Having a refrigerator/freezer go down can be very stressfull especially when you have just gone grocery shopping. I contacted 911 appliance and set up an appointment. The only time slot available was 4-6. the repairman showed up promptly at 4pm but I had not gotten home from work yet and had to give him permission to enter my house with just my son being home. He checked the refrigerator and called me back to tell me he needed to order the part. I authorized the order and was told they would call me when it came in. A week later I had not heard anything back so I called their office and was told that they would have to call me back. They didn't call me back and I had to call them. Apparently the repairman called my home number instead of my cell so I never saw the message. After finding out that the part was in, the person on the phone asked me if I wanted to schedule an install time. I of course said yes and was able to get an appointment the next day. Which was a Friday. The time window that I was given was 12:00-2:00. This meant I was going to take off work for most of the day. Around 10:00 the repairman called to tell me that he wasn't going to make the appointment. He wanted to come on Saturday but I had family plans therefore the next available appointment was on Monday. By now the noise coming from my refrigerator is so loud I can barely be in the kitchen. So I schedule the appointment on Monday which will require me to take more time from work. Fortunately I was able to have my brother be there for the repair and everything was fixed. The repair took all of about 15 mins and cost me almost $300. I am definately not happy with my experience and had it not been for my sheer desperation to get the freezer fixed I would have gone to another vendor. There seems to be some sort of disconect between the repairmen and dispatch. Dispatch doesn't know when parts are ordered and set up appointments that the repairman can't make.
Description of Work: My Frigidaire side by side refrigerator started making alot of noise off and on at first then it became a constant loud irritating noise which appeared to be from the freezer portion. At times the freezer would just stop working and start up again.

The store is a bit hard to find went by it once and it's one ways all around but once we got inside the staff was very helpful. Good items at good prices, a week to deliver was I thought excessive but once Brian showed up they quickly installed the washer and dryer and were out the door, even refusing tip because they were a bit late.

Nobody looks forward to dealing with appliance repairs, I just had my icemaker replaced by Jesse of 9-1-1 Appliance Repair. I expected I would have to replace the ice dispenser as well, but Jesse cleaned it out and showed me how to fix the problem myself, saving me additional labor expenses. I would definitely recommend this company, especially Jesse.

If you want your appliances taken care of by someone who does his work as meticulously and thoroughly as you would do yourself (if you knew how), someone who treats your home as if it were his own, someone who cares about the lasting impression he leaves with you, then go nowhere else than 9-1-1 Appliance. I cannot overstate how impressed I am with the thoughtful, honest and competent professionalism of this business. 9-1-1 will be my "go to" for appliance work from now on. Granted, we spent a considerable amount of money, but we needed considerable repair on 4 major appliances and we feel we wound up with a bargain! Not only did Abraham fix everything but he took time to explain what was wrong and where applicable, how some prior work by other services had been faulty. During discussion of our repeated disappointment with a popular ?home protection? plan (for which we were paying $660.00/year), Abraham confided that he does not participate in such programs, many of which are less than honest with customers and most of which simply subcontract out repair work to the cheapest bidder NOT the most competent. As a result of that conversation we dropped the coverage which, in itself, saved us money immediately. Specifically, we had paid to have the heat sensor on our Kenmore dryer replaced about 2 years ago. Though the machine didn?t seem to dry things well afterward, often requiring 3 and 4 cycles to thoroughly dry clothes we reasoned that was just the best it would do ? until it broke again. This time Abraham called me into the laundry room and showed me that the previous ?technician? had crossed connecting wires so the heat sensor was sending faulty readings to the control board! The sensor had "died" prematurely due to over use. Now it works like new. Despite our best efforts to keep it clean the door seal in our LG front loading washer had become fouled with mold, smelled awful and had to be replaced. Again, not only did we get a fresh component but several simple, clever tips on how to prevent the problem from ever reoccurring. I am certain we have solved the problem permanently! One evening as we sat in the family room watching TV the ice maker on our 9 year old GE Monogram refrigerator suddenly began dispensing ice all over the kitchen floor. Considering we travel frequently it was good thing we were home at the time and that it wasn?t the water dispenser. Long story short, we needed a new dispenser control board. Along with that we were advised how to safeguard against dispenser malfunction while away from home in the future. Perhaps most impressive is how 9-1-1 handled the Monogram door seal repair. Since they were already working on it we decided to replace the two door seals which had developed a tendency to harbor mold. The work was done but within a few weeks we discovered ?snow? in the freezer and dripping water in the refrigerator ? the seal had failed. 9-1-1 ordered a new seal and put it in with no questions asked. Now it works perfectly again. Did I mention our GE Profile cross top freezer refrigerator went out at the same time? They fixed that too! I hope many other Angie?s List members will call 9-1-1 Appliance to take advantage of superior service and keep them in business until the next time we need them ? a while I hope!
Description of Work: Abraham repaired a GE Monogram refrigerator freezer in the house, GE cross top refrigerator in the garage, an LG front loading clothes washer and a Kenmore dryer.

