I contacted SF Iron Works, for an estimate. The estimator and installer, Noel Ponce, came out and measured everything. We discussed the style and how fancy or plain did I want the railing to be, and we agreed on a style. Noel is very pleasant, professional, and very knowledgeable, and was very helpful in deciding on a style of railing, whether to screw it into place and/or cement it, whether one railing on one side or two on both sides was better or not - the pros and cons. He was not rushy. and he gave us an estimate of $375.00, which was fine with me. He took a deposit of $125.00, and put in the order for the fabrication of it and about a week later, he came out to install it, which took less than an hour and asked me if I was pleased with everything and I was, and paid him the balance of $250.00. I subsequently discovered that a neighbor at the other end of the street had lots of railings installed and had used SF Iron Works, and had they known I was looking to have a railing installed at my place, they would have gladly recommended this company.
