From explanation of service, to installation and then installation, San Marino Securities did a fine job. All appointments were easily made, employees were punctual, helpful and there was easy communication throughout all phases. Their friendliness and patience with explanations was very much appreciated. We would absolutely recommend San Marino Securities and their service.

Phil, his office staff and on-site technicians have all been friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. Phil took the time both before & after the install to explain & demonstrate, as well as answer a list of prepared questions. The install technicians were equally forthcoming about the system, friendly and respectful of our home. Highly recommended!

What a great experience! We purchased a 1926 single-story Spanish-style house that had two old alarm systems tangled about the basement and ancient components located throughout the house. Nothing worked and with such a spread out floor plan we felt having a new, fully-functional alarm system was key to our comfort in the new house.
We researched many options, including installing the system ourselves which we had done in our previous home, and interviewed several companies. Phil, the owner of San Marino Security and a retired Sergeant from the San Marino Police Dept., personally came out to inspect our situation and consult with us about the best approach to take with our property. His recommendations were spot-on and also took into consideration the aesthetics we were trying to maintain with a somewhat historic building site.
Ours was a BIG job, with 2 keypads and nearly 30 hardwired door/window sensors having to be installed, as well as motion, glass break, smoke and heat detectors, and 2 sirens. The entire project took 2 days, was done very neatly and cleanly, and ultimately cost $3,800 (which was mid-range of all the estimates we received - not the lowest, but not the highest).
Regarding cost, keep in mind that until a project is actually complete you don't necessarily know what the final cost is going to be, so for all we know the other slightly lower estimates we received could have ultimately cost as much if not more than ours did. Something else to consider is that a security system is an investment in your property and, when done correctly, will add value to your home as well as your piece-of-mind. Now, whenever we go away or secure the system at night, our thought isn't and quot;Jeez that cost a lotand quot; but rather and quot;We're SO glad we made that investment!and quot; Trust us, it's worth it.

Several things stood out with San Marino Security vs. the other companies that convinced us to go with them:
- NO LONG-TERM CONTRACT (bigger companies often entice homeowners with promises of a and quot;free security system installedand quot; but only the fine print explains that the and quot;systemand quot; consists of very minimal components and a long-term, i.e. 2-3 year, contract that turns out to be very pricey);
- 5-YEAR WARRANTY on all parts when using their monitoring;
- NO CHARGE FOR SERVICE CALLS (this can save you a bundle if your system requires servicing);
- Very responsive to service requests (they want your system operating flawlessly and can usually get a technician out within a day or two if they're busy);
- Reasonable monthly fee ($30.25/mo. if the year is paid for in one installment, otherwise $33/mo. - remember, having them do the monitoring also gets you the 5-year warranty and there is real value to that);
- Excellent customer service (we needed help changing some features on our keypads and their office gladly walked us through the programming steps);
- Free lawn signs (some companies charge you for the privilege of advertising their company!)
Overall, we were very pleased with our experience with San Marino Security Systems and can see why so many of our immediate neighbors and other properties throughout the area work with them. We would gladly and confidently recommend them to anyone in their service area.

Was not selected due to company's inability to provide monitoring via internet or VOIP (ATT Uverse) technology. We selected another Angie's Llst provider who has both those capabilities and also has it's own armed patrolmen who respond to alarms. San marino only call the LAC Sheriff. Using San Marino would have required us to buy a traditional land line at a minimum of $20 per month just for the security monitoring function.

This company came out on 08/06/13. Jim Anderson was the representative. I shared with Jim what my current challenges are, what my needs are, and what I wanted. They sold the brand I wanted. Great! I went to that brand's demo web site and sat with Jim and explained (and showed) the functionality I wanted / needed. Long story short: I spent a lot of time with Jim. He was a great guy; but, I should have known I was in trouble when he told me I knew more about this than he did. I asked him if I could get his proposal by Friday (we met on Tuesday). He looked at me with a surprised look - because it was only Tuesday - and said that he could. Today is Saturday, 08/10/13. I called them at 8 a.m. Friday morning and Jim hadn't gotten in yet. No problem! She took my name, number, and message, and said Jim would call me back. I have yet to see a proposal. I hate it when companies waste your time and don't follow up / follow through. I have a $5700 quote from another company that I wasn't too excited about; however, they've done everything they said they would. They're well known. And, can deliver everything for which I asked. So, I guess I will have to give them a try.

The installation was okay. We are still working on some touch up things. What's nice about them is that if you need any additional sensors there is not extra charge for them to come out. They only charge for big things. It is quite pricey upfront, but you don't pay extra afterwards.

I wanted a security system installed in my home in Oct 2008. San Marino Security was recommended highly by an acquaintance, so I called for a quote. The owner himself came to my home and thoroughly assessed the security needs. He was very professional, courteous, and seemed honest. He presented me with what, in my opinion, was a reasonable quote. Because I was impressed with his expertise and seemingly true interest in providing me with a quality security system and monitoring service, I chose San Marino to install and monitor my security system. The system was installed in 1 day by a knowledgeable team that took extreme care to minimize visibility of any equipment/wires.

That was 3 years ago, and I still have San Marino Security. I cannot say enough kind things about this company. The monitoring service calls me within seconds whenever the alarm sounds. When I call for someone to service the system, I am likely put on the schedule the same day! I have also called after hours and received a return call (sometimes from the owner himself!) within a few minutes. The technicians are always courteous and answer all my concerns. In my previous home I used a different company, and in my experience, San Marino Security has been far superior. I have, and will continue to recommend this company to friends.
