About us

Over forty two years ago the owner of All Cities Pest Control, Gerhard Gengelbach began working in the pest control industry here in Southern California. Working his way from route technician to manager at a number of State-Wide Pest Control chains. Then in the early 1980's he opened the doors at All Cities Pest Control. Working out of his own home, using the skills and expertise he had developed, to bring quality service and products into the San Diego marketplace.Since those early days All Cities Pest Control has long since outgrown the small home office we started in. We now offer service to all of San Diego County and large portions of the surrounding Riverside and Imperial Counties as well. While we offer a range of services from insect to animal control, residential to commercial , All Cities Pest Control strives to be the leader in Africanized honeybee control. When the city of San Diego created an Africanized Bee Task Force, Gerhard Gengelbach was the only Pest Control Operator from San Diego asked to participate.

Chris has been great.  Comes when he says he will, service has been effective.  We have had ant issues on occasion, and he is able to come out next day when needed.

We purchased a "Big Deal" for $330 for one year of bi-monthly pest service.
Typically they spray outside, but also inside for the first month treatment.
When ever we have had a special request (for example "ants were seen over here", "we saw rat droppings outside over there", etc) they have been very responsive in taking care of it.

Our home became infested with carpet beetles. Christian came and sprayed the interior and exterior of the home. He was punctual, professional, and very flexible to work with. In short, Christian was great to work with. This company was a pleasure to do business with. I will use them again and would recommend to friends.

We are going on our third year of service with them. Our technician always calls ahead of time, is very professional and flexible if we need the garage sprayed or other areas as well.

It’s been okay. The professional was nice, but the company wasn’t organized. They didn’t come out when they were supposed to. I had to call them back out because I kept having some recurring ant issues.

They came out in a couple of days and couldn't get hold of anybody, we had a dead rat in the house and we couldn't get anybody out to remove it for like four days. They are not very responsive because they don't have a messaging system and they don't have anybody working on the weekends. When they came out to the house it was great, but to call on the phone they are not very willing to accommodate. The work was good when they did come out.

They were very good.  I've used them for the last two or three years.  They were responsive and do a good job.  Every time I see ants again they come and take care of it.  The guy who comes here is very friendly.  I am very satisfied with their work that's why I call them every year to do the pest control around the house.  I will recommend them and their prices are very fair.  I think you can't beat their price and quality of their work.  I've been happy and I've site others and they are extremely expensive and tries you to pay for more services that you don't need.  They give me recommendations and don't advice for more expense but basically just to do get the job done for the price they quote.  I am very happy.

All Cities were wonderful! They were very responsive, ALWAYS right on time, friendly and so informative. Really made an ugly situation (having rats in the yard) into a much less painful experience than we would have imagined. The rat situation was definitely taken care of, and we'll certainly use All Cities again for any pest control issues we may have.

It has gone very well.  I really like that if we have any bugs reappear during the service, we can just call them and they will come out immediately.

Great people/Company. The service tech, Chris, is excellent at customer service. Very responsive. In fact, when I had a situation come up, everyone from the office to the service tech was on it immediately. They definitely deserve an A.

Ben set traps for rodents and has returned twice to check traps, so far with no kills. Also inspected outside of house and made suggestions to reduce likelihood of rodent access. Inspected two areas where roof construction often leaves entry points for  rodents--two roof planes intersecting--and found an entry point and a dead beehive at one location, which also showed evidence of critters eating the honeycomb. Removal of hive will cost approx. $700 and will require roof repair by a roof specialist at additional expense. If honeycombs not removed they will eventually be taken over by another bee colony, and will continue to be an attractant for critters. The hive removal was scheduled promptly and at a time convenient to me on 11 Feb 2014.
I knew going in that this project had potential to turn into something much bigger than I had originally hoped, so am NOT upset at additional cost. Both Ben and the office staff have been pleasant and professional to deal with at all times, and Ben has been prompt at keeping his appointments and careful around the house not to mark or damage the walls.
I am withholding my rating on quality because this project is ongoing. I intend to update after completion.

