Ron and his team were excellent to work with. They were timely, informative, and the quality of the work was great. The work was completed quicker than I anticipated. Plus, the pricing was reasonable. I will use R&M in the future!

R & M Const. Did a fantastic job on remodeling my laundry room. Ron, Rob, and their crew all did great work when they were here. Cleaned up their mess when they were done working. The work involved demolition of 400 sq ft garage and building out close to 1000 sq ft structure that included new garage, bed, bath, laundry/utility room. I took 5 quotes from different contractors and choose R & M Construction. Their quote was very detailed with down list items which gave me confidence that the team knew the job and could execute and how the cost was calculated and it gave me flexibility upgrade/downgrade listed items. During execution of the project, the team was very professional and did a great job! we lived in the house during construction and they were very accommodating. No hesitation in referring them.

It was a pleasure working with R&M Construction on a room addition. Their estimate was very detailed - I knew what I was getting from the start. I was worried about this addition to my open plan design, but the quality of their work is excellent! People that had been to my house before the remodeling did not notice any significant change to the house layout. The paint match was good too. I would hire them again.

UPDATE ON REVIEW: I gave them all 5 stars after completing the job in November 2018 - It is now the end of March 2019 but unfortunately have to lower the rating. This was a big job - close to $200K, I was a prompt payer, not holding any retention and easy to work with. I have a punch list of items that are still outstanding but payments are not. I believe their intention is to get back out and complete but maybe just not as big of a priority as should be. When a punch list goes over a couple of months, without a scheduled date, it is not reasonable - On to my first review: They completed a major remodel home remodel including an addition to my forever home in Brentwood. Working with Ron, Rob, and Jeff was great from start to finish. Their bid was competitive and complete. Being a single woman I appreciated the extra help, suggestions, and honesty. The architect had made some major mistakes on the design and R and M caught them right away and brought to my attention. Had they built to the plans, they realized it would not have met my expectations. Thanks to their experience we were able to move some things around and get an amazing finished product. They managed their subs well and worked with my architect to exceed my expectations in the finished product. I am looking forward to working with them again in the near future.

These guys are great!! From start to finish! Ron returned my initial call within the hour. He was at our house the next day, where he listened to what we wanted, gave great suggestions, and took measurements for a bid. He spent 2 1/2 hours with us!! Bid was great, well within our expectations. Construction started within 20 days after signing the contract. Rob and Jeff did exceptional work. They get more done in a day than I could have imagined. And they are perfectionists. Rob spent time with us at the end of each work day, explaining what was done and the plan for the next day. If there was an issue, we knew about it right away and it was taken care of. Our crappy ole kitchen is now a dream kitchen! Highly recommend them!!!!!

Kudos for R & M Construction! Ron and Rob Magin are my heroes. Along with their employee, Jeff, they completely transformed my parents’ home. It was built well over seventy years ago. After numerous sets of people lived there over the years, the house was left sadly neglected and no longer livable. Major repairs and renovation were sorely needed. Another company we contacted appeared intimidated by the scope of the work and backed out. Not so for Ron and Rob! At each step, from demolition to the final inspection, they cheerfully took on the project, and they were upbeat about the possibilities all the way through There were plenty of surprises along the way. Each time, they called me in, showed me the problem and explained what was needed. Both brothers are knowledgeable, conscientious, and personable. Their advice was invaluable and reliable, reflecting years of experience in every aspect of construction. They used initiative to install what they knew would be attractive and workable for the home. This house went from nearly uninhabitable to a place of style and beauty. These guys did everything they could do to keep the job moving without increasing the cost exponentially. I truly appreciate all their attention to detail and their professionalism. I always felt they were in MY corner, not just out to make a buck, but to turn the place into something great. In the end, even they were pleased with the results, and we certainly couldn’t be more proud of their work. I hope I can always use their expertise for any future job I encounter! Ron was great to work with, He transformed my wife's dream kitchen design into reality, And Rob and their team got it Done. Great work and just the way we wanted they did it. They also Did both of our bathrooms totally remodeled all new and done well. We like how they do their work and clean everything daily. They were patient with us as we changed and added a lot to the projects but they did all that we asked. We are so thankful and grateful that we found them on this site and will work with them again on future projects, and would highly recommend them for sure. We have new friends with R & M Construction. Thanks Ron,Rob and team. We love our new kitchen and bathrooms its Beautiful.

