We prefer to fix things rather than throw them out. My son's serger broke in our move, we looked up Ray's, read the reviews and took it in.  The reviews couldn't be less accurate.  At 1/3 of the cost for a new machine, now, we would have been better off just getting a new one.  
The owner was less than friendly.  In fact, if I could describe someone as aggressively disinterested, I would. I described the problem we were having to his glazed eyes. He filled out the ticket.  Called when he said it would be ready. We picked the machine up.  
We were offered a discount if we paid cash, so we did. But, I've lost the receipt for a cash transaction. I'm left wondering if this was some sort of scam to cover up not repairing the machine.
How disappointing! What a way to kill a young person's dreams.  My 11 year old son loves sewing and designing so much, he chose a Juki Serger over a Playstation to design and make all of his own clothes.   My son was so excited to get back to work!  A half yard into his project, the same issue we were having before happened again.
The machine, according to my husband, was cleaned not repaired. The problem remains unfixed. 
Lessons learned: 1. Always leave a store when the owner displays aggressive disinterest. 2. Don't pay cash. 3. Keep your receipts when you do.

We took in 3 sewing machines. 2 were fixed and once was not repairable.
Excellent Customer Service.
Excellent Repair work.
Machines were returned fully repaired, cleaned, with a fabric sample showing stitches still on the machine. Machine was wrapped in plastic for protection.
Would absolutely recommend them as the best!

THIS IS A MACHINE OWNED BY MY CHURCH THAT HAD SAT IDLE FOR A LONG TIME AND WOULDN'T RUN, PLUS THE FOOT PEDAL HAD BEEN LOST. THEY RETURNED IT TO GOOD RUNNING ORDER. THE FOOT PEDAL WAS DIFFICULT TO FIND, BECAUSE THE MODEL IS OLD AND ONLY USED ONES ARE AVAILABLE, BUT THEY PERSISTED AND DID FIND ONE. THEY CHARGED ME WHAT THEY PAID FOR IT, WHICH WAS GENEROUS OF THEM.
