About us
Founding owners, husband and wife team Bill and Kathleen, started out as ordinary customers, looking to upgrade their own home with replacement windows and replacement patio doors. Seeking an energy-saving window and door solution, they found a series of poor contractors and a need for an improved service that customers can rely on. Bill and Kathleen felt that they could do it better and they have been revolutionizing the home improvement industry one customer at a time for over 15 years. American Vision Window is now the number one window replacement company in California and Arizona, and service areas include Ventura County, Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Diego County, Greater San Jose Area, and Arizona.

presented himself as the vice president of American Vision who started the
business with the husband and wife that own the firm. He was not the ?normal?
salesman, and came on this bid since it was close to their office. During the course of the conversation, he
told me that this would save us money, since he was not on a commission, so
that part could be factored out of the bid. He went around the house and
counted the windows (not measured) and then did some calculations on his smartphone,
and showed me the result on the phone which was a little over $28,000 for 30
windows and 2 sliders. He told me that we now needed to figure out how to get
the price below that. I told him we had gotten a bid a awhile back from Lowes,
for about $22,000, but were not going with them. I told him we were waiting for
a bid from another company and that I would get back to him after I heard from
them. He asked me if they actually measured the windows which I told them they
had. He said well, then it?s not really fair if they got the actual
measurements and he did not. How he was able to even show me the $28,000 number
without measuring I do not understand. I then admitted that they were at
$20,000 and working on trying to reduce that further. He guessed who the other
company was, and then told me that because if American Visions size, they could
afford to beat them and take a loss. I was fortunate that he came instead of
one of the salesman, since he had the authority to bid the job at a loss. He was not able to explain why he would
even want to do that. I said I was put off by someone that would suggest a
price close to $30,000 and then in a matter of a few sentences, come down below
$20,000. He seemed to think because they were bigger made them better and that
I should be impressed with someone who would take a loss (supposedly) just to
beat the competition. I guess he could tell that his high pressure, negative
sale against the competition was not getting him anywhere, that he ended up
thankfully leaving. He took his brochure and business card with him. I am in
the sales business and manage a division with over 40 sales people and revenues
of over $40,000,000. I would never do business with someone with this sales
approach. In fact, I dream of going up against someone this obnoxious. Needless
to say, American Vision will not get this job. They may still be a great
company, with a just a very poor representative.

We didn't get what the salesman promised us because he didn't measure our sliding glass door.
But the real issue is we're still picking up broken glass in our yard 5 months after the they finished the job - and we have a toddler.

UPDATE January 2013: I was contacted by a customer service person to inquire about my experience (which I recapped in excruciating detail). She promised that I would get an answer about the rebates and she apologized profusely for my experience. Her job, evidently, is to follow-up with each customer to ensure that their experience was good. Following that phone call I got another phone call from a manager, who again apologized and promised to look into my issues. I then received regular phone calls and updates and was ultimately told that the rebates don't exist. They explained that they reviewed their processes in both sales and customer service and had made changes that would ensure that others don't have the same experience that I did. Ultimately, I received a refund for what would have been the value of the promised rebates.
Overall, it was a difficult transaction. I do appreciate, however, the extra effort that was made on my behalf to make the situation right and to ensure that it won't happen to others. The windows that I purchased are amazing, the installers were wonderful, and overall I would use this company again if I have the need. Clearly, situations come up that aren't optimal, but I'm very happy (now) with the follow-up and with the actions that American Vision Windows took to make this right.

The installation was fantastic, and all the windows and sliders were installed the same day. Their crew was professional, expert, and efficient. Especially nice was the way they cleaned up at the end of the day and hauled off the trash to dispose of it. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend American Vision to others.

Everyone who stepped foot in my house was polite, knowledgable and helpful, from sales, measurements, and installation. They did a gorgeous job. Originally, I had ordered 3 windows and 2 doors and I was so happy with the result that I called them back to do the rest of the house.
The windows and doors are beautiful and I couldn't be happier. This is a superb company that puts the needs of the customer first.
