TRAN

I found Tran in the SD Union service section. He gave me an estimate of $400 to remove large bushes and roots from a raised planting bed. He said it would take two men a full day to do the work. He showed up at the agreed time with one worker who worked very slowly. When I questioned the time to complete the job at that rate, Tran left and reappeared with another worker, probably picked up at Home Depot or some other transient labor location. They proceeded to cut down the bushes and remove them, but did not attempt to remove the roots. This of course, was the main purpose of the job. My wife pointed out where each of the roots were, and the workers gave a half hearted effort to remove them with a pick. They had no initiative to locate and remove them without being specifically directed. When my wife asked Tran why he was not directing the workers and getting the job done, he became argumentative. He threatened to walk off the job and dump the bushes into our driveway.
