"In response to the review, we first want to apologize for any and all inconveniences to [member name removed] and family. Dewey Pest Control is a company that aims high to please our customer and has done it for more than 80 years. We proudly say that we have grown to be the largest family own business based on our clients “word of mouth”. It is with sincere regret that their dealing with our company was less than satisfactory. In our defense, at the time of the termite inspection our inspector asked the wife if he should include the balcony to which she replied that, this was the responsibility of the H.O.A. When asked about the attic, she texted the party responsible for giving the answer and instructed our inspector to only inspect the interior and garage per the representative’s/agent’s response. On 9/10/14, the inspection report was sent to the owner via email. On 9/11/14 the wife called our office and apologized for their mistake and requested for the inspector to come back and inspect the attic. Our office professional stated the inspector was fully booked, but will try to fit your property in his tight schedule. The inspector knowing the time sensitivity of the close of escrow moved his schedule around to accommodate their needs and to not delay their transaction. Before the end of business day we phoned the wife numerous times to explain that the inspector will “squeeze their property” in his schedule and that he will be there on 9/12/14. On 9/12/14 despite a confirmation from either wife/husband the inspector went out to their property. After, ringing the doorbell and waiting for 10 minutes to no answer, he left his business card on the door to notify that he had been there. Later that day, husband phoned our office and stated that due to the lack of communication, they’ve hired another company to perform the inspection. At that point the owner requested a refund to which management declined. Our inspector was hired to do a job and was given specific instructions not to include the attic and we never declined to re-inspect and to meet their deadline. As he promised if their money is not refunded, he will write this negative review. Again, we regret that our transaction was not a successful one, however, we pride ourselves in the way that we listen to our clients and address their concerns. We feel whole-heartedly that we have not committed any wrong doing and it was explained that it was premature to have called another company while at the same time phoning our office to get the inspector to come back out. For these reasons we did not grant the refund. Service was performed per the wife’s directions/instructions."
