Westside Heating & Air Conditioning

Our 1944 home had only a wall heater.  Ron gave us a quote for installing AC and heating.  His quote arrived after only a few days of his inspection. Two of his workers arrived on time as promised and removed our wall heater and installed the new components in two days time.  They were very professional and although I was afraid that cutting into the ceiling to add the new registers would require us to have to do some patch work, I was pleasantly surprised that none was needed.  I was also afraid that dust and plaster residue would be all over our house after installation, but it wasn't.  They came on time, did a professional, clean job, and left us with a system that will, thankfully, serve us on hot, humid days as well as chilly winter days. I would recommend Westside wholeheartedly.

Called them up they arrived early began to work on our AC unit and did a great job. They gave  us reasonable pricing happy with the service thank you guys.

This was a townhouse HVAC install, so I had to get a permit which Westside helped me with. My townhouse is 4 stories tall and they had to use a heavy crane to lift the condesor on the roof--parking was tight but they were in and out in 30 min. My townhouse is also over 30 years old and the return air shaft used wall cavity instead of duct. This is not allowed in new home construction and my wall duct system was really discusting and full of 30 plus years of dust! Westside managed to create a clean return air path using insulation materials. This was very importany to me since I have 3 kids and I didn't want them breathing old dust! Ron, the owner came out in person and recommened a system tailored to my needs. His crew was fantastic and very polite. They even took care of my 220 Volt electrical needs for the new system. Another very cool thing they did for me was instaling a wifi thermostat which I can control from my iphone or ipad. This is just great. I hightly recommend Westside, they will give you great service at a fair price.

Westside Heating and AC were responsive when I called, gave me the details on cost and time, pleasant and helpful on the phone. I ended up having to replace the unit due to complications but now they will repair it at any time since they installed it; not possible before due to it being another brand.  Ron is always  very nice to work with, good personality,  professional, knowledgeable.  I feel very confident in their work and will definitely call again.  They are my providers of choice in the Santa Monica area.  They handled the job in efficient manner, no problems at any time.

 We built our home 20 years ago, never thinking that we would someday want A/C.  We spent the past two years talking this over, and dreading the prospect.  Interviewed several companies and requested bids from two.  Price-wise, the two bids were quite similar.  We chose Westside Heating because we were really impressed with Ron?s attention to detail, both during his inspection and in the subsequent proposal.  Since our existing heater was 20 years old, we chose to install both AC and a new heating system.
John and Kathy in the office kept us well-informed as to possible installation dates. Challenges presented by how our house was constructed resulted in modifications to the original proposal, but Ron was very clear in explaining the problems and the proposed changes.  Even though changes were made, Westside honored the contracted price.
The installation was a dream.  Please note that we are a white house with white carpeting, 17 stairs between the front door and the heater/AC installation site, and 30 outside steps from the street to where the condenser was to be installed.  The installation team: Mike, Matt and Jay were the best: Clean, efficient, courteous and capable.  Two days later, the job was done.
 All in all  -  a great experience.  We happily recommend Westside Heating and AC to anyone and everyone.  True professionals.

I just wanted to reiterate what I said in 2011 after the installation of my HVAC system.  Mr. Wrinkleman advised and designed the system for my house which at the time had no modern ducts for the heating and none for air conditioning.  The price was fair, not the lowest and not the highest of the estimates.  The company did a great job, clean, efficient and started and finished in five days. 
Every year since I have them come out to service the system.  It operates still like it's brand new.  I have had no problems with the efficiency of the system.  Since this is an owner operated, small company, I sometimes have to wait two months to get the service in the summer months because they are so busy.  That's how good their reputation and workmanship is.  I know if I had an emergency they would be right there, but since I've never had a problem I can wait two months just to have the system serviced.  Because they are that good I would highly recommend them.

I have always experienced great service from this company.   Many years ago I had a Trane heating system installed by another company who since went out of business.    I then started calling Westside whenever I needed a service call (filter change etc).   They were always very prompt and helpful ... and one weekend they even came out at the last minute when I had a problem with my heating.    Then recently I decided to add air conditioning too.    A/C is quite a hefty expense so I did a lot of research and I took a long time deciding if I wanted to proceed.    Ron was very patient and answered every question I had and was very thorough in explaining all the options.  Even though several months went by until I finally decided to go ahead Ron never appeared pushy.   He actually came out to my house 3 times to go over everything prior to even starting the job.    Then the day of the job all his crew (including Garcia Electrical) were very professional and I felt the work was in very capable hands.     I also wanted to have a permit.     The city inspector came to look over everything a week later and granted the permit without any complications.   I am very glad I now have A/C and also that I chose Westside to do the work.

Ron and his crew are the best!  They communicate well, are prompt, did perfect work and cleaned up well.  We're very happy with our experience with them, especially on hot and humid days!  We'd highly recommend them.

Westside Heating and air is always prompt and professional.  They are a Family run operation so you always work with the same reliable people. They call back quickly. The pricing is fair and the installation ran smoothly. The new system is running perfectly.

This is a company where you're able to deal personally with the owners. They were extremely professional and pleasure to deal with. They pesronally assessed the work that needed to be done and oversaw its execution. Their pricing seemed fair based on other bids received, and I plan to use the company moving forward for routine maintenance of furnace and air conditioning units.

