They had some weather delays and communicated well to reschedule the work. They worked through the weekend to catch up. The house looks great.

Estimators arrived on time, I was provided an estimate prior to them leaving the hsouse. They mentioned that they would beat any other competitor's price. They did not capture or even mention that I needed tempered glass due to my house being in a fire threat zone to meet code. After another estimator from a different company educated me on that. Approved Contractor should have known that. It only took a phone call to clear this up and add it to my factory order. I'm glad that it was caught prior to the order going in. Pricing was OK, they did beat the other bidders after lowering their price, all bids were in same ballpark. After signing the contract I was told that after my windows/doors get to the local shop from the factory everything would be checked to ensure it is correct and not damaged. That's where things went downhill. Installers were on time every day and polite. I did have to go out and clean up some trash they left in the street one day, this should of not happened. A total of 8 of my 12 windows were not tempered glass and an additional window was not even the right size. Of course, none of this was even noticed until all of my existing windows were removed from the house, and to make it worse I'm the one who went around checking things and found that there was an issue with some of the windows not being tempered glass. An accurate check of my material in the local shop (I was initially told that this was to take place) would have solved all of my issues. I would rather have placed the entire installation on hold and wait for all items to be correct than to proceed with the aftermath of what actually happened. After phone calls from the installers and myself to the office I was told that a new order had to be placed and I would have to wait to get the correct glass and rightly sized window. Luckily the installers were able to salvage an old window of mine that they had removed and jerry rig it into place while we waited for the new order to come in. No discount was offered (i even asked) for the extra hassle of taking off work to be home for the second go around to install the correct window/glass. Hopefully, the crew in the field having to remove all of the factory built glass and installing new tempered glass gives me the same seal, I have now way of knowing. For future work since all pricing seems to be about the same between the contractors I received bids from I think I will try another contractor based on the lack of attention to detail. In this case using Approved Contractors cost me quite a bit more due to having to take additional time off work and no offer of discount on their part.

We did not hire them to do the job. Was a total bait and switch. Paid for $1,395 deal and after the walkthrough was presented with an additional quote of $9,000. We were shocked. We understood there would be additional costs for any work over 1000 sq ft and to paint the trim but $9,000 for 315 sq ft?!?!? Needless to say we asked him to leave and requested a refund from Angie's List for the prepaid deal.

Very punctual, professional, and willing to answer questions. Acknowledged upfront that Approved Contractor pricing is higher than most, but that is because of reputation and quality of work. I had no idea the square footage of my house, which exceeded the 1500 included in the coupon by 300 sqft, but with the extras needed in my case (lots of extra stucco repair) the total bill would have been four times that much. We simply can't afford it at this time and the $2499.00 can't really be used toward it as it barely covers a quarter of the estimate. After doing other research, I can get the entire house re-stucco'ed in a new color that is pigmented (not painted) and that seems to be a better solution. I am rating the company as A's in everything, because it is not their fault that the estimate was so high, and I couldn't have predicted this when I purchased the coupon. If I had the money, I would definitely hire them.

The estimate was almost 6 times more than the deal that was purchased. Because of this I feel that this was a bait and switch.
Response from Approved Contractor, Inc.

"The Angie's List Deal was followed using appropriate pricing corresponding with accurate measurements of exterior wall space and trim square footage. Please feel free to call us if you'd like a breakdown of your measurements to verify our pricing was correct. Thank you."

There was a mix up at the beginning of the project in that they did not contact me for almost two weeks to set an appointment to review the work site, because they did not have my phone number. Once contact was established with the Regional Manager came to my house and discussed the project with me and provided a cost estimate, which I accepted. The workers who performed the work was very professional and polite throughout the project.

