UC Fence left us with a quality white vinyl fence at a fair price, nicely installed, and resolved our very few problems professionally and relatively quickly. Our job consisted of replacing 250 linear feet of falling down wood fence with 3 adjoining neighbors, a somewhat tricky hardscape issue, and the need to contain high-jumping cats. Their Sales Manager, Eric Prien, did an admirable job coordinating things with our neighbors (even one we were having trouble getting on board) including getting their payments for their share of the job, and he also took good care of us throughout the process. His estimate was fair & quickly obtained and he followed up with us a number of times as we moved closer to starting the job. The installation crew was knowledgeable, friendly, capable, on time, and clean up was pretty good. UC Fence is fully insured for liability & W/C and have all the necessary licenses and bonding. As in life, not everything is perfect – and this is especially true when hiring contractors to do a job you care about being done right. The key to considering UC Fence for your job is knowing that any issues WILL get resolved to your satisfaction, period. I couldn't recommend them more highly! Everything seemed professional ahead of installation, but unfortunately the execution during installation was poor quality. UC Fence did an onsite assessment and identified 4 ficus trees close to the fence that I would need to remove prior to installation. I ended up removing 7 ficus trees just to be safe. Unfortunately, one of the trees that they said was fine they severely damaged during installation. They made a straight cut through a major root exactly in line with a fence post, and months later during major rains, the tree fell over and nearly fell on top of my roof. Additionally, after getting a driveway gate installed, we realized how the fence was not correctly leveled. Sometimes it’s just not worth going with the cheapest bid because you get what you pay for.
Response from UC Fence

"This is unfortunate. Even though the tree was not in the way it appears that one of its roots was. We could not have predicted this outcome. Your fence post is properly set. We are glad your roof is OK."

Left several messages with the office and did receive a call back from an employee. I sent pictures of my fence, and never heard back from them. I will not attempt to contact this company in the future as it was a waste of time trying to pursue an estimate much less a completed job.

Our fence (originally installed 7 years ago by UC Fence and Jason) took wind damage on two sections and I thought I would call UC Fence for repairs. Surprise, I spoke with Jason, he gave me a quote which I accepted and within a week, and as scheduled, two workers showed up and rebuilt the fence that had been damaged from the high winds. Both times I've contacted UC Fence, they have been 100% professional, 100% on time and 100% quality workmanship. I highly recommend UC Fence for your fencing needs.

Wow. Looks fantastic. Couldn't have gone better. UC fence promised to complete the job in two days and fulfilled their promise. Their price came in just over my budget but we were able to come to a mutual arrangement on the cost. They worked with me on everything and were a pleasure to have work on my fence. I would gladly have them work on another project if I had one.

Everything went Great from start to finish! We are Very Happy with the work that was done, and Love our fence. UC Fence Co. San Bernardino, is extremely prompt and professional, and they do Really Nice work, with the best pricing of anywhere we looked. They have a great sales person, Eric, who is really knowledgeable. We had him out 3 times before we finally decided on what we wanted done. He was very patient and nice, helping us make the right choice for our needs. This fence company is the best place to get the fencing service you need done. We plan to do more fence work in the future, and are happy to have the guesswork out of the way as to who we will go with. UC Fence Co. A+ *****

