Jim Eastman has over 29 years experience in the construction industry. He currently holds both a B-1 General Contractor's license (which he has had since 1979) and a C-39 Roofing license. I received a call from Eastman Roofing the very next day. Dave came exactly at the appointed time. He looked at the job and even did an inspection of my roof to see if anything else needed to be done. He said that the roof was fine and the only thing which needed to be done was to repair the loose tile. An appointment was made that afternoon and the next day the crew came out to do the repairs while I was out. The work was completed when I got home. I guess a foreman came by the next week to check on the repair because a note was left on my door that and inspection was done. I have never had such excellent service.

Came out to estimate the job when scheduled. After explaining the problem he went on the roof and lifted tiles in different areas. He found potential problems in three different places and noted that the other areas he looked at seemed to be ok. When I agreed to have them do the job they called back the same day to schedule the work. The work was done the next day.

Initially, I was impressed with the tips I was given to assist me with evaluating the roofing contractors, asking the right questions, and detciding on roofing materials. Beyond that, I was completely pleased with the professionalism and thoroughness of the crew. My family home has had leaking problems for as long as I can remember, and they made sure that I would never have leaking problems again.

I was very pleased that my call was answered promptly.( I called others on your list and never heard back from them.) Eastman's rep, Federico, was very pleasant, showed me via his cell phone, what repairs I needed. He was delayed, because of the bad weather, and set a seond time for our meeting, which I appreciated. The man who came to do the minor repairs was also very pleasant and went about his work. I would most assuredly recommend Eastman Roofing, and, in fact, already have to a friend with a leaking roof.

Eastman Roofing was reasonable at the beginning, however, their surprise additional costs were outroageous and they would not budge in their position. We hired another contractor to complete the surprise costs.

"Occasionally there are unknown or unforeseen additional costs involved in buying a roof, such as dry rot. Most dry rot associated with a roof cannot be seen until the old roof has been removed, therefore there is no way of knowing what needs to be replaced at the time the bid is presented. Our contract clearly states there may be additional costs if dry rot is found."

Lots of friendliness and hard sell up front, but not too responsive after the job was done. No major complaints except clean up after tear off could have been more rigorous, tear off guys caused damage to Sun Tunnel skylight resulting in leakage and some interior water damage which contractor would not acknowledge, trim exposed by replacing gable flashings with smaller material not painted (found later in contract they don't do that) and roof over bay window not shingled (in contract). Did not get response from contractor/owner after several calls (delegated to an underling) corrective action from contractor was to only drop off some extra materials for covering bay widow roof which I had to take care of myself. The roofers were polite and competent and did a good job, finishing with no major delays.