It was perfect! They arrived on time, finished early, did a precise job and did not leave any mess at all! Matt and Jay are a great team and good communicators too. I will always use these guys for any HVAC needs I may have.

Westside HVAC is fabulous. They were on time for every appointment.  They provided clear and easy to understand quotes for the work. They were quick and accommodating when we asked to see the differences in price of alternative system configurations. And in the end, their price for the system we wanted was by far the best.  The installation went very smooth and they finished ahead of schedule, even after having to trouble-shoot and solve a software glitch with the Lennox wifi system.  They were clean and professional the entire time they were working in our house.  We highly recommend Westside HVAC.

The Duct Work install also went smoothly, efficiently and professionally.   Carpets were covered again,  each room air vent was taped over as an extra consideration of family health issues,  a 3 man crew was assigned in order to be in and out in a limited amount of time and old ducts were bagged and taped in the attic before taking outside.   They were a well coordinated team.
The reconfiguring of the ducts in the attic is obviously so much better than our previous layout, leaving much more servicable floor space. 
Westside Heating crew, as well as the office contacts of Ron, John & Kathy have been super responsive, professional and efficient at communicating, installing and trouble shooting.   We highly  recommend this company and their staff.   We appreciated working with a local small business and with those who obviously have pride in their workmanship and their company reputation.  Thank you for all your considerations and expertise.
 

Mike and his crew were fantastic! We went to five different installers for estimates. (One from Costco, one a neighbor recommended, and three from Angie's List.) Two struck me as incompetent. Of the three I judged competent one was priced significantly higher than the other two. Westside and one of the others both seemed very competent and price competitive. In addition to competence, Mike was very straightforward and seemed like someone I wanted to work with. I went with Westside and am very glad I did. Westside was one of the companies we got from Angie's List.
Our system was over 30 years old and the old ducts were asbestos wrapped. The asbestos had to be removed by a company that specialize in that, and though I paid them directly Mike arranged it. They (P.W. Stephens Environmental) did a
good job at a fair price.That was the first day. The second and third day were Mike and crew installing new heating and a/c equipment, new ducting, creating a new air outlet in the kitchen (there was none), and a number of other things that needed to be done.
The work was done extremely well and with great consideration for us and the property. All the work looks great. Everything was cleaned up. They even vacuumed. Nothing was harmed or broken. And they were nice people to have around. Even our dogs liked them!
Now that we've had a few hot days I can say the system works great! The upstairs office,once too hot to work in on a warm afternoon, is comfortable throughout the day. The kitchen, which lacked an air outlet and was stifling, is now nice and cool even with the oven on.
I could go on and on but why? We couldn't be happier and give Westside our highest recommendation. They're terrific!

I got quotes from 3 good heating and air conditioning firms to assess my needs and provide a quote for a new system.  Westside Heating and Air Conditioning had the best solution and price of the 3 companies. Westside was very easy to work with and Ron and his team met with me several times to answer all my questions and explain the pros and cons of different options to meet my needs. I liked that their recommendations were based on practical solutions that would do a good job and did not included any expensive products that would be over kill. The system I chose provided everything I wanted and was well below the cost of the other two competitors' bids.
Installation started on time and was complete in less than 2 days. Westside was prompt and responsive in every phase of the job. The crew is very experienced and did a quality job.  They kept me informed on the job status along the way and got my input on matters when needed. There was one change I wanted after the install was complete and they came back the next day to take care of it.
I am very happy with the performance of my new systems from Westside and I am confident  that I did not need the more  expensive and elaborate equipment recommended in the 2 other competitors' bids  to meet my heating and air conditioning requirements.

After last summer, we agreed it was time for AC.  I took several bids and Westside was firmly in the middle.  When getting the estimate, I appreciated that they listened to what I wanted.  We were able to make small tweaks to the bid in a timely fashion and schedule the install. I felt that they suggested just the right amount of work for our needs.  Some bids were overkill and others I was suspicious that would leave me with a good system.  We were able to add on to an existing, newer furnace system without any problem.  The team was very communicative...letting me know when they would arrive and what they needed to move things forward.  It was a two day install and the team arrived on time both mornings and got right to work.  The updates to the heating system have made it very quiet.  I have not tested the AC yet (because... February), but everything seems in good working order.  They cleaned up very well and it was like they never were there.  In general, I wish all of my projects were so easy.  I was (intentionally) doing this project during the slow season, but if you have to wait during the busy season it may be worthwhile to get someone who knows what they are doing (either for install or repair), and really gets the job done.  Westside is an excellent provider. 

I had a 25 year old heater which was not working efficiently or safely anymore.  I knew it was time to replace it so I got three bids from three Angie's List providers.  Westside Heating's bid was competitive with the others but price was not my sole criteria.
Westside's professionalism was evident from the start.  Ron (one of the owners) thoroughly examined every inch of my home, answered all of my questions clearly and presented different solutions.  Scheduling the work was easy and the installation went flawlessly.  Mike (the other owner), Ron's son Matt, and Jay finished the job in one day.  
I like that Westside is a family business that clearly takes pride in its work and strives to make the customer happy.  There is no hard sell.  Ron's original bid had a less expensive heater and I was the one who chose an upgrade.  They were very respectful of my home and cleaned up after themselves.  All in all, I would say it was one of the best experiences I have had during my 25 years of home ownership.  I highly recommend them.
