"Yes , we did not show because it rained .. and unfortunately we have no way of washing/detailing a vehicle in the rain and always call to let our clients know if we are rained out to reschedule which I did in this case as well"
2/17/2015 - Update: After a year, the windows still look great. The car was noticeably cooler during this last year since the windows were done. And still, no bubbling. I highly recommend them!

"When we arrived to the job site and before any work was done we let the client know that there were etch marks in the clear coat finish of the vehicle from bird droppings . The customer called me while my crew was there to see if there was anything that could be done while we were there to remove these marks ans I told her that unfortunately they were through he paints finish and the vehicle in those areas would need to be repainted . I also let her know that at this point all you can do is to protect the finish of the paint to help from keep from happening in the future . After we finished the detail which was a complete detail including the Interior and Exterior the client paid us $130.00 . 2 weeks later she called me and said that after it rained a couple times there were water spots on her car from the rain and said that we must not have done our job correctly and insisted I go and take a look at it . She said that she took the vehicle to a car wash after it rained and I asked if the water spots were still there after and she said NO they were all gone and I said GREAT that means the wax we put on your car worked and did its job and she replied well the car looks the same as it did before you waxed it . She was told by here neighbor that the car should not water spot if it was waxed and I explained to her that if the car has dust or dirt on it and it gets wet from rain drops it will leave dirt spots on her car and she said that that does not make sense and it should get spots on it . She was not listening to any thing I had to say and only wanted to argue about it with me . She complained to Angies that I said things and thought things that I never even said to her and wants her money back on a job that we already did . She also watched us the whole time we were there polish and wax and detail her car so she knows we did what we were there to do and her only complaint is that after it rained the dirt spots appeared and the cars finish . I am not in business to lose money or give clients free details ."
The crew arrived after 9:00 A.M. to start work on my vehicle. Alex and I performed an inspection, prior to commencing work , and due to some hard water spots on the passenger's side he suggested an Acid Wash and Teflon coating be performed to clean and protect the paint from such contaminates. He said the price was normally $125, but would give it today for $75. I agreed to the upgrade of services. The next thing I knew he had opened the hood and was trying to sell me an detailing of the engine compartment. I said that I was not interested and we moved on.
After hearing the high pressure washer shutdown, I went out to see how things were going and to ask about the Clay Bar treatment listed in the Angie's List Package for $144. I was informed that Clay Baring was an outdated procedure.
Alex came to report that they were finished and stated that I owed him another $125 for the job. $75 for the Acid Wash and $50 because it was a pickup. I said that I needed to check out the job before writing the check ( The original $144 was prepaid with a credit card ). Upon check the truck, it was noted that the passenger side side step chrome and wheel/hubcaps were all covered with hard water spots ( deposits ) . I inquired about why this was still existing. I was told that they had no means of getting rid of the deposits. My wife brought out some metal polish and tried to see if would remove the spots. It worked if you really worked h****** it. The Crew showed no interest in attempting to remedy the situation, so in desperation, I sent them on.
After they left, I got some of my "Turtle Wax Chrome Cleaner" and proceeded to remove all of the hard water spots/deposits from the wheels/hubcaps and side step. It took me about 30 minutes to complete the job. To say I was upset, would be an understatement.
After much thought, I decided to call Mark , at the home office, to inform him of my dealings with his crew. I told him of the problem with the water spots and how I resolved it. He wanted to know what I was asking for, and stated that he would discuss the situation with Alex and either Alex or he would get back to me. I asked him about whether the Clay Bar treatment was still being used by his company. His answer was "Yes" and asked why. I told him what Alex had stated.
I received a call from Alex asking about my discussion with his boss. I told him that I had taken care of the problem ( Hard Water spots) with Turtle Wax Chrome Cleaner and a little elbow grease. I had paid extra to have that taken care of. He informed me that the treatment was only for the painted surfaces. I told him of my displeasure with his services although he was a very pleasant individual. I stated that he was hired so I didn't have to do the job, but I ended up having to finishing the job.
His response was that he would come back in six months and let him wash and wax my truck for $75.00. I asked him if I wasn't satisfied with his job now, why would I want to pay him for another try. I requested that he return some of the cost I had incurred and was told that had been money he had earned for working on my vehicle.
Figuring we were at an impasse, I ended the call. Mark has never called back to inquire if the situation had been resolved
I will not recommend anybody to use Starr Detailing Inc. not only for the quality of their work, but for their Professionalism. I have performed work for people before and their satisfaction came before my profits. Just good business. !!!
2/10/14 - When Mark says that he was informed that I was already going to give him a bad review, this is simply untrue. I in fact called him stating that I wanted to give him a chance to make the situation right. He said he or Alex (the one performing the detailing) would call me back. I heard from Alex and he stated that he couldn't give me any money back and he stated he did not have the equipment on his truck to get the water spots off the chrome. My wife even brought out some chrome cleaner and he seemed satisfied to just simply leave the spots there. I told him that it seemed inconceivable that he had never encountered water spots before. He offered to clean my car again in 6 months for a reduced rate and I advised him that if I was not happy with the work now, then I would not use his services in the future. He told me he could not refund any money and that he would have his supervisor call me. I have yet to hear from the owner of Starr and will not be using their services again.
"Yes we did have to reschedule our original appointment since our water pump went out on the way to the job on the day scheduled . The customer did call me before I had called him when we were running late because my crew was stuck on the freeway and I had been busy on the phone trying to locate a tow truck to get us off the freeway we were stuck on and to a repair shop . On the date rescheduled as noted above we were right on time . The customer pre paid for an offer that Angies ran and the additional $50 was for an SUV charge which he was informed before arriving to the job and when scheduling the appointment . The extra $75.00 that was paid on top of the $50 bringing the total to $125.00 was for a Teflon paint sealant and there was no charge for removing water spots or acid treatment . We used a non abrasive clear coat cleaner to polish the vehicle and then protected with the Teflon after . When my crew was finished with the job we pointed out right away to the customer the water spots that were left on there and could not be removed by us and after speaking to him on the phone after the job was done he was very happy with the work we performed other then the water spot that were left on his steps and hub caps , all the water spots were removed form the painted surface of the vehicle but he insisted in receiving $50.00 Back from us since he was not happy with the remaining water spots which we did not even charge him for in the beginning . I was already informed by the client that he would be giving us a bad review On Angies list since we were not going to give him back at least $50.00 ."
