9 1 1 Appliance Repair

Ray came once to diagnose the problem, and order the parts for the repair. He then returned a week later once the parts came in to do the repair, which involved replacing my heater element and the control panel on my dishwasher. He did a great job and the dishwasher works fine now. Ray didn't charge any additional labor, so I only paid $79 for the Big Deal, and then I paid for the parts, which is fair. Thank you, Ray and Olimpia. I will be using this company again. Thank you for the opportunity to update my review!

Overall, the service was adequate. The problem was fixed, but I would have liked some attempt at communicating with the owner of the property, the guy who ended up paying for the service.

The repair was easy and quick once the part was on hand

Efficient, friendly and knowledgable--they EXPLAINED what had caused the switch to break, so I can avoid that in the future! I appreciated being treated like I could understand what they needed to do. When I asked their advice about other ailing appliances, they gave me good information that has helped me plan further renovations.

My dryer wasn't heating up, the 2 man crew showed me the parts that were broken, gave me an estimate and upon approval completed the work in 20 minutes.

It went extremely well. This was for a rental property and very well coordinated with renters. I didn't have to be their. Ipaid by phone with a credit card. My only complaint is that I haven't been able to get a receipt from them even though I have asked twice to have one mailed, but otherwise superb service.

They were prompt and professional. Good job overall.

I initally gave them an F for not being responsive to my request for Service and slow in providing a quote (see previous review). I will now give them a pass as it did appear that they were very busy that week. They showed up right on time and replace the ice maker and cleared the drain. They did a great job and I would use them again.

I was extremely pleased with this service call.

Asked for tech to come and look at range top Whilpool Gold fan system. The person that answer phone was nice but did not know if they repaired fan systems. Tech called and said " We dont fix those" Sorry guys but I have to give poor review as I would expect a appliance repair service to repair all appliances. These countertop fan assemblies are common consumer appliances and you are either in the Biz or you are not. BTW a second company I called had a can do attitude and will be here to look at it tomorrow.

They did a great job, didn't try to "pull" anything over on us. Very straight forward, which we truly appreciated! We will definitely use them in the future for any appliance needs.

Subjectively, because Jeff jumped the gun on the diagnosis (and didn't even *check* the freon), we ended up with a bit of a mess. And it's over 2 weeks since I've had a working refrigerator. I'll say that if Jeff had gotten the diagnosis right the first time, I'm sure I would be writing a positive review. He was nice, professional, punctual etc. It just seems in hindsight that he may not have sufficient experience with this refrigerator to "get it right the first time". I'm still waiting for them to reverse the charges for the computer boards and to charge me (appropriately) for the freon recharge service call. I had to call them to *remind* them that needed to happen, but I'm hopeful that now that I've called they will handle it professionally. If they don't, I'll update this review.

The inspection was thorough and I requested they hold off until I could get an additional quote on the part needed. After research I found they were spot on about the price and had the work done soon after that. No problems then or since.

Some months ago I purchased the special for $79.00. The day of teh purchase I called the company to make an appointment - got voice mail and left a message. Never got a return call. After several more days I called again wtih the same result. I sent them am email to see if that would get their attention. I did get a call back and scheduled an appointment. However, they did not have a record of my purchase and indicated I would need to locate the receipt to present to the service man. I could not locate the receipt and cancelled the appointment. I found the receipt and again tried to schedule an appointment. I again got voice mail and left a message for them to call my daughter since she could be home to meet the serviceman. We never got a call back. I called again and again got voice mail. Finally we gave up.

Very good service, showed up when he said he would and was very professional. Diagnosed problem and more importantly explained it to me so i would feel comfortable. Had to order this particular part, but we scheduled follow up appointment and made repair on time and within the stated estimate. Extremely happy with service.

