The general impression of Shamrock Moving & Storage Inc. was positive. I was very satisfied with them.

The estimator should have come out to the new address because the actual work crew started adding up more charges once they saw the stairs they had to go up.  I asked him if he wanted to take a look but he said it wasn't necessary.  I was tough getting the piano and certain pcs of furniture up the stairs.  I recommend pushing for a more detailed estimate.

I called other moving companies when we very suddenly had to completely pack up our 2200 square foot house and move out of State.   Several came out and gave us estimates, but entrusting everything you own to people you don't know is a very unnerving experience.  I was still having a hard time deciding on who to hire, but then came upon Shamrock in Angie's List reviews. I called them on a Saturday morning, only 9 days before our actual move date.  Yikes!  Jose came right out the same day, gave us a very competetive bid (and a realistic one, not one full of unseen costs to be added later!), and his personable and professional demeanor won me over immediately.  I knew that he and his (family-owned) company would do a good job...
Boy did they! The crew arrived precisely when they were supposed to, did a fantastic job of carefully packing up all of our belongings, filled their truck to the gills, and left us feeling that our material lives (i.e. stuff) were in good hands.  
I can recommend Shamrock with the highest praise and gratitude.

Shamrock did a great job with our move! The team showed up on time (early, in fact!), worked quickly, and had us into our new house faster than we expected. I have several family heirlooms and some spendy furniture, and nothing was harmed. Not a scratch! Awesome job, would highly recommend them.

No glitches at all. Everything went perfectly. The movers were wonderful. I was a little disorganized so some of the things they brought I had wanted to throw out, but that wasn't their fault. Be sure to separate garbage from things you want to keep (ha, ha),

I would definitely hire Shamrock again. They were professional, friendly, responsive, and they took care to protect my things and my home.
Pre-move: From my research, I knew I wanted in-person, not-to-exceed estimates from at least two movers. The woman I initially spoke with on the phone tried to talk me out of an in-person estimate. Despite this, she was quite personable and thorough. The owner himself did the walkthough several weeks before my move. He was professional and efficient, and he pointed out which items I could leave packed (small filing cabinets, plastic drawers, etc), and explained how they would wrap them in plastic wrap on the day of the move.
Move day: The crew showed up on time. After a brief chat with the head guy, he and his two men immediately went to work. The three of them were pack mules! They carried things on their backs and never seemed to run out of energy. They didn't drop or damage anything either, even my heavy stuff.
My total cost reflected a 5.5 hour move and included the cost of the parking permit for SF. I paid cash. They take credit cards, but with a fee.

Overall, I was satisfied very satisfied. Highly recommended.

They came to pack everything the day before moving before as plan. Everything was exceptionally packed and went great. The movers were the nicest people and couldn't have asked for a better service!

They were great. They were really professional. They were on time, friendly, and helpful. When they came to unpack things, they were really careful. They put down covering on the floor so that they would not scratch anything. They wrapped everything up, too. They really did a great job. I would use them again if required. 

Shamrock movers moved me from San Francisco to Marin.  They boxed almost everything up in the time they said they would and delivered and everything unbroken, on time, and didn't charge me extra for the additional guy they had to put on the job to accomplish that.   The move cost me what they said it would.  I didn't feel nickle and dimed.   While I hope not to move again, I would certainly use them if I had too.  I wouldn't bother quoting out out to compare prices because I trust them with my stuff and they were very professional.

We have used them before - they take good care, work really hard and deliver on their commitments. Honest. We would definitely use them again.
They did underestimate the amount of time to move and worked with us to come with an appropriate price.

Everything went fine with the packing and all. There was some confusion with the numbering of the boxes. I originally thought some boxes were missing, but turns out they were just double numbered on the boxes.
Overall it went smoothly, the date the shipment arrived was a few days later but they did contact me in advance and told me it would be delayed.
Nothing broke and I thought the estimate was fair.
Things ended up working well.

We had no dislikes.  I thought they were terrific.  We got multiple bids from different providers.  They were prompt.  The owner himself came in.  They packed up all of our stuff, moved us, and unpacked.  I changed my mind about where I wanted the sofa, and they had no problem with correcting it.  The receptionist was prompt and courteous.  I recommended them to my in-laws, and they had a fantastic experience, as well.

I will use them again in the future.

They are a great family run business.  The owner personally came out to give me the estimate.  He also came back out in the packing process to give suggestions and check in.

They were not able to get the truck to the door so they carried everything on their back. They were very gracious to do it and they did not . They are very efficient and very cautious moving our stuff. They were willing to work with me on price and they made the day really easy. I had a four month old at the time and I was thinking the day was going to be a challenge.

Shamrock did a very good job. They were professional and in and out quickly because they knew what they were doing. It was expensive but I feel like it was expensive because it had to reach a minimum.

The experience was very smooth.  I highly recommend them.  They came in and stuck to the estimate.  I think they could improve in unpacking.  They just took things out of the box and put in on the floor or counter.  They do not put things away for you.  They did not explain that to us initially.

Shamrock arrived at 9:30 am about half hour late due to an accident on the highway which did not bother me one bit as I needed that time to do more packing. The move was about 7 hours of  solid work and 2 hours of travel. It was the best value for my money ever. These guys really worked up a sweat. They packed loose items too. I was amazed at how orderly the moving process was in terms of deciding what to move first, second, etc and how to pack the truck.  They reviewed with me what needed to be moved in every room and the back yard and also reviewed with me the number of extra stops to make (storage unit and workplace). Very thorough. They were very careful with all the furniture, wrapping every item with blankets and plastic, resulting in nothing broken or nicked except for a leg that came off my cheaply built desk, which I don't fault them for at all. All my expensive crystal and china came through the move unscathed. They worked so hard that I wish I could have given them an even larger tip.

They got a big desk down a narrow stairs (move out) that my move-in movers had to hoist up over a balcony.  I have lots of fragile, old or fine finish furniture.  Everything was carefully wrapped and carried.  They were very careful and efficient.

The people were nice.  They worked hard and delivered on time.  There were no problems.  They didn’t break anything during the move.

They are a really great moving company.

These guys where absolutely amazing -- extremely quick, very professional, and not a single broken or damaged item from a 3b/2bath move -- never had that happen before.  Highly recommended -- just a great experience all the way around.
