The problem was soon diagnosed as a water logged lock assembly caused by a plugged drain tube. To further complicate matters the lock mechanism was broken and the wiring harness was corroded. The average mechanic would have replaced the lock module ($ 600.00) and perhaps the wiring harness. Filp and Mike balked at those prices and repaired the lock and the wiring harness with a new connector for less than half the cost.
The only problem was VW delivering the wrong parts causing a one day delay in getting the car back.
This is the best VW and Porsche repair shop in Ventura County-period. I have had them repair other VW products and they fix it when other mechanics can't diagnose the problem. In fact the local Porsche dealer has him repair cars they can't deal with. He isn't the cheapest but he is great value for dollars spent.
The one draw back is that he is very busy due to his reputation so it may take a while to get a car in for service. Is it worth the wait relative to the dealer? Yes!

Import Auto Clinic always make the repairs the first time you bring the car in. You don't have to take the car in a second or third time to have it fixed. We've been taking our cars to him for years. It's been a very pleasant experience.
