Excellent service

I get why Sandium has great reviews. Theyre install services are great and since 99% of systems probably work reliably for years thats the extet of dealing with them. But their after service support has been awful and if youre stuck with a system that fails prematurely then good luck. We paid $40k+ for a brand new Samsung heat pump system and all new ductwork last year. One of our attic air handlers died on Dec 11 taking out our bedroom zone and leaving us with nothing but space heaters for our bedrooms during our first winter with the brand new system. Took till early Jan to finally get it fixed which left us with space heaters over the holidays. Seems crazy to me when we paid a very significant premium for sandium over other competitors truly believing they were the best. Once the temporary fix was in the technician realized that the bearing failed because the cabinet was deformed. That could only have happened in original transit. They ordered a new air handler which took 3+ months to arrive. Now Im being told this cant be installed till June or July because theyre too busy. Given the system is likely to fail when under load this means theres a pretty good chance Ill lose cooling during a heat wave before they can get the new unit in. Im by no means excited to get this new unit in as itll be very disruptive and require removing our existing closet built ins but it has to be done. This whole situation is incredibly unacceptable. To take 6-7 months to fix a brand new system is crazy to me. Ive really tried to be patient on this and it pains me to leave this review but hopefully anyone who reads this can see how unacceptable this situation is. Im not even going to get into the back and forth with Samsung and the supply company since I made the check out to sandium and so they should be responsible for the system. When you hire an hvac company, turn around time for fixing things matters. I totally get that things can go wrong but the response to things going wrong matters. Sandium is too busy with new work to bother with that. Its not like fixing this is a favor to me. Its getting my system into the condition it should have been in on day 1.

End to end we got excellent service. The planning stage was very well thought out, we discussed many alternatives to the issues we had with our two story home HVAC system. Ultimately we came up with a well balanced solution keeping in mind costs. The execution was amazing, a team of six works and a manger completed the work in one very long day. I am writing this review nearly two years after the work was done, and everything still is working just like day one. So I give the Sandium team and home advisors high marks based on my experience with both of them.

He was honest, helpful and I appreciated his intregrity. I had no questions as to who he was when he came and he was pleasent and professional.

I chose Sandium to move my furnace into the attic and to replace all of my ducts and am very pleased with my choice. I had received a number of short estimates. After reading the many positive reviews on Service Magic and Yelp about Sandium, I called them. Tyler Lewis, their estimator and job manager, listened to my request and came up with an alternate idea that was more useful than those received from the other estimators. He checked out the job site by crawling into the attic to see how the work could be done, and then provided a detailed explanation and an extensive quote. This company offered everything I was looking for in a HVAC company. There was a small lapse in communication but matters were resolved and that is the reason for not offering 5 stars.

Sandium provided a detailed formal bid. They provided all aspects of the bid in a professional way. Low bid, quality installation, no hang ups.

They had to come twice because first time project didn't get approval from Sunnyvale City inspectors. but violations were small and they fixed it in the second visit.Overall we are satisfied.

Overall Sandium did a good job. They installed a higher end system for us but had to come back to redo some ducting which was not compatible with the new system and they had overlooked. They gave us a good price on the duct work but we went over budget anyway. I would recommend them strongly however, because they worked hard to make us happy.

They found out my heater was fine, but my thermostat was bad. Great, friendly service. Will use them to replace my heater when it's time.

Even though it took them 3 times to get our furnace to work and their servie was a bit pricey, they were very responsive to our calls and tried their best to ensure that we got a working furnace on a cold night. We will most likely use their serive again in the future when needed.

Michael called me within 30 minutes of my ServiceMagic post. Straight shooter - very knowledgable and professional. Not the lowest bid I received for a new furnace and duct work but definitely instilled the most confidence and his knowledge about PGE Energy Efficiency rebate program also sold us (other contractors did not know anything about this). Solid crew, showed up when they were supposed to, very polite and never left a mess. Job started and finished on time and Campbell inspector that reviewed their work was very complimentary (job done right). Sandium is a solid HVAC contractor and I would definitely recommend them

The technician was very knowledgeable and checked out our heat pump system thoroughly. His findings indicated that it was working normally and that no repairs were needed by explaining that the efficiency of the heat pump drops off significantly as the outside temperature drops below 40F.

Sandium's team did a great job. They showed up on time, provided a well detailed proposal, did a good installation of our new high efficiency furnace and made the minor correction requested by the city inspector with due diligence. I just wish they could have done minor repair to docking in the crawl space. Since they are insulated with asbestos they had to differ to an external contractor. One nice touch is they provided all the necessary paperwork for the various rebates.

We appreciated Michael Lee's knowledgeable presentation of our options, his patience in answering our questions, and the price of the furnace replcement he quoted us. Eli and his partnerwere on time for the installation and did it with a minimum of disruption, again courteously answering our questions and providing good operating instructions. They did such an excellent job that it took the city inspector only about 20 seconds to approveI the installation. It was a pleasure to talk to Andreanna (I'm not sure I spelled her name correctly) in the office. Sjhe was also very helpful in ansering our questions and has such a pleasant phone manner.

Only complaint is that I did not recieve the follow up call I requested regarding maintenance on other store locations.

Sandiium gave us outstanding customer service, workmanship and professionalism.

Very happy with the whole process. Did a great job relocating my furnace from the garage to the attic and installing central AC.
