Five Branches Integrative Health Center

The clinic is in conjunction with an institute called Five Branches University which is an educational institute for oriental medicine. You can go in there and get treated by the interns or you can get treated by the teachers. The whole clinic is extraordinary with the services they offer. You can get a treatment by an intern supervised by a teacher for $25.00. That is for everybody. If you want a teacher to treat you in what's called a round where she is demonstrating what she is doing with a group of students and she is the one who is actually doing the treatment, that's $40.00. You make an appointment with an advanced student there in which case it costs $25.00. They do an evaluation which includes taking your health history and pulse. They consult with their specific instructor and then they come back and treat you with acupuncture or moxibustion which is copying different systems they use. If you go in and make an appointment with an instructor, that is called rounds and it is $40.00. You are treated by the instructor but of course it's a teaching situation with the instructor and 4-6 students who watch the instructor giving the examination and asking the questions and taking the pulse. Everyone takes the pulse because they are learning what happens and what is needed. The instructor is the one that does the acupuncture or moxibustion. There is a wonderful teacher called Mariposa Bernstein. She is just incredible. She is also in private practice and I have seen her in private practice as well.
