SIGNS UNLIMITED

They started sending us proofs via email which were poor quality. It was hard to tell exactly what the logo was going to look like as the proof had a big white box around the logo and lettering and this was over the truck so it made it hard to tell what the finished product would look like. We ended up using another company and the other company's email proofs were far better. Signs Unlimited could not come up with a logo we liked so we ended up getting a graphic artist to do one. Probably 6 months elapsed before we emailed them the new logo. We heard nothing. I called the business and spoke to Gerard who told me that the file type with the logo was one that they couldn't work with and they had to send it out to be "vectorized". He said it would take a week or so. We heard nothing. I called a second time and was told "I have your file right here in my hand! I was just about to call you!" He said the file had not come back yet, the company who was "vectorizing" it was located in Washington and it would be another week. We heard nothing. A month wwent by and I sent an email asking how much longer and got no response. We found another company, Fast Signs, and got the job done there instead. They had no problem with the file type (on the logo) and were done with the truck in a week or so. I called gerard at Signs Unlimited and told him we wanted our money back and that we got the signs done elsewhere. He said I had to call back after 10 AM to talk to the owner. I called back at 11 and the owner wasn't there. I called again at 1 and was tld I just muissed him, try tomorrow. I called a few days later and Gerard said, "He hasn't called you yet?" expresing surprise. I said no, we had heard nothing. He promised me he would put a note out for the owner to call and he would write out our problem. We heard nothing. I emailed and got no response. Another month went by. I emailed again, this time looking for additional email addresses on the web in an effort to make sure the owner got the email. I wrote what had happened, why we were irritated, and asked for our money back. I got a snide, nasty email in return. The owner accused me of "overstating and exaggerating" the situation. Mind you, a full year has gone by from our initial contact. He siad we had only paid a deposit of $120.00 which I don't believe. I am positive we had paid 247.00 so far but I cannot find the cancelled check and my online banking only goes back 3 months so I can't prove it. He sent a check for $120.00 the next day with no copy of our receipt so I have to take his word for it or find the cancelled check. I am going to look for the check. I was surprised at the unprofessional attitude of the email from the owner. To be frank, had he said something like, "I am sorry we were unable to do business together, I will send your refund tomorrow." I probably would not have been motivated enough to log on and review the company in such a negative manner. But to be jerked around for a yera and then insulted on top of it, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I gave them a F rating for price because I beleieve they still have some of our money. I found this company to be completely unprofessional and would never use them or reccomend them to anyone.
