Left them a voicemail with a brief description of my electrical problem, which involved a bad ground on an outlet. Mark called me back fairly quickly. I give them an A for their responsiveness. Once I explained my problem, he told me they don't do that type of work and that they "are slammed right now". I don't see how an outlet with a bad ground is not something that an company advertising themselves as electricians would not work on. I thanked him for his time and hung up. I guess they are too busy doing glamorous work like installing Tesla charging outlets.

This a very short-sighted attitude. We eventually will need a panel upgrade and other assorted electrical work. Guess who I won't be calling? Willow Glen Electric.

"Hi [Member Name Removed], Thank you for speaking with me on the phone just now. I'm sorry you had a negative impression of Mark yesterday. We did call you back shortly after you first called to let you know that we are busy, and recommended calling another local "408" electrician. I called this morning to learn from your experience, and we will use your feedback to improve our customer service in the future. Good luck with your electrical project. Best regards, Matt Londre Sr. Project Manager Willow Glen Electric, Inc. (408) 705-3663 - cell (408) 289-9725 ext. 1 - office"

increased that value of my house because now I could charge up an electric car. I do not have an electric car and have no intention of ever buying one.

Since Matt installed the new breaker box I have checked with two other electricians and they both said the old box was not dangerous and did not need to be replaced. I found a realtor's inspection report for my house. It said the box should be serviced once in a while.

I feel Matt was very disrespectful to me. Mark called me a baby and said he did not need to tell me everything he was doing.

Response from Willow Glen Electric

"[removed member name] We believed that any misunderstandings had been resolved after receiving your letter dated December 13, 2013 apologizing for giving us "such a bad time" and wishing us a "happy Christmas holiday." We e-mailed you a detailed response to this review as soon as we became aware of it, and we are willing to publish our response and supporting documentation on Angies List if need be. We have nothing to hide, treat each customer with respect, and perform all work up to code in a neat and workmanlike manner. Your job (approved by a City of San Jose Inspector) was a very normal installation which hundreds of previous customers have been very satisfied with. Our e-mail provides options if you wanted to go to that length. We expect this review to be removed immediately and all maliciously false defamation, slander, and libel to stop permanently. Respectfully, Mark & Peggy Londre Willows Glen Electric, Inc."

I didn't have a very good experience with them. Other than the kid that came out to do the work, they were dashing each other on the ladder. There was a lot of force play. I happened to be home seeing it. I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't told them just knock it off. There were some unsafe practices going on. In addition to that there were a number of problems like the lighting didn't work well afterwards. They didn't do everything that they said they were going to do. We ultimately called someone else. We didn't even want to deal with them again. They may have fixed everything but we were really rushed getting ready for a wedding. They were responsive.
Response from Willow Glen Electric

"Hi Member, No installation should ever be done as you have described. All our work comes with a warranty to ensure proper installations each and every time. It is a rare occasion when we need to fix an installation, but if a customer calls with an issue, we always take the time to ensure their issues are solved. Staying silent about an issue as serious as this for 3+ years is unfair to both our company and yourself, as we take extreme pride in our workmanship and customer service. Had we been alerted to this in a timely manner, the electricians involved would have been suspended (or terminated), your work would have been fixed properly, and you would have been given the proper restitution. Regards, Mark Londre Owner Willow Glen Electric"

They were very quick to respond. They delivered what they said they would deliver on or before when they delivered it. They did excellent work. Their pricing also was very good especially when compared to other electricians. I would use them again.

The technician was about half an hour late due to morning traffic, but he was very professional and courteous. The panel replacement took most of the day and went without a hitch. However, parts of the house was still without power even with the new panel. The technician came back the next morning (late again due to traffic) and studied the problem. He seemed very experienced and narrowed down the source of the problem to the garage. After another 2 hours of testing and tracking the circuits, he found an old and burnt wire crimp as the source of problem and fixed it promptly. He even went back to touch up on the stucco he applied yesterday around the new panel. A very professional job overall.

We were overall very impressed with them. They were actually willing to come out the same day that we called them, but we just weren’t ready for them. We scheduled 2 weeks out in order to get the ceiling fan and all the moving pieces in place. They showed up on time and did a great job. I thought it was may be a little on the expensive side. However, we weren’t really certain about what the hourly rate would be or whatever. They left us a detailed receipt.

They did really good quality work. They cleaned up well after themselves. The installation was done really well, all of the lights fit exactly well and everything works the way it is supposed to work. The people that came to do the work were really polite. They had scheduled a time to come out, and they had a cancellation that day, so they called and asked if it would be ok to come early, which I appreciated. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that they had to cut into the drywall, but they didn't tell me they wouldn't fix it when they were done. I asked them about it, and they said no they don't do drywall, and they didn't have any suggestions on who could do it.

They are a little pricey but they do excellent work. I like the crew but also the company. They take good care of their employees with good benefits. They give seniors a 10% discount.