Called 9-1-1 Appliance Repair Wednesday afternoon and got a Friday morning appointment. Jesse called first and arrived during the first part of the time window. The problem was quickly and expertly diagnosed and the estimate was provided before work began. The price quoted was less than some company's trip charge, plus 9-1-1 gives a one-year warranty for parts and labor--others offered only 30 days. The work was done professionally and I was asked before any of the parts removed from the unit were placed on a counter or floor area. The tech was conscious of not only the repair work he was doing, but also the impact it had on us and the room. He protected all surfaces and left the room cleaner than when he arrived. He corrected another minor problem he noticed as he was reassembling the freezer components at no additional charge . The tech's overall knowledge of the GE Profile unit was better than the factory techs who had serviced the unit when it was under warranty. The complete experience was an excellent example of how a service call should be preformed. Jesse showed pride and ownership of his job. He handled the repair and customer serice with equal dedication and expertise. This is the level of service we all claim is lost. It is not. It is just very rare. Congrats to 9-1-1 Appliance Repair and Jesse for getting it right.

Abraham was, from beginning to end, professional, pleasant and with a good sense of humor. He identified 2 problems - the ice maker was broken and the infrared sensors didn't seem to be working. He replaced the ice maker (showing just how corroded the old one was - not a great feeling to know our ice was being made in that). He hypothesized that the sensor issue wouldn't actually prevent the ice from being produced so didn't replace the sensor for now. We agreed that I would call him on Monday if the ice wasn't being produced (but ice is already coming in). In case the follow up work is required, he also broke down how much that will cost. Abraham also noticed that the refrigerator was running hot and so, free of charge, cleaned out the vents (pet hair is not good for vents!). He told me to expect the panel between the fridge and freezer to cool in a matter of minutes and that is exactly what happened. The repairs were not exactly cheap but, when you weigh it up against the cost of a new refrigerator, eminently reasonable. In fact, I will be contacing 9-1-1 appliance again to provide a full service for the refrigerator and ensure that it continues working as long as possible. Aside from everything I've mentioned here, the most important point (in my view) is whether a service provider is trustworthy. I trust Abraham's work and judgment completely and have no problem recommending 9-1-1 Appliance to others.
Description of Work: The provider replaced the ice maker (which was not working anymore) in our refrigerator and, in addition, cleaned out the vents to increase ventilation.

Service Tech was polite. He looked at the dishwasher and could easily surmised that the problem was in the control panel. He opened the panel and checked some wires. This inspection took about 5 minutes. He was unable to check any other condition of the dishwasher because he needed the control panel to function to do a diagnostic test. He then called in to check to see what a replacement part would be. This took only a few minutes. He then wrote up an estimate of parts, labor and tax. The total estimate for the job would be $277.52 (the part was $183.70, Labor would be 95$). I was a bit surprised when they had a charge for shipping and handling of $14.95- for the part? They included a 10% discount for Angies list customers. I decided not to have the work done since the DW was already 8 years old. The biggest reason to not have the work done, was because of the price, the age of the dishwasher, and not knowing if there was anything else wrong with the appliance. The technician was helpful when I asked his opinion of how long the typical life of a dishwasher is, as well as what he thought was a good brand if I were to purchase one.
Description of Work: Service Call- checked the dishwasher electrical control panel.

