"The Member Called me on a very cold day at 9am. As busy as we were I scheduled him for 12pm to check out his heater. Came out and found the heater doing its initial cycle but igniter was not coming on. I checked the igniter and found it to be cracked and showed it to the Member and gave him a price to replace it. He visually checked the igniter and confirmed that it was cracked. I replaced it and heater started working, I waited and checked to make sure the heater did its full cycle 3 times, All was OK. That same evening His wife called about 10pm and said the heater not working again. I came out the next day at 7am, This time I found that the igniter is doing its job but going off on the pressure switch, One possibility would be the vent is to long and possibly clogged with dirt and/or collapsed vent cap, We needed to go on the 2nd story Roof to check the vent cap make sure its not collapsed and inspect the vent. His wife had to go to work, so i made schedule for one of our technician to come out and check to vent cap and the vent. Around 1pm I sent one of my technicians to go on the roof and visually check the cap and vent. He said its not collapsed and the vent is clean, but I still informed him to replace the cap anyways. All this No Charge to customer. The pressure switch was still shutting the furnace down after all that. That pressure switch was replaced 1 year prior by another company. So I called Andrew and told him to CALL another company and get 2nd opinion, to see if they can find the problem and mentioned to him that i will fully refund the cost of the igniter during the conversation, because I don't feel right charging for something that does not fix the problem even though the initial problem was solved, the igniter was cracked. That's when he asked "since this heater is old how much will it cost to replace it" thats when i gave him a price for a new heater. I never said he needed a new heater. The furnace had multiply problems and was not used for a long time. Yes initial problem was the igniter, i would suggest for him to call 5 companies and he will see that they charge anywhere from $150-$300 for that igniter and installation. We made 3 trips, A refund was offered and 2nd opinion was mentioned. We went out of our way to get it right for this customer. Thank you Andrew for this wonderful report!"
"HERE IS THE TRUTH TO WHAT HAPPENED (THE NONE EXAGGERATED VERSION). 1. I'M NOT A SALESMAN, I'M THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY. 2. I WAS THERE WITHIN 2 HRS AND A CREW WAS WAS OUT THE NEXT MORNING AND THE CONVERSION WAS DONE THAT SAME EVE BUT SHE STILL GAVE US *C* FOR RESPONSIVENESS AND *B* FOR PUNCTUALITY. 3. YOU CAN'T GET CO POISONING, ALL NEW HEATERS ARE SEALED INTERNALLY AND THERE IS A MOTOR THAT FORCES ALL FUMES OUT THROUGH THE FLEW VENT, NO WAY FOR IT TO ENTER THE HOUSE. NOT ONCE MEMBER MENTIONED PROPANE. 4. THE TENANT CALLED US AFTER THE HEATER WAS INSTALLED AND SAID THAT A DIFFERENT SMELL WAS COMING FROM THE FLEW VENT OUTSIDE THE HOUSE AND THAT'S WHEN SHE SAID THERE IS NO NATURAL GAS IN THE HOUSE, NOT ONCE MENTIONED HEADACHES AND WAS NOT UPSET AT ALL, THE HEATER WAS ONLY IN USE FOR LESS THAN AN HOUR. 5. I SENT OUT A TECH THAT SAME EVE. TO CONVERT TO PROPANE. 6. A CONVERSION USUALLY COSTS $350, BUT NO CHARGE TO CUSTOMER. 7. A COPY OF THE INVOICE WAS LEFT WITH THIS MEMBER, AND ALL WARRANTY PAPERS WITH TENANT, BUT I DELIVERED NEW COPIES IN PERSON, NOW MEMBER SHOULD HAVE 2 SETS. 8. SHE SAYS THAT WE CHARGED HER TO MUCH, WHEN SHE HAD A QUOTE FOR $1000 MORE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY, BUT SHE STILL GAVE US *B* FOR PRICE. 9. THE TENANT WAS VERY HAPPY WITH OUR CO. AND SERVICE. 10. MEMBER AND TENANT WERE NOT IN GOOD TERMS, NO COMMUNICATION. WE GAVE THIS CUSTOMER THE BEST SERVICE POSSIBLE. OUR SERVICE AND QUALITY OF WORK HAS NOT CHANGED. THANK YOU, ALLEN (OWNER)"