We had our fence installed at the end of August 2018. We went in with a group of 6 or so immediate neighbors in our HOA, and UC Fence was chosen by the group since they had decent reviews and the lowest bid. I am writing this review because we had an overall bad experience with the company for a number of reasons, which I will list in chronological order, although #3 and #4 is what prompted me to write this review now. 1. After the fence in our yard was installed, the team left a bunch of trash in our yard (picture attached). We contacted Eric Prien and the trash was removed the following day. This was resolved satisfactorily, although it is still unprofessional to leave trash that is only removed when customers complain. 2. We examined our backyard after the fence was installed, and the workers had killed two of our fruit trees. One avocado tree was removed and completely discarded. One fig tree appeared to be pulled out of the ground along with its support post (picture attached). The fig tree was clearly marked as a fruit bearing tree, and it appeared the workers tried to hide the fact that they killed it by sticking it back into the ground although it was no longer attached to its roots. Both trees were located 1.5-2 feet away from the fence line. We believe this behavior was extremely unprofessional, as the men removed and killed our trees and even worse tried to hide it so we would did notice until it started to yellow after they were done with the job. We had extensive communication with Eric about the dead trees, and this was resolved by the company purchasing a fig and avocado tree as replacement. 3. In September/October we noticed that the end caps on the posts (not sure what they are actually called) were falling off. Four out of six posts on the right side of our backyard were found to have missing end caps. My husband says they should have been fixed to the posts with vinyl glue or some sort of adhesive. Clearly this was not done because almost all of the post end caps have fallen off on one side of the fence. My husband planned to glue them on himself, but some of the caps are lost now and may have blown into the neighbors’ yard or the street. 4. After a windy day, a large section of fence blew down (see pictures attached). The horizontal top bar was detached from the post and at least 4 panels of fence were blown over. This left a large gap between my backyard and our neighbors, and we were not able to let our dog into our backyard during this time. My husband replaced the panels himself, but thinks that the horizontal top beam was cut too short because it slips out of the post easily. This appears to be due to poor installation of the fence. No matter how windy it is, I would not expect fence panels to just fall down like that. This is completely unacceptable to me, and is what prompted me to write this review several months later. I was willing to overlook a lot of the other issues (end caps – we can glue them on ourselves; garbage – at least they took it out after we complained; dead trees – at least they accepted responsibility and gave us replacement trees…). However the last straw is that this company installed a sub-par fence that blows down in the wind. This fence does not provide me with a sense of security. Overall, this is a very unprofessional company and we have had problems with them from the beginning. They do not respect your property and leave trash in your yard after they are done. They do not care about your landscaping or your trees and plants. I talked to my next door neighbor, and he said that they sawed off several large limbs from his avocado tree without asking him about it, and another neighbor mentioned there was just general sloppiness issues in her backyard, so this appears to be a consistent pattern of behavior with this company. They did a very poor job installing my fence. The end caps were not secured, and a large section of fence blew down in the wind. I would never recommend this company because the fence does not provide any sense of security and I have no confidence in the installation.
Response from UC Fence

"We are really sorry that your experience was less than perfect but we should respond. If we had the lowest bid, why the "D" grade on price? This was a multiple day, multiple property project and some removals were left until the following day. The removals would have been hauled away whether the client called to report or not. The small fruit trees were right next to the fence line and were unfortunately damaged in either the removal or construction process. UC Fence found better replacement trees. Hopefully the client did not plant the fruit trees right next to the fence again or it will be a problem as they grow larger. UC Fence installers do not go out of their way to destroy property. This is how we earn our living. This fence is warrantied for life. If you need caps or repair from wind damage simply pick up the phone and call and UC Fence will help. Again, our number is 909-889-4800. Merry Christmas!"

We had to call them the day of the install. The quote they gave us one time and the workers were given a later time. After we called, they came out within 30 minutes. Price was slightly high for less than 90 minutes work. Workers were cordial and informative. We did make a follow up request and they scheduled to come out and do it.

Requested to be contacted for a new fence/gate or repair on October 9 on Angies List...never heard a peep!
Response from UC Fence

"Hello [Member Name Removed], This a problem that we've been having with AL. We do not service your area, sorry. We updated the cities that we service per the instructions from AL and it has not helped. We are based out of the Inland Empire and would not be able to offer you any value compare to a fence contractor near you. My advice is to find a local provider on AL who can assist you. Again, we apologize for the confusion. Best of Luck, UC Fence"

Installation fine; however, left behind messed up dg which then was completely restored two weeks later satisfactorily. Really like end result. Fencing is very expensive, unfortunately, but UC was $500 and $700 less than two other estimates I got.

I was called by a member from US fence Company. My original appt date was Fri July 20 and schedule for 9am to 10pm. They called because they were running later from another job. We agreed to a re-schedule date July 24 for the same time. Today was a no call no show from this company

"We are very sorry that you had to deal with this. There is no excuse. The person that stood you up no longer works for our company for obvious reasons. If we can ever be of assistance, feel free to contact us. Again, accept our apology for the lack professionalism."

The iron gate kick plate sheet had a welded joint. I pointed out and they replaced with a clean one. The other oversight was that they configured the right door as passive door instead of the left door which . which is not suitable instead of the right door which didn't had the rod to secure the gate. . To overcome that they added extra rod

The fence is beautiful, but the guys left concrete spilled on my driveway and running down our brick wall that won't come off. Some of the help complained the whole time about having to put up the fence on a slope and I can understand that it was a light mist the first day. My husband got them buckets to use and they kept them. The price was amazing for what we wanted and where we live.
