We've taken a number of our vehicles to D and R over the years and have always come away satisfied with their service. They've always been sensitive to costs and helpful when it comes to prioritizing repairs. They even helped my retired sister from Pasadena who had a brand new clutch master cylinder go out just as she arrived by giving her a steep, steep discount to fix work that her shop in Pasadena had just completed prior to her trip down here. Superior work, superior attitude (which includes honesty, in my book), and humane; can't give a higher recommendation than that!

When they've misdiagnosed a problem (rare) and a second visit is required they've always accepted responsibility for the mistake and rectified it. My wife has been going to Dand R for 25 years. Most of that time she was a single mother. I work in Las Vegas and am only in Santee on weekends. My mechanic in Las Vegas retired so I decided to give Dand R a try. I had not performed much maintenance on my car in a while except for oil changes. I took it to them because the brakes hadn't been checked in a while and my rear rotors looked worn. I also wanted the transmission serviced. They quoted me on the transmission and told me they would do a brake inspection at no cost and check the car over for anything additional. I received a call from David, one of the owners. He told me what the brakes needed and that they found a broken motor mount as well as some other maintenance items. He quoted me just under 1600.00 + tax. The price seemed reasonable and I told him to go ahead. After hanging up I decided I wanted the radiator flushed as well. I called David back and he quoted me an additional 129.00. He said it would be the next day before all the work was completed. The next day when I picked up the car I was pleasantly surprised to find my entire bill came in at under 1600.00. They had given me a discount for a promotion that they had run at Christmas time. A good mechanic can be difficult to find and I highly recommend Dand R.

They were very professional, but I was disappointed this time. They did not fix the main problem, and I took it somewhere else and they fixed it fast.

DNR was friendly and helpful and went right to work on my car. They were completely honest and told me exactly what was needed and what could wait. They were reasonably priced and I felt that they really had my best interest at heart.

D and R Automotive has always been so helpful and reliable. They are far away, but we still go there. We trust them so much. We ve used them for 25 years and it is pricey, but well worth it. I would highly recommend them.