This was my first experience with Angie's List ... and I am thrilled with 9-1-1 Appliance Repair ... and having joined Angie's List! The guys came promptly as scheduled, we discussed the problem in detail, and then we scheduled a follow-up appt (within 2 days as I recall) and they returned exactly as scheduled to install the parts they had to order. Both problems totally solved and I'd recommend 9-1-1 Appliance Repair any time to anyone!!! It was an EXCELLENT experience for us ... and our problems were solved with a smile. The guys were great. And I liked that he verified who I was and that I was indeed the Angie's List customer who owned the membership. Helps protect our membership benefits from abuse.

There's no story to tell, other than that I called them, they never called back.

Needed a part that was no longer available. The workman took time to locate one for me saving me a lot of money. Very pleased with this company.

He charged me to take off my panel doors-which are easily removed. He showed up with 2 additional men, which didn't seem necessary. He charged me $255 in labor costs for 45 minutes of work. He never gave me a quote for the labor or anything beforehand. He claimed they didn't have an hourly rate. I wasn't sure if I was paying for the 2 additional men or just him. It didn't seem like a 3 man job. He acted as if I was lucky to have him working there, saying, "If my boss were to come, it would cost you more money." When he was done, he left the refrigerator unplugged. I was working out in my garden for about 5 hours, so by the time I got inside, most of my frozen food was melted!

So I had two service calls with them and had used them successfully in the past, but these service calls caused me to find another provider. Will go through each one. 1. He came out and verified that there was nothing blocking the drain and could not determine what might be causing the issue. He recommended that the Control Board be replaced and he would have to order the part. This is where the service broke down. I never received a call back indicating an estimate for the repair, or that the part had come in. So I had someone else come out and take a look. He took the time to take apart the machine and pulled out some plastic labels and seeds that had made it into the dishwasher that could have been an issue. Put it all back together. Still not completely fixed, but I appreciated that he took the time to dive deeper into the machine and also made some recommendations on better upkeep of the machine. But I feel more confident in the new guy getting it resolved. 2. Dryer not heating up. This one was actually not an issue they had the part on the truck and it was fixed in a short amount of time. 3. Dryer not starting. Heard some loud squeals after which the dryer stopped and would not start again. Had them come out and the dryer started up and was not making as much noise. So they said the issue was that the start button was just not making a good enough connection and they raised it up a little bit. That lasted all of two cycles when the problem came back again. So they came out again and said it would need a new motor. New we were talking about $350. They said they would have to order the part. Here is where the service broke down. I got a call 3 days later indicating that they could not look up the part because they did not have the model number. (Would think this is something you would write down). So I called back and gave them the model number. 3 days later I got another call indicating that it wasn't correct and could I call back again with the model number. At this point I decided with the dryer and the dishwasher that I was better off with someone else. I called another company, they came out the same day, diagnosed it again as the motor. And to my surprise and get relief they had a motor in the truck and installed it the same day. All for $240 which was at least a $100 cheaper than the original estimate. Another overall point is that the other provider sent out one guy who was able to work on both. 911 Appliance had to sent out separate guys which meant two separate windows and invoices. So needless to say I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future for appliance repair. The biggest issue that I had was the followup on parts. It just took too long to get parts and get them installed. We ended up having to go to the Laundrymat two times waiting to get phone calls about parts.

Came out with 3 people. None of them knew what they were doing because I was later informed that they "were not familiar" with that brand. They decided to take it a part to see what exactly was the issue, put it back together, which caused it to just out right not work. Wasted my time completely. They said that it just needed to be cleaned and their "cleaning" broke it even more.

I called 9-1-1 Appliance Repair (taking advantage of Angie's List Big Deal). They were able to get a service man (Jeff) out within a couple of days. The new timer ad to be ordered. And it was just about a week when Jeff called that it was in and he was in the area. He arrived in about 15 minutes and had the nw one installed in no more than 15 minutes. He was pleasant and courteous. Thecost of the two house calls was reasonable and I had been warned by another individual that the timer would be costly so was not surprised.