Excellent work

Ron was very detailed on the estimate for the job and he was very knowledgeable and had good ideas for us to realize our vision we gutted 2 rooms and basically remodeled all of the living space of our home we moved the kitchen and laundry had new floors put down new texture on all the walls and ceilings some new windows a reinforcement beam in the ceiling and new fixtures the job was bid for 70 working days and even though we had two major holidays mixed in they did it . while we went over our original budget ( all of witch was our choice) we are quite happy with the results Ron was all over any request we had (and we had many) I highly recommend Ron and his Brother

We hired Ron and Rob to do our bathroom remodel after getting 4 quotes. His was professionally done with line item detail (56 in all). The 3 other quotes were a joke in comparison. Ron is detailed, offers ideas and worked with us through the entire process. They did what they said they were going to do and were always punctual. Great positive guys to work with who are professional, up front and sub to only like minded craftsmen. An overall GREAT experience and would recommend them 100%! Other projects in mind at our house and will be using them again.

Ron, Rob and their team were great to work with. I was on a very tight budget and Ron revised the scope of our project several times before I even hired him. The project was to turn our upstairs loft into an office. After several quotes by Ron and other contractors, I found it was much more expensive than I thought it would be! Ron's quotes are extremely detailed and I was able to pull things out that I could do myself. I was very pleased with the work and the team's flexibility to add to the scope during the project. (we had a downstairs remodel going on at the same time and they helped with that too) After final payment, we installed our flooring and found that the doors no longer fit. I contacted Ron to get my doors trimmed and he had someone come out right away and fix them. I was very impressed by this because usually after final payment, it's hard to get them to come back. Not the case with R & M. Very trustworthy and I highly recommend!

THEY WERE VERY FREINDLY AND DID WHAT EVER I ASK THEM AND THEY WERE GREAT ABOUT CLEANING UP. THEY ARE GOING TO PUT IN TWO OF MY NEW FRENCH DOORS.

I am more than satisfied with R&M construction. We hired Ron to do a 450ft attic conversion which involved removing half the roof. The first thing that Ron does is he provides a really detailed quote. He really covers all the bases all the way down to the cost of individual light fittings etc. Ron's team was very courteous and professional. Ron estimated 3 months for completion and completed on time and on budget. One of the best things (especially pleasing my wife) was that Ron and team removed all debris every day. The neighbors even commented how clean and organised they were. I have since recommended R&M to one for my friends for work and would hesitate to recommend them to others.

Ron and Rob did an excellent job with our bathroom remodel, closet organizer, and master bedroom painting and carpet install. They were professional, directed us in our decisions for materials, colors and style that we desired. They gave a complete bid for the project prior to the start. We added other elements, but that was our choice. I can say both my husband and I love our new bath, closet and Master bedroom. We should have started this project years ago. We would definitely use them again and are recommending their work to others.

Absolutely horrible. Poor customer service, poor communication, and poor quality work. No pride and no integrity. A simple job that was supposed to take 3 weeks is now at over 3 months. They are cheap, not inexpensive. Just don't. Takes several days to return a phone call/e-mail. Didn't file for permits. Work is rushed. Caused two different leaks that caused property damage. Couldn't install a tub enclosure properly, broke it in the process, and won't fix it. Couldn't mount a towel bar level. Left bubbles in the linoleum. Disposed of sawdust in my planter. I can go on... Update: Cited by CSLB after investigation. Four violations, including poor workmanship, code violations, and no permits. Didn't show up to administrative hearing, even after submitting an appeal. Looking forward to receiving payment to cover repairs (per the citation) and/or seeing the loss of a license. Per the CSLB website, Ron has already had a license revoked. It seems Rob is now close to the same fate. Don't get fooled by a detailed quote. A good quote doesn't mean a good contractor.

Rob and Ron were very friendly and professional. Ron knew just what needed to be done. He gave me a fair estimate which was right on. Rob and his crew did a wonderful job with the repairs. I am very satisfied. I would hire them again.

Ron & Rob M. with Rudy are all gentlemen. They return calls quickly, estimates are right on. Work was started and finished when they said it would be. Lovely workmanship. I am beyond happy.

We hired Ron to do a remodeling project. The price was 50% cheaper then other licensed contractors and quality was not bad. We added a room and a closet and I liked working with Rob and Ron because we were able to complete the job and finalize permits, thanks

From the beginning I was told what would happen each day of the project - and it did. The completed garage was even better then I had invisioned. Everything was smooth and within the inital price that was agreed upon. Very nice guys!