Selected based on reviews and Angies List coupon. Purchased a five visit package for $200. All Cities dispatcher was very responsive to first call and scheduled appointment within a couple of days. Visit One: First technician sent out was very personable. He did a thorough walk through/around of the house to identify entry points. He provided information on how to address the entry points. During the attic walkthrough, we saw two small rats. He set three traps in the attic and one in the crawlspace. Follow up visits were scheduled once a week over the next month totaling five visits. The tech expressed that he believed they would be able to get the rodent infestation resolved within the remaining visits. Because All Cities only provides service from 8-5 Monday through Friday, my step-daughter would take care of allowing access to the house for the follow on planned visits (two through five). Visit two: A different technician came out. One rat was captured in attic and one in the crawlspace. Traps were rebaited and reset. Rodent activity was heard in the attic throughout the week. Visit Three: Technician 2 came out again. No rats captured. Traps rebaited and moved around. Rodent activity was heard in the attic throughout the week and reported to technician. Visit four: Technician 2 came out again. No rats captured. Traps rebaited and moved around. Rodent activity was heard in the attic throughout the week and reported to technician. Visit Five: Technician 2 came out again. No rats captured. Traps rebaited and moved around. Rodent activity was heard in the attic throughout the week and reported to technician. This was the last visit under the package deal. Visit Five: Technician 2 came out again. No rats captured. Traps rebaited and moved around. Rodent activity was heard in the attic throughout the week and reported to technician. $40 fee Visit Six: Technician 2 came out again. No rats captured. Traps rebaited and moved around. Rodent activity was heard in the attic throughout the week and reported to technician. $40 fee Visit Seven: Technician 2 came out again. No rats captured. Traps rebaited and moved around. Rodent activity was heard in the attic throughout the week and reported to technician. $40 fee No visits scheduled or conducted for a few weeks after the holidays. Rodent activity was heard throughout this period. Technician 2 called attempting to schedule another visit. Discussed the lack of success by repeating same techniques. He agreed to change approach by applying more traps and using poison in the attic, crawlspace, and garage. Scheduled the visit. My expectation was that tech 2 would continue the work he had started. Visit Eight: Technician 3 came out. He stated that all he was told to do was put poison and more traps in the attic, which was not was what was discussed and agreed to with technician 2. Tech 3 was not familiar with the house and had not been told of previous trap placement and activities. Tech 3 placed the traps and poison in the attic and rebated the old traps. $40 fee. My step-daughter was no longer available to support visits M-F 8-5 and my wife and I leave for work before and return from work after the service hours. Discussed scheduling issue with Tech 2 and the dispatcher and they agreed to support a visit the follow week at approximately 5pm. I made it clear that I would be home around the 5 pm timeframe but it may be a little afterward. Rodent activities were heard in the attic throughout the week. Planned visit nine: Due to work issues and traffic, I was on track to be home around 5:20pm. Tech 2 called at 5:10 and stated that his dispatcher was pressing him to end his work day. I indicated that I was approximately 10 minutes or less from home. Tech 2 stated again that his dispatcher wanted him to return. I then cancelled the visit and discontinued service by All-Cities based primarily on poor performance (still had rodent infestation after eight visits) and scheduling constraints. All All-Cities staff were very personable and friendly. They listened to my concerns and did their best to address and accommodate them. Unfortunately, their actual overall performance was poor. Summary:' Total Cost $320 5 visits planned to resolve issue, 8 visits conducted issue unresolved 2 rats trapped ( effective rate: $160 per rat) I would not recommend All-Cities due to the ineffective performance and scheduling constraints All-Cities could better service their clients by changing service hours to end a 6pm and/or have a Saturday service window and changing ineffective extermination approaches earlier.

I contacted All Cities Pest Control and setup a bi-monthly program to spray around the exterior of my home. They were courteous and responsive; showed up on schedule for the first spray; explained their service and what would be done during each visit. I have enjoyed working with them so far.
