"I am very sorry about this customer's dissatisfaction but our records of this project from early 2005 do not show that we ever received a call regarding these issues. It is our policy not to accept any payment for services until our customer is satisfied with the finished product. It is also our policy to correct any work that was not completed in accordance with our contract so I am perplexed as to how this could have occurred. Regarding the colors of the tile, I can say that the tile on this house was a style and color that had been discontinued by the manufacturer fourteen years prior to our repair so it would have been nearly impossible to exactly match the existing tile. We maintain an extensive "boneyard" of old tiles and always do our best to match as closely as possible but exact matches are very difficult on older tile roofs. We can perform a harvest and replace procedure whereby we move existing tiles from a hidden section of the roof to serve as replacements for the broken tiles and then place the newer replacement tiles into the hidden section. This obviously costs a bit more but it does avoid the patch appearance that occurs in a direct replacement operation. I apolgize again for this customer's experience and wish that we could have been involved with the remedy at the time of the occurance."

"I am somewhat perplexed with this review in that our records show that we have been called to repair this roof on six different occassions due to tiles being broken by house painters. On each occassion, we replaced the broken tiles and only charged our minimum service charge. The most recent call was in 2011 regarding a leak near a window. We have a repair proposal in our files to replace the mortar along the wall beneath and adjacent to this window but no response was ever received. Nothing in our records indicates a recommendation to replace the entire roof. This home has a very large and involved clay tile roof that we did install for the custom builder so it is unlikely that we would ever recommend doing anything beyond small sectional repairs where they are needed. Again, I remain confused about this review but apologize to this customer for the apparent communication lapse that must have occurred. Jerry Vandewater"

"Having just taken over responsibilites related to Angies List, I am just now reading this review and want to offer my sincerest apologies to the member. This is certainly not typical of the type of service that our company delivers. The only possible explanation that I can offer is that the date of this report was shortly after Dave had transitioned from a crew position to that of service estimating and had not fully adopted the follow-up mechanisms that are in place to prevent this type of occurrance. I can assure you that the systems currently in place absolutely prevent this type of service snafu and we routinely recieve praise from our customers for our exemplary service and communication. Again, I am very sorry for this customer's experience but I can only assure them that if they were to give us another chance, they would have a completely different experience and see the true face of August Roofing.
