Did good work, and it was worth it.

Requested a quote or response via Angie's List quote tool, but never received a response. Waited 42 days.

It went very well. They gave us a discount, showed up on time and did a great job.

All went really well. Back and forth with Henry Vargas on a few questions with all being answered. Jophnson tree service was the only one I contacted that actually mentioned the possibility of needing a tree permit from the city. Henry was also the only one who knew the names of the trees! A team of 5 showed up on time. Soon after Henry and Kevin Johnson, arborist and company owner, to confirm tree removal and trimming extent. The team worked hard and flawlessly to get the job done. All areas nicely cleaned up. Henry was a fun to deal with and professional too! Would highly recommend their service.

Henry was very professional. Easy to talk to and friendly. He arrived with a crew of 3-4 and went to work on a massive bay tree. Very impressive to see his crew work. They removed some 10 very heavy segments (easily 100 pounds each) some 10-30 feet above a creek and none of the sections every hit the creek. We have a very carefully landscaped yard and there was no damage to any of our plants. It can take a while to reach Henry by email but he will do a great job.

Kevin came out to provide us with a free estimate for some major tree trimming. The crews were delayed and he showed up in person to let me know and find a way to make sure we had our needs met. The crews were professional and Kevin and his partner were here during the trimming process. We are VERY happy with the result and the guys were really careful to move outdoor items AND replace them. Our yard looks so much better, is much safer (from limbs falling) and they did a great job clearing out all the debris. I will definitely be contacting them next time we need tree work.

It was real good. They were real friendly and personable. They spoke Spanish. He was running an Angie's List coupon.

On time,did all the worked asked for. Trimmed trees,cleared out all dead wood. Shaped trees ,removed all dangerous branches. Did all the work asked for.

Jim Brown (916-289-8818) and his excellent 3 man tree crew did a wonderful job removing our giant Deodar Cedar growing in a tight corner of our courtyard, only a few feet from the property line. It was looming over our neighbor?s house so the crew needed to carefully lower all the tree parts into a small space in our courtyard. They seemed to do this effortlessly and faster than we expected. They removed nearly the entire 60 foot x 33 inch trunk diameter tree in just one day. All that was left for the next day was the last 5 feet of the trunk and stump grinding. It was a big stump and the grinding lasted until mid-afternoon of the 2nd day. They cleaned up both properties very well at the end of each day. Jim did the estimating and kicked off the work the first day, then just showed up with the chipper when it was needed. The chipper gobbled up the tree limbs and trunk sections amazingly fast. It was obviously being shuttled around between two or more jobs. The great tree crew really knew what they were doing. The job cost was very competitive with other bids we obtained. Henry came out and gave an estimate. He spent about 15 minutes looking everything over to get a good estimate. A few days later we decided to go ahead and have it done. A couple days after that they were cutting our trees. 4 guys came out and did the work, henry co-ordinated with our neighbors in getting access to their property as needed to trim and clean up. The trees look much better and are probably happier. They cleaned up everything and hauled it away. Even cleaning up the neighbor's property more then just what they fell in some cases. We are very happy with their services.

I had an appointment for a quote, they did not show up. I called, he apologized and said someone else would stop by the next day. That did not occur and I called again. He said he would come the next day. He did and spent a good deal of time discussing the job. We never received a quote. I called three times to request and emailed. Never received a quote. We went with Aly's Tree Service, it was a $3000 project. They did a great job and their crew was very efficient.

Henry Vargas came and gave us an estimate. Actually, he indicated the approximate price, then sent an official estimate by email. Once we got the city permit, I called Henry to tell him we wanted them to do the work. I asked for them to do the job 3 days later. Henry agreed and the crew arrived on time on a Tuesday. They removed the trees and cleaned the area in 2 days. Kevin Johnson, one of the Johnson brothers, came on Saturday and ground the stumps away in 2 hours. They were good to work with, pleasant, efficient and professional. I expect we will use them again. Highly recommend.

Very positive experience from start to finish. The date for them to come out to give an estimate had to be postponed 1 day, but otherwise, their estimate, follow up, and work were done in a very timely and professional manner. Kevin Johnson was very knowledgeable, provided information about the trees we had and suggested possibilities for replacements that would meet our needs. Everything was completed in one day. Payment could be via check or online via credit card, which was convenient.

This is a busy season for Johnson Tree Service, so it took a while to schedule our work. But they arrived early on the scheduled day, a crew of 3 worked all day on the projects, cleaned up the yard when they were done, and chipped a virtual mountain of tree branches and limbs, nearly filling their truck with the chips. Henry Vargas, the Sales Project Manager for the crew, was here several times during the day to make sure that the work being done was what we had agreed on. He was a pleasure to work with. Overall I was very pleased with Johnson Tree Service, and I'd definitely use them again.

Henry was very prompt and thorough on providing a detailed quote after meeting me at the house to go over the job. After acceptance of the estimate, it took about a week to schedule. The crew came out on time and the job took about 4 hours. What I was most impressed with is that I was not present during the job and Henry, who supervised the workers for me, called me with any important questions that they had during the job. In addition, Henry said that if after I saw the job and needed additional work or fixes that they would come out for free to do it. The results were excellent and just what I expected if not more. I am particularly impressed with the job they did for the magnolia tree. It was tall and over grown and now it is nicely shaped, thinned, and at a nice height. I recommend them for anyone, but particularly for those that don't know much about tree maintenance and want a team that can provide that expertise as well as work un-supervised. I will definitely use Johnson's Tree Service again.

I called Johnson's Tree Service on 3/5/13 and Violet came to my home the very next day for estimate. She was as worried about the rotting tree as I was. She got a crew to my house the next day! They were here right on time. They were efficient and friendly. Violet was here too and kept me informed of what was going on (which I really appreciated). The smaller tree needing the lower branches removed was an "after-thought on my part because I noticed it once the Acacia tree was down. Violet said "no problem", the men could take care of it now. The crew was great, the price was very reasonably and Violet made sure everything went smooth. You want great tree service call Johnson's Tree Service and ask for VIOLET! I will definitely use them again.

I liked Kevin from the start. He was personable and he gave me a good price. I had six tress and eight rose bushes to prune back. (They were in terrible shape!) He did leave me hanging for a month from the scheduled date though, because a foreman got sick the day they were to come out, so then we rescheduled, but then he came a week earlier than the re-scheduled date.

We contacted Johnson's Tree Service for a quote. Their ratings are so high here that it seemed like an easy choice. A gentleman called back very promptly. He was professional in every way and we set an appointment. It is this call that enables me to rate anything about this experience higher than "F". We set an appointment for today (the following week). When we set it up and it was mentioned that they are based fairly far from our home, he assured me that it was no problem. He had a project not too far the morning we scheduled, so it was not an issue. Today was the day. I looked forward to getting this tree work set and arranged my schedule to accommodate. They were a no-show. After 35 minutes late, I called and left a message. They never came and chose not to call back. Missing an appointment is understandable, Not calling back reduces that to a total waste of my time.

Company took 5 days to respond to my inquiry. Person calling was nice but I had already contracted with another service.

I had had Johnson's tree service do a large job for me this last summer and they called me and reminded me that I had said I wanted to get my Deodora thinned and trimmed in the winter. I was very surprised and glad they remembered because I hadn't. They were very flexible and accommodating to my schedule being that the holidays were upon us. They did a beautiful job and everything was left very clean. They also know how to trim a tree without making it look butchered. I have seen some terrible things done to trees in the name of trimming . They will be getting more of my business.
