I had five movers including the team lead. These guys were fantastic. Literally running up the stairs as they came back and forth to get our furniture and boxes. One guy stayed in the truck to play "truck tetris" as I call it, and managed to cram our crazy amount of belongings into the truck. Every one of them was very personable, professional, and worked their socks off. Excellent crew.
I highly recommend their services and would definitely hire Delancey Street again!
We had a lot of stuff to move and they handled it all with speed and care. The team worked really well together and worked well with us to get it all done with no damage and no losses. In the end they finished in less time than was estimated and we're very happy with their work.
Super job guys and thanks a bunch!
They showed up, looked around, decided what needed to be done and proceeded to knock it out. When they had finally gotten all three pieces up, they took the time to make some recommendations for our new appliances and pointed out some aspects we were unaware of.
Love these guys and will use them in a month or two when we're finally able to move into that same SF Victorian.
We where highly disappointed with the moving part of the Delancey Organization.
them across the city of San Francisco about 10 to 15 minute drive. They
were overall terrific, however they completely under estimated the
amount of time it would take to pack and to lose everything. They
initially thought they could do all the packing and moving in one day,
but I assure them that it would take much longer than Ness. In the end
it took them one full day to pack, 10 to 12 hours, the second full day
more than 12 hours to move all of my belongings. So their estimate of the time that it would take was WAY OFF.
They were very careful
about packaging and moving items. All of the workers were very polite.
One negative was that they cannot have any cell phones on them so they
had to Use my phone to contact their supervisors for any issues. I
believe they have this policy where they do not have their own cell
phones so they can focus on their work. This is only a minor
inconvenience however. On the day of the estimate, they came an hour
early but we're not able to call me as they did not have a cell phone,
so they have to sit and wait an hour until I arrive. This was more of a
problem for them than for me.
In addition they left some charges out from their estimate by mistake,
undercharging me by several hundred dollars. When the move was
finished they realized their error and they asked if I would pay the
difference, but I informed them that I had chosen them in part because
they were several hundred dollars less expensive than other movers. They
agreed that it was their fault not mine and I did not have to pay the
difference. Some other moving companies might have bickered about this
but as they realized it was there error. they were very good about
honoring their estimate.
Regarding the quality of their move they were
very careful about moving items, so there was only minimal damage to My
new home which has very delicate floors. The damage was very minor with
some Mexican scratches, and less than I would've expected probably
would've gotten for most other moving companies. I've had other movers
for riding furniture and they did much more damage just an hour or 2
than delancey St. did in two days of moving. I would definitely use them again.
again.
And... they know how to move things. They built their own piano moving cradle that made for a far better mover than the supposedly-professional piano movers we had before.
A++
They want the chance to work for you.
They have earned the chance to work for you.
Partly my impression of Delancy overall is in comparison with our original move to San Jose which had had no proper evaluation, took six days, added at least 2 men every day, went over the projected cost astronomically, packed items carelessly and without regard to other items in the same box, damaged furniture and floors, lost casters, screws and other vital furniture "bits", AND cost twice the Delancy won't-go-over price. That first group went under 3 different names so I can't even produce an evaluation for them... but the memory of all that had me approaching any move with trepidation.
Even without such a negative experience for comparison, the Delancy guys were courteous, efficient, professional, completely on-schedule and value-added, and went above-and-beyond in proving their integrity and dependability. Anything that they thought might be their fault or was pre-damaged, they brought to our attention immediately. These are guys determined to do their job right!
Nearing the end of the move, I managed to fall and badly sprain my ankle. When I asked, they knew right where they'd packed my crutches and so I was up and about on crutches in a matter of minutes.
I can't imagine any group I could recommend more highly for anything than the Delancy Street Movers.
You will not go wrong using these guys.
