vacation or something and he would not get back until tomorrow.

I have worked with George (the business owner) at least a half-dozen times for plumbing problems in my home. He came highly recommended from local homeowners, and he certainly is everything his reputation promises. He is always punctual, efficient, and very clear about what remedies are available for any problem. When he claims that no job is too small, he certainly means that, and shows up with as much enthusiasm for snaking a drain, replacing a garbage disposal, installing a toilet or fulfilling a contract for a major project. Having owned homes since the mid-1980's, I've hired a lot of individuals and crews to repair, install, renovate, and construct everything from individual rooms to a complete remodel of a Victorian home. Not all of them lived up to their advertising or references, but George certainly has. He values his customers, knows quality products and suppliers, is competitively priced and prompt in responding to a service call. Moreover, the work site is always maintained in a clean and organized manner with no disruption to the routine of a household. I have recommended him to friends who have been every bit as impressed by George as I am; and therefore, I have every confidence that customers who find Hog Island Plumbing through Angie's List will be among his satisfied repeat customers just like the rest of us.