This whole thing was a nightmare. Representative in San Diego lied to me and Angies List. Destroyed my property and did a horrific job on my roof. Charged an additional $75.00 per sheet of plywood that I had to pay out of pocket outside of contract. I chopse beautiful Amber shingles for my home. In two days came hime to beautiful shingles with a ugly brown stripe on the top ridge of my home. My personal items the decorated my front yard destroyed. Walked to the back of the house to find ugly brown rolled roofing on the back side of my house. Approximately 3-4 feet of my harage roof had been removed (red shingles) and replaced with Amber shingles. Garage not included in contract. The ugly rolled roofing was sloppy and not in solid pieces, horrible job. I was in shock no communication whatsoever. When I asked workers at site what was happening, I eas ignorged. Foreman returned and was agressive and rude. I asked him to leave and he would not continued yelling at me about how good his job was. Due to all the errors and the deception, the horrible job cost me $11333.00. Jared Green is dishpnest and his employees are just as bad if not worse. Quality control came to my home to take pictures today and he was shocked as well. I am taking him to small claims court with the evidence aquired from Angie's List and text messages for the additional $6333.00 plus the cost of my antique stove. These guys only care about money not quality and I have pictures and verification of false information provided to myself and Angies List. Respresentative told me if I signed completion documents he wpuld tear up the $275.00 check I gave him for the 3 sheets of plywood. I paid $600.00 for my stove, perfect condition with papers confirming it's value. The are completely dishonest and unprofessional. Buyer beware. I am also filing a compliant with BBB. No mistake true story and pictures state a thousands words. In addition, they left a huge mess had to call them back on several occasions to do what should have been done by a professional the first time. Do not be fooled, appear nice and professional at first but horrible sloppy job and messy. They get your money and have no regard for honesty ir customer satisfaction.

From the initial visit and estimate to wrapping up the installation of our new windows and doors, the process was painless, and reasonably priced. We will be hiring them to replace the remaining windows and additional sliding door on our house.
Response from Approved Contractor, Inc.

Justin came to initially discuss a new roof (Angie's List coupon), and I went with the whole package: roof, stucco and windows. It was NOT a hard sell, but I needed all three done, and Justin showed me a variety of options, and a couple of days to think about it. I'm SO glad I went with Approved Contractors for the whole thing! The project started within two weeks of our initial meeting, and from start to finish the whole project was completed in only 8 days. Martin and his roofing crew worked May 23-26; John & his crew did the 5 windows in one day on May 26, and Marcos cleaned, repaired, and sealed the stucco and repainted all trim May 31. (Marcos came on Sunday(!) May 29 to demolish the termite infested patio cover; this complete rebuild was unanticipated when Justin & I signed the contract; I split that surprise cost w/Approved Contractors, which came in $2,000 less than another bid I'd received). After all projects were done, Marcos power washed around the house, leaving it cleaner than when he started. They also left me the extra paint. Some small glitches: 1) a couple of window hardware pieces came in the wrong finish; John replaced them a month later, and adjusted the patio door so it locked more smoothly. 2) When Marcos built the patio cover, I told him to leave room for the eventual gutters that would go in; unfortunately he left 4 inches and gutters are 5" so I'll need some reconstruction done on the new patio cover when I get the gutters installed. You don't know what you don't know... even if Approved Contractors doesn't sell/install gutters, they should be well-versed in them if they're going to sell roofs. This is a mistake that's going to cost me. 3) After the patio demolition, I found some rusty nails in the rock landscape; they should have gone through with a magnet to make sure they'd found them all (the roofers, in their clean-up, had made several passes prior to the patio demolition). But overall, I'm VERY VERY pleased with the quality of the work done, and the high level of professionalism shown by all three crews. Justin was always available to talk or text, and answered all my questions. His goal was to make sure I was happy with the job, and I am. Roof $10,400 Windows $6,500 Siding & paint $10,600 Patio $1,500 TOTAL: $29,000

We were so thrilled with Justin and Approved Contractors! Justin was so easy to work with, made the process as simple as possible and was always responsive. We really enjoyed working with him and the installation team who were professional and respectful of our home. Their price was great and even more importantly the shutters are the best quality and absolutely beautiful!

Response from Approved Contractor, Inc.

"This particular project required casement windows in order meet egress (fire code - per building department). Casement windows aren't included in the Big Deal and must be charged at a higher price point. It was our understanding this had been properly explained at the time of the appointment, yet we do apologize if there was a lack of clarity."
