Few years ago I adopted "Pearl" a beauttiful cat from a shelter.  After a while I noticed that she was dragging her bottom on the floor  everyday, many times a day. I took her to my vet and he diagnosed her with "impacted anal  glands". This problem occurs very often with dogs and extremely rarely with cats. Every now and  then I had to go to the vet to get her glands squeezed and emptied which helped a little but did not solve the problem for very long. The vet told me there was a surgery for this but since a cat's anal glands are so small it was extremely risky to damage them considerably and permanently.  For years I brought her back  to have her anal glands emptied which terrifed and hurt her.  She appeared to be in constant discomfort.

I finally decided to switch to Dr Franklin since she had already saved my other cat from many huge bites and a damaged toe acquired during a bad fight.  She examined her,  took her in the back and did her treatment. A week later I went back with Pearl to Dr Franklin for a problem she had in one eye.  I told Dr Franklin that my cat was still dragging her bottom.  She said that sometimes the cat needs a second treatment and she would do the  2nd treatment right then for free which she did. End of the problem!  Now my cat is happy and comfortable.

Dr Franklin has been my vet for years now and my cats are healthy and happy.  Sonia, her assistant is fabulous and very experienced having worked in an emergency pet hospital for years.  All the desk people are super nice and helpful  including Bill her husband.
Also,  this the nicest animal hospital in the  area. Everything is sparkling clean, new an beautiful. Dr Franklin and Bill put their whole heart in creating this beautiful facility. The waiting room is bright and sunny with view on the ocean. Great parking lot. There is also a grooming room for dogs and a  full time dog groomer .  My neighbor takes her dog there and loves it!

We are soooo lucky to have Dr. Franklin in Summerland.  What a treat!

When our cat, Harry, was in a fight several years ago our regular veterinarian would not see him as it was a Saturday and they did not have an appointment available.  We had been clients there for many years and asked repeatedly if they could just take a few minutes to look at him,  We were given a firm no and referred to the Emergency Hospital which would have been a very expensive proposition.  Your Pals Pet Hospital had recently opened very near our house so we decided to give it a try.  The cat had indeed been in a fight and apparently lost badly.  Numerous puncture wounds as well as damage to his feet.  Dr. Franklin not only treated the patient but gave us a lesson on how to follow up as necessary.  The service was great that day and has been ever since.  We have two cats and the story about Pearl, our other cat, will be next.
