Furniture - Sales
I am very disappointed with Macy's delivery system. I purchased over
$2,000 worth of furniture online. I talked to TeeMarie at customer
service at x47345 and she told me I had two options for delivery. First
was 1/24/13 with no delivery window or 1/29/13 with a three-hour
window. I opted for 1/24/13 with no delivery window. I took the day
off without pay so I could get the furniture before guests were coming
to stay that weekend. I waited and waited. I called around 4pm just to
confirm that they would be arriving and the customer service rep Angel
told me that the delivery wasn't scheduled till 1/29/13. I asked to
speak to a lead and was on hold for 30 minutes. I had a work call come
in so I hung up. I called back right after the call and Ricardo said
the lead was very busy and I could either hold or have a call back. I
figured I'd save Ricardo the time of having me on hold so I asked for a
call back. He said it would be by the end of the day on Thursday
1/24/13. Today is Monday 1/28/13 and no call back. Today I called to
speak to a manager and was told that the manager was out, but I could
request a call back and the manager would get back to me within 24-48
hours. I gave up and will never buy anything from Macy's in the
future. I've been a loyal customer since I was a Bullock's customer and
Macy's bought them out way back when. How can they have fallen so
far? They used to have awesome customer service. I like their
selection a lot, but without the service, I could buy the same stuff on
amazon.com or someplace else -- which I will do from now on.

Furniture - Sales
This has been a fiasco. Delivery was prompt, but there were problems with the finish of the sofa, and once you get into Macy's customer-care system, you're lost. They have delivered defective, or incorrect replacement pieces or parts at least seven times, the service tech has been here three times. Each time, you have to talk to a phone person who is under-educated and has no idea what's going on. Then you have to be available all day for the delivery person/tech to show up. They don't tell you until the night before the 4 hour window that the person will be there; several times they were late and called to reschedule. This has been dragging on from January through September, 2007, and has barely now been resolved, with a huge investment of time (on the phone and waiting for deliveries). A never-again kind of experience.
