Sunday we had a terrible smell coming from our Vents when Heater was turned on. Went a week without heat. Our normal company, URSO, was not available until Friday. Called local flyer company, 2 letters name, and their 2 guys came out. They swore it was a Coil leak. Stuck a scope in coil case and said see there is the leak. They offered to replace system cost up to $13k. URSO Air from Sand Pedro technician Sergio came in and proved NO LEAK. 5 stars. (Turned out to be a computer burnt out in another room.) URSO comes out 2 times a year to check system. Well worth normal service fee.

It is the pea of the hot summer season so it took a while to get on their schedule. But technician came on time and very efficiently replaced pump at what I felt was a very fair price.

The representative was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and very professional. It is between them and one other company for the work. We received a bid right away and Gina in the office is bright and responsive. We need to flyer a revised bid because we are reducing the scope of the work. The representative tried to talk us out of a couple items, and we have decided he was right. My only criticism is that the bid was not itemized such that we can tell how much each piece of the project will cost.

Sadly this happened over Christmas and New Years week, so we did freeze during this time.  No fault to the company. Urso came in and got it all done in one day, including taking out all old ducts in two attics, installing new ducts; taking an old air conditioner off the roof and putting a new one on the roof. Putting a new furnace in the walk in attic and filter.  Was very happy to have heat but the walls took a couple of days to warm up.

Originally called a few air conditioner companies to remove (at the request of the roofers who were installing a new roof) a non-working air conditioner unit from the roof. Time was of the essence, and Urso came out in one day (others never even called me back within a week) and Urso's price was 1/4 the estimate of one company to remove the huge/heavy unit from the roof (on Christmas Eve!!!) Had other projects being done around the house, so finally got around to calling Will four months later to refurb the unit he had taken off the roof. He honored his estimate (actually had taken the time to give me three different estimates including an all-new unit), was again the lowest price of the other estimates, and the unit was installed and working wonderfully three days later! Everyone from Barbara (the receptionist) , the workers, to Will (the owner) were very kind and answered every question I had during the installation and spent extra time after the installation explining how to efficiently use the unit. Even though it was not included in the estimate, Will replaced a and quot;Stickyand quot; fan on the unit at no charge, claiming he wanted me 100% happy and did not want to have me possibly call him back months later if the fan should fail Very happy with my air conditioner and the fantastic experience with Urso Air!

Response from Urso Air Systems

"This is our only bad review on any social media sites. This install was actually from 2006, which we and every other sub contractor were not allowed to finish. Interesting to see a negative review show up eight years later. We are here to help and do a great job for everyone in our community that's is willing start, finish and pay for there project."

Initial contact and quote evolution was good. William showed up at the planned time and provided what was ultimately the winning bid. I had this work bid on by about 5 different contractors. The work was to be performed after we closed on the house., which was about 3 weeks after the quotes. Once selected, it was somewhat difficult to arrange the install date. William did not respond to phone, text or email very quickly, sometimes it took several days or not at all. I finally contacted the main office and questioned the lack of responsiveness. Then the install date was set.
Once the install date was set, they showed up on time and went to work. The installers, William's brother and another worker completed most of the work over two days. They installed the unit outside, removed ducting, ran cooling lines and installed the coil inside. They also recommended using a pump, to pump the condensate outside, by the HVAC unit. They did not dig a required condensate drain pit as part of the install.

I was concerned about the noise from the condensate pump as it was in the hall closet. The pump was quiet until it got to the bottom of the tank and then it made a loud slurping sound. It took quite a while, couple weeks, and several attempts to contact William, before I contacted the main office (his mother runs office) before William came and removed the pump and connected to an inside drain line I had a plumber install for it.

Came home from work and the AC wasn't working. Went out and checked the fuses and looked to see what was running and what wasn't. My system is only 8 years old and only had one other problem which was a freak and caused a clogged drain line that shorted out the control board.. So when I went out back and checked the condenser and saw it wasn't running I hoped it wasn't the compressor since that is difficult to fix and probably the most expensive.. Found URSO on the list.. Left a online request with times the evening before.. They called first thing in the morning and set up the appointment they were the only company of the five I inquired with that responded.. Came as promised and fixed the problem. I know they were busy this being one the hottest days of the summer. They had me call the office and give them my credit card. When I called they told me if anything went wrong that they would come right back. Can't ask for anything more.

