Shamrock Moving and Storage was founded in 1975 by Bob & Barbara Fallon in San Francisco, CA. After learning his trade at another local mover, along with his wife Barbara, Bob started Shamrock with one truck and a mission: “Take care of the customer and the customer will take care of you.” He and his family have followed this creed since the company’s inception, with great success. Boy did they! The crew arrived precisely when they were supposed to, did a fantastic job of carefully packing up all of our belongings, filled their truck to the gills, and left us feeling that our material lives (i.e. stuff) were in good hands.
I can recommend Shamrock with the highest praise and gratitude.

Pre-move: From my research, I knew I wanted in-person, not-to-exceed estimates from at least two movers. The woman I initially spoke with on the phone tried to talk me out of an in-person estimate. Despite this, she was quite personable and thorough. The owner himself did the walkthough several weeks before my move. He was professional and efficient, and he pointed out which items I could leave packed (small filing cabinets, plastic drawers, etc), and explained how they would wrap them in plastic wrap on the day of the move.
Move day: The crew showed up on time. After a brief chat with the head guy, he and his two men immediately went to work. The three of them were pack mules! They carried things on their backs and never seemed to run out of energy. They didn't drop or damage anything either, even my heavy stuff.
My total cost reflected a 5.5 hour move and included the cost of the parking permit for SF. I paid cash. They take credit cards, but with a fee.
They did underestimate the amount of time to move and worked with us to come with an appropriate price.
Overall it went smoothly, the date the shipment arrived was a few days later but they did contact me in advance and told me it would be delayed.
Nothing broke and I thought the estimate was fair.
Things ended up working well.