We contacted WG to have a service call to investigate exterior lighting and an outlet that was not working. The first electrician came over and after a couple hours of testing and examining the panel, said there was a problem with the wiring though it seemed he repaired the problem. In two days, everything stopped working again. We contacted WG to reschedule and found them to be unresponsive. After several attempts, they sent another electrician out who commented that the first electrician was new and in training and that we would not be charged for the additional service call. This electrician replaced two breaker switches, but told us we needed to replace the entire electrical panel and gave me a quote. When I asked them to deduct the original $400 they offered to give me "a couple hundred off." We felt they tried to up-sell us on services we did not need. Two of our exterior up-lights were never repaired. We did not pursue any further work with them.

It didn't pass inspection. I was surprised since ad stated over 2000 panel upgrades done. I called and Mark said to leave correction notice and his guy will take a look. He said he didn't recognize the inspectors name he must be new and that he's done lots of jobs with no problems. After awhile I called and he said his guy checked it out and all was good to go as is. Feeling apprehensive I called the city inspector. They said it failed and that he'll need to correct and reschedule another inspection before the required electrical release for PGE and permit inspection card can be signed off. Mark said he'll call the city inspector after our discussion. As of today still no reschedule, no call from Mark. Job is still incomplete. I waited until now to write review hoping I could give a positive one. The job was signed off on the permit inspection September 10, 2007. The reason for the grade was because he was tardy in getting another inspector out to sign the permit.

After considerable troubleshooting they fixed the problem, however, in my opinion the work was overpriced (for electrician and apprentice) the rate ranged from $100 to $163 per hour per man (depending on who is counting the hours). For example, after 4 hours (2 men) and $740 of trouble shooting, they charged a flat rate of $490 to run a new wire (minimal materials) and it took 1.5 hours for two men ($163 per hour per man). Also, the owner did not return calls (x2) or respond to my email until I called again. He said the charges were appropriate, he counted 12 hours with 2 men. When I said he could respond to my note on Angie's list he then offered a $50 rebate, and said "You must have a lot of time on your hands. You better watch what you write." Very unsettling.

"THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND TO THIS CONCERN! OVER HALF OF OUR BUSINESS COMES FROM REPEAT CUSTOMERS AND REFERRALS. OUR GOOD REPUTATION HAS BEEN EARNED SLOWLY AND WITH CONSIDERABLE EFFORT "ONE CUSTOMER AT A TIME" SINCE 1987. IN RESPONSE TO HIS COMPLAINT, YES, IT WAS A VERY COMPLEX TROUBLESHOOTING JOB SINCE HIS HOME EVIDENCED NUMEROUS REMODELS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS, WITH MULTIPLE JUNCTION BOXES & LOOSE WIRES, PIPES & OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE CRAWL SPACE UNDER THE HOUSE, TAKING A LEGITIMATE 12 HOURS TO TROUBLESHOOT & REPAIR. THE JOB TOOK PERSEVERANCE BUT WAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED BY OUR BEST TROUBLESHOOTER & HIS PARTNER. HE WAS PROUD TO HAVE ISOLATED THE VARIOUS CAUSES FOR THE POWER PROBLEMS AND FIXED THEM AND WAS SURPRISED THAT THE CUSTOMER WAS NOT EQUALLY PLEASED WHEN THE "WORK WAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED." IN ADDITION TO OUR EXPOSURE VIA ANGIE'S LIST, WGE HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF THE BBB SINCE 1994, ALLOWING EASE OF FEEDBACK BY OUR CUSTOMERS. ALL OF OUR EMPLOYEES WORK VERY HARD TO PLEASE OUR CUSTOMERS. IN HIS CASE, WE EVEN ACCOMMODATED HIS REQUEST TO HANG AN UNDER-COUNTER LIGHT AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. IN SPITE OF OUR BEST EFFORTS, OCCASIONALLY EXPECTATIONS ARE NOT MET OR MISUNDERSTANDINGS OCCUR. HIS REFUSAL OF OUR $50 GOODWILL DISCOUNT WAS SURPRISING & UNSETTLING TO US, AS IT APPEARED THAT NO REASONABLE OFFER WOULD APPEASE HIM. WHILE UNFORTUNATE, IT MAY BE THAT USING ANOTHER CONTRACTOR IN THE FUTURE WOULD BE BEST FOR ALL CONCERNED."

Willow Glen Electric was very punctual in responding to my inquiry. Once we connected, they scheduled an appointment that was able to work around my full time job. They arrived at 7:30 am on the dot as we discussed. The service person was considerate, polite and competent. He also provided feedback and opinions on the best way to complete the work. I will update report when the work is complete.

The business was very responsive in returning my phone calls. They did an excellent job cleaning up the work site. The overall process took 2 days. I was very pleased with the business as they did a walkthrough with me upon completion. They answered all my questions along with assuring I knew how to operate the system if needed.

The electricians were on time and very efficient. They knew exactly what they were doing and did a very clean job. They'd obviously done many of these panel replacements. The entire job took about five hours. The end result made my neighbor's panel replacement look like it was done by an amateur. I do most of my own work, have very high standards, and am very hesitant to hire anyone to do work for me, but I would certainly hire Willow Glen Electric again.

Needed same day fix, as circut was same one as fridge. We called Saturday morning, and they had a guy out to us in under an hour. Easy, quick fix, and friendly service guy, but a bit expensive for the urgent rush job Totally satisifed with work, though.