Urso Air contractors (3) showed up on the day expected, they were on time, worked from early morning until late afternoon. Their work was neat and clean and they did a great job with the installation. I only wish we had done this years ago.

Our old Goodman AC compressor happens to be the loudest on the block. And these last few heat waves in RPV had me thinking of looking into a new more efficient system. I looked online and our AC was rated for 10 SEER while base models today start at 13 SEER and higher.
I had a few companies provide me estimates but I was referred to Urso Air Systems and directly to Will Urso by my real estate agent. She has used him in the past many times and said that Will was straight forward, honest and his prices were decent and his services were great. So I already had a high expectation going in.
Will was able to accomodate my schedule to come over in the evening after work to walk through the house. Will spent an hour explaining what he saw with my current system, what he thought should be replaced and his recommendations. He was honest and provided different options of condensor systems. We talked a little bit about moving my unit over to the side of the house and going with a European style horizontal condenser system but he was honest and said that it would be nice but would add a lot of cost, the unit itself although very slim won't have the same rating in efficiencies with other units.
He was frank and said that a higher energy efficient, traditional vertical system, might be quiet enough that it wouldn't bother us and quiet enough to have parties outside. In the end, he said moving the AC unil wouldn't add much more property value but spending the money into a higher efficiency unit will save energy cost.
We looked at the furance unit and we talked about replacing the unit or not. Again, Will was straight forward and said that the unit was old, definitely not broken, but from a stand point of being able to save cost overall, he already has to take the condensers out and at that point, switching the furnace would be easier.
We discussed all the options and I asked him to send me an e-mail with the base work with options. He had verbally provide some numbers of the cost, and in my head I had assume that was mostly just the material and parts cost. When I finally got the quote, the price of the base work and options were pretty much what he had said verbally. I was surprised of the overall cost to put in the new AC system, new duct work, new furance and new thermostat versus other contractors who provided me quote. The other contractors were more than 50% more expensive than Urso Air Systems. When talking with the other contractors, their selling point was the brand. They stated that Carrier was a much better system than York.
I did some research online and never really found any complaints about how much more inferior York was.
After agreeing on installing the system on 9/15 back in late August, a few days later our AC system finally died. The compressor itself was leaking refrigerant and oil. I immediately called Will to see if he could come install the AC system sooner since I had a newborn at home and a wife who was just healing from giving birth with temperatures outside reach 95F. Will tried his hardest to squeeze me in earlier but the earliest he could do was 9/4. He did however offer to show up to the house one day to see if he could fix it. He said he could definitely fix but the job would require welding and recharging of the lines. The old refrigerant was not eco friendly and expensive. It would have totalled to $400. He recommended that if I could wait out, it's best to save the money. I ended up buying a portable AC for one room where my baby and wife could just hang out in. That was probably a much better investment of the $400 for something I could use in the future.
When the installation date came, not only was Will and his crew on time, they were early. Because Will knew we had a newborn, he told the crew that this job had to be done in one day. It sounded like sometimes a job of this magnitude, they would take 2 days but he understood our needs and had his team work a long day to get it done.
The crew themselves were very polite and considerate of the fact that we had a newborn. They did their best to lay down tarp to protect our floors. Being an engineer, I had a lot of questions as they were doing the install and they were patient enough to answer all my questions. When they cut the ducting, they did a good job of minimizing all the dry wall dust as they sawed the hole. When installing the furnace, they were putting a larger unit than the original from a ducting size. I asked one of the two crew members if the whole for the intake was too small where the furance was going to sit. He said it would be okay, but could get a better air flow if he could open it up. He took a look at it and said he could definitely do it and asked if I wanted to. I said yes sure if it's not too much trouble. He did it with no issues. I never really knew if that was part of the service or it was extra, but I was never billed for more.
After everything was installed, the crew did a good job in cleaning up their mess, vacuuming in all the areas that they had my dust. Will Urso came back at the end of the installation to do a walk through to make sure everything was completed. He made adjustments to the system, added more R410 and walk me through the thermostat.
All in all I was very happy with the work. Will Urso was always responsive and his prices were very competitive. His crew, only two guys for this job, did a lot in one day, were nice, polite and respectful. I would absolutely recommend my family and friends to use Urso Air Systems for maintainence work or installing a new system. I would definitely use him again, assuming I'm at this house in 10 years.
