Servpro Of Palos Verdes

Initially I thought it went well, although I had doubts that for such a small area so many fans and dehumidifiers were truly needed. I expressed my concerns more than once and was told that all of this equipment was definitely needed. I recalled many years ago when we had a flood in the same area, but that flood was many times worse, and two, perhaps three at the most, fans / dehumidifiers were used (by a different company). Servpro fit in as many units as could possibly fit into the two areas affected - over ten pieces of equipment! Of course there is a charge for each unit each day of use. Towards the end of the ordeal, a baseboard was removed. I asked why it was removed as we were nearing the end of the ordeal, as everything was about 99% dry, and I got a shrug of the shoulders. It made no sense, except monetarily for Servpro. I called to ask Servpro to replace the baseboard and was told I should do it. I very politely said that this was not acceptable and I would like a call back from the technician who removed it. I never got a call back from anyone - and the baseboard is still off (a couple of weeks later). I'll have to hire someone who is skilled at this, as I am not. When I got Servpro's bill for $2,300 I called and reminded them that I was promised that there would be an adjustment made to my bill, given my high insurance deductible. Nope, sorry, there will be no adjustment - despite what had been promised to me when I originally called Servpro and stated that I was considering using another company who clearly told me, "We'll work with you when it comes time to pay us, given your high insurance deductible." Servpro CLEARLY stated that they would do the same for me, but they CLEARLY WENT BACK ON THEIR WORD. That was enough to convince me to never use Servpro again, and to make me very, very suspicious the necessity for so many machines. Yes, they are the experts, they said, but please . . . This was way over the top and allowed them to run up as large a bill as possible. Servpro came highly recommended by my insurance company. I'm very sorry I didn't go with their competition.
