UNION BANK OF CALIFORNIA

After a 5-month application process, our final documents at closing reflected a higher rate than we had locked in. The mortgage team was inexperienced and lacked communication between each other. 3 people were processing our loan. The customer service was non-existent. The management was disappointing and did nothing to remedy the situation. They also ran our credit 8 times! Not only did we pay a $550 application fee, but we also missed out on great rates with other lenders. I do not recommend Union Bank.

Union Bank turned me down for a car loan after I got a new job with a 20% raise in pay. If you deposit a check from your HELOC, they make you wait 3 weeks before you can access the funds. They and quot;gameand quot; debit card withdrawals to maximize overdraft fees if you are running low on funds (they were successfully sued in a class action lawsuit.) Much happier now that I am banking with LOGIX (Lockheed Federal Credit Union). I am amused by their TV commercials on ethics and honesty.

This lending group/bank is a complete joke!! I have been working for several months to re-fi my house and it has been a TOTAL NIGHTMARE!! For the first few months everything was going smoothly and because of my large amount of equity I have in my house, I was going to pull some out in the re-fi. I was told no problem. I went through the timely process of getting them all my current tax returns, pay stubs and all the additional stuff they needed... Anyone who has applied for a mortgage since the housing bust knows that want to see EVERYTHING! Every week or two I would call to check on the status and she would want SOMETHING ELSE... The appraiser came out (cost me $400) and my house appraised just fine. A few more weeks went by then they wanted even more paperwork... The entire time I was led to believe everything was going just fine, and I'd get to take cash out too. Everything was just 'in the works'..
I have a small cause based company I run from home on the side where I give back 50% of the proceeds to spay and neuter programs for dogs. (It's my way of giving back to dogs which I love!) They wanted to see the tax return for this hobby company too... Because the company is charity based and I give back to the animal programs it showed a small loss for the year. (Less than $3,000.) Within a few days of giving them that tax return, I get an e-mail (Not even a call after speaking to the same person for months) saying and quot;Good afternoon. I am sorry to say that I received the answer back from the underwriter. The denial letter is attached. The file has been declined. I apologize for any inconvenience and hope you have a wonderful afternoonand quot;. ARE YOU KIDDING!... I then called her supervisor and told her my story. She said she's look into it and get back to me. Well it's been almost 3 weeks and still no word....
Don't waste your time like I did trying to use Union Bank!! I will have no problem refinancing my home at another bank. I will also continue letting friends and clients (I'm in the real estate business) know of my nightmare dealings with Union Bank...

I like the locations and the service.

I have one person who I go to there. Her name is Elizabeth Nicassio. I have been using them for about 30 years.

THEY HAD THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REALLY TRIED TO FIND OUT MY OVERALL NEEDS.
