I have used them twice and the first time was a drive up and there was a 20 minute wait.  They were courteous and kept me informed as to when I would get the check done.  They also told me they take appointments.  Wow I came in at the assigned time and 15 minutes later I was out and on the road again.

I joined Angie's List today looking for a shop to Smog Test our 2005 VW Touareg. Although this shop only had one report it was close so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. Joe, the owner, spent most of his career working as a mechanic as various Ford dealerships around San Diego. He's clearly over qualified for doing Smog Checks, but he's a pro at all he does - and I was impressed with how he presented himself, how 'together' his shop was, and you could tell he loves what he does.

The shop accepted a coupon. I paid and lt;$40 and was in an out the door, good for 2 yrs before I have to be retested, in under 30 minutes with no appointment. I highly recommend Joe and his shop without hesitation.

Our vehicle (2005) was due for a smog test and I went to one smog check station who couldn't get his machine to read the rpm on our vehicle. It turns out that "newer" vehicles nowadays (especially German vehicles) have digital (not analog) system so there are times the smog test station's older machines cannot get an accurate read. Although I like that previous station as well, I wish he informed me beforehand when I called in that he was having intermittent issues with German vehicles. So instead of driving around, I called this station first and Joe was accommodating and confident they can get their machine to read it. I made an appointment (although it wasn't necessary) and they were able to do it quickly and with their coupon, total (smog test with certification) came out to $40.00. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I will definitely go there again because I like supporting small businesses, and I know that next time they will be able to get their machine to communicate with our vehicle. (Note: When going for smog test, I recommend calling first with your car's year make and model. Some stations have older machines and they can't read the newer car's system properly. This will save you time).
