Naturally, i had to go visit Mike Wilson and ask a couple questions. I already knew the chances were pretty slim but I also wanted to find out if this person really exists. Note: I need to tell you that i did not try to provoke him or threaten any legal action. This is about a $500 transaction that I was expecting to eat. After i said hello and asked to discuss an invoice he jumped from his seat and started calling me stupid, ignorant and a litany of other insults. Here is a partial list: --"You're stupid" --"You're an idiot" --"Learn to read" --"I can see why your son is stupid because you're stupid" --"I want you to take me to court. Please, take me to court so I can tell you what an idiot you are" (bear in mind i never said anything related to court) --"I see you people all the time. You come in here and try to break your commitment" --"Are you really that stupid" --"I don't care what you say about me online. Go ahead" (be sure to check his reviews) --"All lies, lies, lies. You're all liars" I was completely shocked and amazed that Mike behaved this way. Rather than just say no or negotiate a store credit he proceed to be the worst example of customer service I've every seen and one of the craziest conversations I've ever had. He used yelling, insults and other derogatory remarks about my family to intimidate, anger and provoke me but I didn't go there. It's not worth it. The positive reviews about this store are in reference to an employee (Cory, i believe) and he is a shining star. But god forbid if you have any issues be prepared for the worst retail experience of your life. I highly suggest you take your business elsewhere. Dealing with Mike is just not worth the energy and anguish. There are hundreds of similar stores that would appreciate you and your business.
Description of Work: My son just graduated from college and rented an apartment. He bought a bed set without realizing it was too large for his room. He called the next day to ask about cancelling the order and was told by an employee it should be ok but he needed to contact the owner on Tuesday. My son called and spoke with Mike Wilson (the owner) was treated with such disrespect i almost didn't believe him.

I have contacted the government agency Department of Consumer Affairs and have someone investigating the situation. They have been very helpful giving me their store owners license number to issued by secretary of state to give to court. As a new widow suffering with terrible grief I don't know if taking this man to court is in my best interest. I am an honest person and just shocked at this kind of behavior of doing business. He lied to the credit card company saying he has been calling me for delivery which is not true and if it goes in his favor I hope more people read this and yelp and ripoff.com to understand who they would be dealing with.
Description of Work: I was moving back to San Jose after the death of my husband of 35 years and having to leave behind or sell my big furniture as was moving into a small apartment that would not accomadate the majority of my belongings. I was to move first weekend of May. On April 15th I went into the store and after about 45 minutes found a dining table chairs and bench I thought would do, we had to go and get a salesperson as you are pretty much ignored by any staff in sight. I was told after they "checked their warehouse" that the chairs were in stock but table and bench to dining set would not be in till third week in April. I gave both my cell number and my neighbor (who was with me) phone number so they could let them in for delivery. I was charge 60.00 for delivery and set up. After looking at apartment a second time realized that the table would not fit in my small kitchen. My friend who was with me for sale and my best friend returned the next day just 16 hours later to cancel. When I told the person behind the counter I was afraid I had to cancel order he did not ask who I was or what I ordered only became enraged and beligernet saying there was 20 percent restocking fee. I went into the show room and took the sign off wall that said you have 5 days to return and. when I returned to the counter he was swearing at my friend who is my age and I kept saying why are you screaming I don't by understand??. He only got worse and my friend wanted to call 911 at which point he screamed to get out of his store.I went immediately to a bank of the ATM card and the manager filed a fraud case after hearing what happened. The bank returned the money to the store because I signed a contract that says no cancellation or returns. They had folded the big receipt back with their no return no cancellation policy. Like I said it was different from what they had posted. I went to BBB to file and this company has 20 cases complaints against them and 25 small claims cases against them. The worst part is not just the swearing and taking advantage of customer after customer as I have since read YELP and this man is a racist in addition telling customers to go back to their own country. Because I had to short sale my house quickly and make a move quickly it never occurred to me that a business would behave this way that I needed to check yelp or BBB

IT WAS NICE TO WALK INTO THE STORE AND TELL THEM WHAT WE NEEDED, AND THEY WERE OPEN TO SPECIAL REQUESTS. WITH THEIR EXPERIENCE, THEY PROVIDED GOOD SUGGESTIONS WHICH WERE VERY HELPFUL.
Description of Work: WE ASKED FOR A CERTAIN SIZE CABINET THAT WAS NEEDED FOR DISH STORAGE. THEY ASKED WHAT SIZE AND WOOD TYPE AND COLOR.
