Description of Work: Roy Schwartz's son, Brian Schwartz, did an absolutely terrific job of reshaping several large trees that had been nearly ruined by previous unskilled and careless pruning. These trees are now on their way back to their true artistic shapes, and I am a very happy client. |Over two days, in addition to the big trees, Brian, with the clean-up help of his assistant, Myron, trimmed and reshaped a large number of smaller trees and shrubs, all expertly improved. |I plan to make Roy and Brian Schwarz my permanent tree service, and I am pleased to highly recommend their professional and artistic service to other Angie members.

Description of Work: I live on the edge of a canyon, and have a huge Eucalyptus tree next to my house on the canyon side, i.e., a ways down the canyon. Trimming it involves getting down a steep slope to it and hauling the trimmings back up to street level. I have had it done before, but this was the best price I have been offered by anyone. The tree looks great aesthetically, they were prompt, and did an excellent cleanup job.

Description of Work: It was a pleasure doing business with them! We used them twice and would used them again in a heartbeat. They responded to emails and came out to do quotes in a timely manner. We felt like we were doing business with a friend. The first time we had them come out and remove the roots of a giant bush we had recently cut down. I asked them if they could tack on a few more bucks to haul away my many bags of yard trash and they did for a very reasonable price. The second time we called them out to do similar work, but for three bushes this time. They were really good with letting me do as much work as possible before they came (trimming the bush myself, ect) so I could reduce the price of the job. They gave fair prices, did a great job and even cleaned up after themselves! Highly recommended!

Description of Work: Roy appeared right on time to make an estimate on a complicated job that involved removing a large tree root, installing a bio-barrier to prevent any further encroachment by roots, and righting a brick wall. (A large root from a Torrey Pine tree was pushing on the end of a cinder block wall, which had cracked and was starting to fall over.) After Roy gave me his estimate, he suddenly realized that there was a much easier way to solve our problem. Although this approach would not make Roy any money, he described how we could hire a mason to simply make a hole for the root in an invisible part of the cinder block wall, and then cement the wall upright. He left also left me the name and phone number of a good mason. This approach will save us a lot of money! Most people might have kept this idea to themselves, so that they could make a profit. Roy thoughtfully gave the idea to me, instead, even though he made no money on his "free estimate" at all!

Description of Work: When I placed my phone call about trimming my trees, Mr. Schwartz's response was quick (same day). The following morning, he came and gave me a concise estimate on trimming my trees. He was clearly spoken, easy to converse with. The following day, work started on trimming my 3 large eucalyptus trees. His workers were clean and courteous. For 2 days, he and his crew worked diligently to trim my trees and improve my backyard. After he was finished, I was thoroughly happy with the job, the trees looked great! Nowadays, it is not everyday to get a service worker who is ethical and it is refreshing to come across someone who is prideful of his trade and respectful of his customer. I would recommend Mr. Schwartz to anyone who needs tree services, and my experience with Angie's List has been very satisfying.

Description of Work: Removed and ground a stump of a dead plum tree and removed a small stand of bananas (about 15) and ground the stumps up.

Description of Work: Roy & his helper showed up on time, did the work, cleaned up after themselves and were gone in about 2 1/2 hours. I was exceptionally pleased with their work and the way they cleaned up. They had to haul all the trimmings up a steep staircase and didn't damage anything. And Roy assured me that the main tree had a good many years of life in it.
