Mr. Poolman has been in business since 1979. Our company has grown tremendously and has become quite popular during this time, and this is because of our basic business model: We provide the highest quality service while maintaining extremely affordable and competitive rates. Here are some things that set us apart from the rest: We have dedicated office staff that is able to expedite service calls quickly and efficiently. These employees work full-time managing and scheduling the service and repair technicians. This results in the highest possible efficiency and service. We have backup technicians. These employees are called "Route Managers" and spend most of their time ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This includes filter cleaning, random quality checks, and new service bids. They coordinate and manage field service quality. However, in the event that a regular technician is ill or otherwise unable to clean your pool, we can send a Route Manager to your pool. This can usually be done within one business day. All of our service technicians are fully trained and licensed. We don't just send our guys out in the field untested. Our technicians are put through a rigorous training regimen which includes cleaning techniques and pool chemistry. They are fully ready to care for your pool when they arrive. We have 2 full-time dedicated repair technicians who will get your pool up & running in the unfortunate event that there are any problems. Since these technicians repair pools full-time, they are able to diagnose pool problems quickly and effectively. If you have a problem with your pool or pool equipment, chances are the repair techs have seen it at least 100 times before! We are fully equipped to meet your pool & spa needs! There are so many different employees, route managers, supervisors, etc. It wasn't hard for my mother to get the run around. People did not show up when they were supposed to. She gave out several keys to the side gate and then got calls because the gate was locked. I think someone jumped the fence by using one of the trashcans because one had a huge dent after she got a call about a locked gate. The "full service" was basically some guy showing up, dumping in chemicals, doing a quick sweep and leaving (She happened to be home when they showed up). Anything else needed to balance the pool chemistry besides a splash of chlorine or acid isn't included in the full service so they try to nickle and dime you immediately. The workmanship on the pool motor replacement seemed decent, but a little sloppy because extra pipe and trash was left near the pool equipment. Mr. Poolman claimed they cleaned our filter several times (cartridge type), but I think it was only cleaned once at the most. I pulled the fitlers after we fired them and they were really nasty - no way they were just cleaned.
Overall just a bad experience. full service is not full. empty promises. I gave a "C" for the repair of the pool motor - otherwise an "F" for everything else. Some employees were hard workers, others were lazy. Pool was green the entire time from March until June. It finally cleared up when I spent my entire weekend cleaning it, shocking, using algaecide, phosphate remover, and clarifier. They also suggested draining the pool for a $1000 or something ridiculous. Recently I ended up doing this myself by renting a pump from Home Depot. That fixed a problem with the excessive calcium in the water. This company was very disappointing because I expected more from such the good reviews. I suggest learning how to take care of your pool yourself or at least look for different pool service company.
