Custom Designs, Repair, maintenance and improvements. I do not have a crew or a helper. I work time & materials. I can only bid jobs up to $500.00 I normally do not do FREE estimates, but my proven record to give my clients valuable service at a decent price & can be seen by my reviews. I can provide references beyond ANGI, if requested.

Patrick replied to my emails and all of my questions, nice person.
He helped us clean our backyard. He took exactly two hours and my backyard
looked exactly, actually, a lot better than I was expecting! He brought his own
tools and took directions very well. I really didn?t have to say much. He came
and I showed him what I needed done and he quickly started working and did not
stop until he was finished. I definitely recommend his services.

, Patrick is wonderful!! He has creative solutions to problems and he works quickly. It is clear that he wants to do the work that you need in an efficient and thorough manner. He does odd jobs and I like him very much. I have recommended him to family and friends. I was impressed with the fact that he was on the job for three hours straight and did not take a break. He told me if I didn't fix it, when it rains the water runs into the garage. He is excellent and has charged me less sometimes. He does give me an estimate and he charges by the hour. He gives me a call if he is going to be late.

He explained everything quite well and provided the options, advising me on which ones are best for my home. He listens to what you have to say and throw in ideas on what would work. He is very patient and very thorough. I would recommend him. I'm not happy about the price but I'm going to live with that until I see the work done. He is super busy but he tries to fix me in his time and we work on schedule.

My main concern for the service was the removal of debris blocking the opening of my downspout located on my roof. With the impending big storm coming a couple of days later into SF, I really needed this taken care of ASAP. It was a simple task that I could've done myself except I didn't have a ladder to get on the roof. I found Patrick on Angie's List and gave him a call on Monday, 12/8, explained to him my situation and that all he needed was at least a 10' ladder to get on my flat roof. He was very nice on the phone and I emailed him a couple of pictures so he had an idea what he was dealing with. He said no problem and that he could come out tomorrow on Tuesday. I gave him a window between noon - 4pm that would work for me and that he would call me when he was on his way over. His quote was $60 per hour with 2 hour minimum for the job.
Patrick called as promised around 12:30 when he was on his way over and was at my place by 1pm. I showed him the access to the roof and he was easily able to get his ladder up there. He removed the debris that was blocking the downspout (a 12" piece of wood plank) and remnants of other wood debris that was on the roof. He even hauled it all away -- great! All this only took less than 30 minutes. So glad I had this taken care of before the storm!
But since I was paying for 2 hours, I decided to have him take care of a couple of other tasks too. My fluorescent kitchen lights were not working properly (had to toggle the switch several times to get them to turn on). The unit is really old so I thought it may be the wiring or something that's causing the current not connecting properly. I mentioned to Patrick that the fluorescent tubes (4) were replaced a few months ago so I didn't think they were the problem. He thought maybe it could be the transformer or that the whole unit needed to be replaced. But he did a little trouble-shooting and decided we should replace a couple of tubes in case they were defective so he did that (I still had extra tubes). The problem seemed to have been resolved and the lights were working properly again...until they didn't work and was having the same issue again later that evening. Patrick was good at helping to trouble-shoot and change the bulbs, but I think this may be a bigger issue and need to have an electrician deal with this one.
After the lights, I asked Patrick if he could re-caulk and seal the edges of the kitchen sink. The old sealant / caulk / grout around the sink had worn off after decades leaving gaps, which would cause water to leak down below into the kitchen sink cabinet if I wasn't careful when washing. He told me that grout should be used for the repair but he didn't have any, however I was ok with him using caulk instead. Someday the whole kitchen will be renovated so I was fine with him using caulk as a temporary fix. I just wanted the gaps sealed up. He chiseled and cleaned out as much as possible the old and mildewed grout and re-sealed the gaps with the caulk. I had a couple of tubes of latex caulk so he used what I gave him. He did a good job and the sink looks way better than before and more importantly -- no more leaks down into the cabinet!
He completed everything in 2 hours and was worth it. Overall, Patrick did a great job and I would definitely use him again for handyman tasks. Very nice guy!

"Hey (member name removed), Thank you for the review! If the lights keep going out it means it is the balast. I suggest getting new hard wired fixtures & switch them out. They are not very expensive. I can do it or an electrician can. They can't be fixed they are on their last legs. That is what I suggest as the least expensive and long lasting solution to the flickering lights.