Technician Jesse was very nice, and more importantly, very knowledgeable about appliance and took time to answer my questions and explain what problem might be. I have had appliance repair people who didn't have a clue! He was also very accommodating as far as my schedule was concerned. i would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them and I appreciate Angie's List as the source for finding this business.

They examined our freezer which had stopped freezing and determined that a part that was under water was leaking. They then spent about two hours taking the machine apart and replacing the part, then putting it back together. We wree told it could take 24-48 hours for it to be fully operational. It seems to be freezing/cooling well now

I was surprised at the cost. I was quoted $155 to clean the freezer defrost drain, which was clogged, causing the food in the refrigerator to freeze. Abraham then gave me a choice to 1) just clean the drain and see if that relieved the problem or 2) also replace the heater for an additional $95, if he had the part (which he did). I thought $95 was a little excessive, since the part costs less than $30. He explained that it was easier and less expensive if he took care of both issues while the refrigerator lining was opened, as opposed to coming back later, if necessary, and having to reopen the liner to replace the heater. I opted for both now. I did notice on the 9-1-1 reviews that his recent service calls all seemed to be in the $250 range. So I wondered if that was his service call goal. He was very quick and finished in less than 1/2 hour. He is professional knows his business. I would have been ok paying $200, not $250. Otherwise, I was very pleased with his knowledge and service.

Appointment was done on line. Love that feature. Jesee gave me a call when he was on his way and the approximate time he'd arrive. Right on time. Completely checked out the freezer. Also told me that if it needed servicing or repair in the near future that today's charge would be applied to that repair. Will definitely use 9-1-1 Appliance again. Very courteous and professional.
Description of Work: I thought my freezer was running all of the time and needed servicing. It wasn't. He checked the coils and they weren't dirty. He waited and the freezer went off. Then he timed it when it came back on. It was right in spec.

I discovered a leak from the copper tubing behind my refrigerator that supplied the refrigerated drinking water. I called 9-1-1 Appliance Repair and they were able to send someone early the next day. The repairman Abram replaced the copper tubing that was leaking with a new flex tub. Because of the age of my refrigerator he did not have the piece on hand to connect the tubing and had to order it. While he was there we discussed other repairs that I wanted to have done, such as my ice maker had not worked for a couple of years, the chrome pieces of the refrigerator door were coming off, the door brackets were broken and needed replacing and the frigerator had never really been serviced in the 27 years I'd owned it . Since I was on the subject of servicing I questioned Abram about the need of having servicing done on my dryer. I had heard on the news about people losing their home because a dryer had caught fire from built up lint in the vent. He advised me that considering my dryer usage I should have my dryer serviced at least once every three years. I scheduled to have all the repairs and servicing done. They were able to order the new parts and come back within a couple of days to complete the work. On the first day the refrigerator repairman Abram came to look at my refrigerator I had also scheduled someone else from their company who worked on ovens to take a look at my oven. I had been having trouble while baking in it that the food would get done on the outside edges yet the middle was not cooked through. The repairman checked the temperature and it was registering the correct heat. He really couldn't explain why I was having the problem but he upped the temperature by 10 degrees. So far so good, I think. I was very satisified with the repairs that were made and the advise that I was given. I would definitely go to this company for my large appliance repairs.

I explained to Abraham that my house was already in escrow, and that I was moving in 60 days. I had not planned on taking the washer with me anyway because of it's advanced age. However, I would certainly need to wash my clothes a few times in the next 60 days !! Would it be possible to "rent" a washer for a couple of months from someone just till I leave town ?? Although Abraham is not actually in the appliance selling business, he understood my situation. He gave it some thought, and offered to deliver a used machine he had access to and I could rent it for 2 months at a very reasonable rate. He would return in 2 months to pick it up and return my deposit. If he didn't hear from me, I could just forgo the deposit and keep the machine.! How could I lose ? So the next day he delivered a much newer, quality machine and I most certainly will take this one with me when I move. I appreciate his original thinking in working with me in this situation !
Description of Work: My washing machine stopped "agitating" and also emitted a burning rubber~electrical smell ! It was a solid, but fairly old machine. Abraham tested the machine a couple of different ways and determined the transmission was bad.

