About us

T & G Roofing Company, Inc opened in 1989 in the city of Rancho Cucamonga and moved to Upland in 1998. Even with very little advertizing our company quickly grew. To this day we attribute this to a few simple but important business principles. The first and foremost is to know the value of your customer. The customer and their opinion/referral is what will make a successful business. We treat your home with the same respect we would treat our own home. Second is to have a good relationship with your employees. We have always had an open door policy for our employees to be able to express their concerns and ideas with us. We know that your construction project will only be as good as the installers we hire. Most of installers have been employed with T & G Roofing Company, Inc. for well over a decade, in addition we have two installers that have been continually employed with us for over 20 years, and another three installers that have 15 years. We think that this speak volumes for the type of ethics we believe in. If a company treats their employees with respect and provides a good pay for an honest days work they will stay loyal and always do their best. Loyal and happy employees are who you want working on your home. We look forward to earning your business.

I found T& G Roofing on Angie's List. I was able to get a professional estimate, by that I mean, written so I could read it, with a drawing of the problem area, how much square footage was involved, details of exactly what would be done and how much it would cost. Also included was copies of insurance and licenses and references. I was scheduled within a week of accepting their bid. Due to a rainy forecast, work was started ahead of schedule. My roof was waterproof although not completely finished. Several tiles were broken and needed to be replaced. Although this type of tile was no longer available, they were able to get some that matched! The tile work was completed within 3 days.

This was a big job with a lot of complications. After the old roof had been ripped off we were hit with five days of non-stop rain. The T&G crew had made sure we experienced minimal water damage and they repaired the few spots where there were interior leaks. The company and crew were always professional and responsive. They even came back and custom built new gable trim to replace a few spots that had been damaged during the shake removal.

Mike Cernile came to inspect the roof. He was very courteous and explained the problem that I had, which required the removal of the tiles to remove and replace the tar papers for an area of about 1500 sq. ft. The cost included the resealing of the skylight and vent pipes. When asked, he gave a small discount. He provided an estimate on the spot and a package containing copies of worker's compensation insurance, a BBB report, and references. Since it was a major repair, they provided a 5 year warranty. The workers came as scheduled and worked hard for closed to three days to complete the work. The initial estimate was two days. They did not clean up at the end of each day but cleaned up after they were finished. I asked them to clean the skylight for me, and they were happy to do it for me. The roof looked great, and I thought they did a excellent job.

All employees of this company were excellent!! From the estimator to the demo crew to the installers. They are a local company and they treat you like your one of the family. It was always easy to reach somebody. My house is old and they addressed every issue that arose. I'm very pleased. I have the best looking roof on the block now.

This company was one of the two positive experiences I had with the subs used by an incompetent contractor. The tile was replaced so that three is no visible break between old and new. None of their work needs to be redone. I am suing the contractor. When I called T&G asking for information regarding missing invoices, Tom Shae spent extensive time assisting me in untangling the contractor's actions and billings. I will using this company for all future work.

Overall, it was very good. They had the best of 3 estimates: lowest price, with better materials, plus they took care of the old solar stuff.(One company said we had to take care of that ourselves first.)It also gave us a choice of two brands rated well by Consumer Reports. They were able to start work sooner than estimated, and sent large crews so that it was finished quickly. End result is beautiful, and city inspector said it was a good job. Estimate did not include replacement of termite or water damaged wood. There was a LOT of it (not completely unexpected), so the final price was $1,400 more than estimate.) Even though other estimates included some replacement, the amount we had to replace would have raised those prices very significantly, also. The removal team dropped something through the drywall roof of a bedroom, but they fixed it quickly and well within a week (subcontracted it).

For the first time in years, my roof wasn't leaking. The estimator was courteous and arrived on time for his appt. the men who repaired the damage were also courteous, finished the job in 1 day, 1 day less than estimated, and cleaned up thoroughly.

WE COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER ROOFING EXPERIENCE. THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED WITHIN 4 DAYS AND THE WORK AREA WAS LEFT CLEAN. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH CITY PERMIT APPROVAL AND NO LEAKS!!

OUR EXPERIENCE WITH T&G ROOFING WAS FANTASTIC. BECAUSE IT WAS AFTER THE HEAVY RAINS, THEY TOLD US FROM THE VERY BEGINNING THAT IT MAY TAKE AWHILE. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE.
