I hired A1 recently after getting spooked by black stuff on wall. They scheduled right away and showed up per appointment on time - no issues. They never followed up after though so I had to call few times but they seemed helpful. The person I talked to (possibly owner) said they needed payment before sending to lab - said they have had no pay before so had to be careful. I wish they had told me that upfront as I had no issues paying and assumed I'll get back results soon. They also quoted $125-425 but when I called they wanted to charge full $425 price without explanation why it was full price for swab of wall.

The man talked way to much and did not focus on conducting a proper test

He spent considerable time with us explaining the process, answering our questions, involving us in the process and explaining the limits of the service. The report is detailed and easy to understand. Just what we needed for our 110 year old home.

Carl responded on Memorial Day to my online inquiry. We spoke that evening. He explained his services, detailed charges and availability the following day [our tenants were insistent on an immediate test]. Carl provided heads ups regarding his ETA. Upon arrival he surveyed the entire house; made his recommendation how to proceed. We agreed. He completed his tasks promptly and informed me to expect the lab results within two days, which happened. We passed. Mission accomplished.

Inspector was very knowledgable, friendly and he didn't try to sell us on extras that were not needed as I found with other companies.

A very minor criticism is that he sometimes has a tendency to speak in highly technical terms. I would urge him to keep his explanations in simple common every day language. All in all it was a very pleasant and helpful experience.