Provider repaired/ replaced the rollers on my dryer. This required removing the dryer drum and coming back a second time since the rollers had to be ordered. There were two repairmen. Both were very courteous and professional. My dryer now runs quietly with no additional problems so far. I used an Angies' List coupon which cost $89 for one large appliance repair (labor). The additional $60 charge was for the ordered parts.

The problem was diagnosed immediately and corrected within 1/2 hour. Ray was both very professional, and punctual! I was disappointed that the price quoted in Angie's List apparently didn't apply. I believe the add was for $49.00. I was required to pay the $65.00 which was explained as the minimum charge for a visit. Not quite sure why Angie's List special could not be applied. Apparently there were no repairs necessary just a simple finger in the drainage tube. Since it didn't even take 1/2 hour and required no tools I felt that the quoted special should have applied/ or it should have been made clear in the add that the minimum service charge would always be applied and the listed special applied to any service/repair over and above the minimum service call price.

About a year ago my 22 year old Sears Kenmore dryer suddenly stopped working. Being this old, the question was should I replace or repair? Initially, I contacted Sears repair department who sent out a technician to fix the problem. Two HOURS later, this technician was no closer to determining what the problem was, yet I had to leave for an appointment. Nonetheless, this technician wanted $129 for pointing out 2-3 possible causes for the dryer not operating. Consequently, the dryer remained inoperable. I priced new gas dryers, but put off doing anything. Fast forward a year. Two weeks ago, I decided I would try the repair route one last time. This time, however, I decided to use Angie's List to identify the repair company. At the top of the list was 9-1-1 Appliance Repair. So I decided to give 9-1-1 a try. Boy am I glad that I did! To my luck, Abraham was the professional technician sent to my house. I say professional because this man really knows his stuff. He arrived on time and within two minutes, NOT TWO HOURS after initially looking at my dryer, he pinpointed the source of the problem, which by the way was not any of the sources that the Sears technician had identified. Abraham was very business like, yet also very friendly. He had obviously seen this dryer problem before. Although he did not have the part on his truck, which by the way is a vehicle any technician would envy, he immediately placed the order and communicated that he would be able to install the next week. Fast forward a couple of days. I receive a call from 9-1-1 that my part had arrived and that they would like to make any appointment to install it. When Abraham returned the following Saturday, he arrived on time and immediately installed the part, plugged in the machine and pressed the button. I thought that there was a a 50-50 chance of the new part working. Abraham, on the other hand, had complete confidence in his initial assessment. HE WAS CORRECT! My dryer was working once again and he was able to fix it for a 1/3 of what I would have had to pay for a new dryer, that probably would not last as long as my dryer that has now been fixed. Great job Abraham and 9-1-1!

Provider showed up to analyze problem and returned a couple days later to fix the problem. He was on time and fixed it the 2nd time out. He cleaned up his work area and was very polite. THe only problem was that he demanded payment before he left. Due to the fact I am off site and this is a rental I offered to call the office and pay by CC. He said he would wait while I did that. Never been treated like that before.

They were pretty competent and professional. They found the problem with the cooktop. They didn't really find the problem with the Thermador oven that they could correct. The clothes dryer was making a squeaking noise. 2 repairmen came out on Monday and said it was ball bearings going bad. They didn't have a replacement part on the truck so they came back the next day and did the job. They were punctual, polite and professional both days. They were careful to protect the floor where they had to sets parts down as they were partially disassembling the dryer to get to the damaged part. They showed me the bad part they took out, explained why it wasn't working any more and gave it to me to toss in the trash. I used an $89 Angie's list coupon for free labor and paid an additional $86 for parts

Guys were super fast, found problem in minutes. Didn't have part, said they'd come back and fix it today but now they can't because no one called me back to schedule appointment yesterday.
Description of Work: They didn't do anything because they didn't have the part, said they'd come back today. Called for appointment after they left, no one called me back, then said there's nothing available today, I'll have to wait.
