I love, love this place! I have been going here with all 4 of our vehicles for the past 10 years. I love Quan, love her professionalism, love Henry and all the mechanics, and particularly love the fact that this mechanic shop is committed to detail and budget friendliness. No hype, no upcharging, no bait and switch, no trying to sell services that are not needed, no scare tactics......just the facts on the maintenance needs, the breakdown of cost involved in each issue addressed, the options for each item....pure, simple, clean communication and exceptional work.
I can't recommend them highly enough!

The folks here are great. I called and she said to come in right away even though I didn't have an appointment. Super fast and friendly. Highly recommended.

Kwan, the lady at the front desk, is so sweet and helpful. She knows a LOT about cars!! Don't let her cute looks fool you!!
I've always been treated very well there and would definitely recommend using them for routine maintenance: Oil changes, Smog, brakes, etc. If your car is very high-tech, you may want to have it serviced at the dealer. But otherwise, these guys are great. I will continue to have my cars serviced there.

Quick and easy smog inspection for $40. DMV was notified of the successful inspection within hours of my visit and I finished my registration renewal online. The location doesn't look very inviting and there is no waiting area but the service is great and very reasonable pricing for smog inspection and repairs. Can walk to restaurants or shops in Hillcrest while you wait.

All repairs were done with good results.

They were very friendly and the price was good compared to the dealer.

The receptionist communicates very clearly. She sets expectations well; gave good tips on where to go while waiting. I was doing a Smog test and was in and out in 35 minutes or so. It's just an excellent experience!!

Let's see, I went in b/c I couldn't charge phones in my car anymore and my breaks felt weird. I couldn't figure out what the problem was with the chargers. I had heard from my partner how great this company was, but I had always gone to dealerships to deal with my lovely Honda Accord 2003 so I was skeptical. I decided to give them a chance though as they are neighbors and I do like to support small businesses in general. I called and was given an appointment time which I slept through. I called back and they suggested another time because they did not want to inconvenience their other customers. This was perfectly reasonable to me. I got a new appt time and went in. They thought it was just a fuse problem and was able to have it fixed speedily for about 20 dollars! Yay!! They had told me before that they wouldn't have time to fix the breaks but they could look at them for me. They followed through with this and found the problem with the breaks. The pads were low. We reviewed the problem in detail and set up a time for me to come back (the next day, after my first overnight shift at my new job). I got there the next day, a bit sleepy and groggy, and she was so sweet, even asking how my shift went! She thoroughly explained what was going on and how much each of the possible fixes would be. I decided to do the whole thing, resurface the rotors (or something like that) and fix both the front and the back breaks. THe full cost was about 350 right on the budget she said it would be. She told me to get some sleep (due to my shift) and that I could pick it up anytime after 1pm to when the place closed, at 4pm. She said she wouldn't call me so I could sleep. I very much appreciated this! When I came at 4pm, the car was ready and felt great! I've recommended them to everyone!

They are an excellent service provider. They're really precise, and they're really great. I've been using them for about 8 years. I've had a fuse repaired there for free as well. They've also replaced some belts, and they've serviced my personal vehicles as well as my business vehicles. They are very precise with their diagnostic work and their time lines.

They were unable to loosen the nuts due to rust. Called me and explained situation including possibly breaking nut and having to drill out broken parts. This would cause them to go over the estimate considerably. They liberally applied penetrating oil and suggested I drive it around for awhile. They were willing to continue as long as I agreed. I elected to go to VW dealer at this point because they might have special equipment for these situations. Dealer cost was about $100 more than the Hillcrest original estimate. Hillcrest did not charge me for any of their time invested in this aborted service. Nice honest, professional people to deal with.

I keep the car well maintained so it doesn't cost very much. I find that most of the local people are real nice and offer good service because they think they might see me again. They are convenient to me. The service was good and convenient. I took my car at the designated time and they were ready to work on it.

They are so great, so honest and helpful. I told them I had a limited amount of money to spend and they were able to prioritize what needed to be done right now and what could wait awhile.

Prompt, courteous, good pricing. I would recommend them.

I think they are excellent. They are very honest and really reliable. They tell me very quickly what is wrong with the car and if it is worth fixing or not. Their price is good. When my daughter went in there the work cost her about $200, while the dealer had quoted $800 for the same thing. She was really impressed by them. They took care of the problem. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I called to find out location, price, and to get an appointment. The very capable and friendly lady on the phone told me exactly where they were (with landmarks), exactly what it would cost ( what it in fact did cost), and that they operated on a first come first serve basis. We arrived a few minutes later, talked to the same lady who directed us into the lot immediately and told us there was one car ahead of us. We hardly had time to do anything else in the neighborhood because they were finished with the smog inspection in less time than they estimated. What a pleasure! Our best smog check experience ever.

I needed a smog certificate for the DMV. The service was done in a timely manner for a fair price. I have a large truck and they did not charge more for a large vehicle as some other places do.

I thought I needed a tune up, and they told me I did not need it just yet and I should wait. I though that was very honest of them.

They were good but I would rate them a B because the price was a little high. I was pleased with the work they did for me and they were professional. I would recommend them.
