Description of Work: I had a plumbing emergency with the toilet not flushing and sewage backed up into the bathtub. I searched Angie’s List for the most reputable plumbing agency and found Ace. I personally rely on reviews and appreciate everyone who takes the time to share. Ace Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning was absolutely fantastic. From my initial call with a polite woman answering the phone immediately and helping me get scheduled, to the technician calling me right afterward on his way ready to get this fixed. I was late for work dealing with this situation so I very much appreciated their timeliness. Once the technician John arrived, he got right to it. I appreciate how he explained everything about his diagnosis technique to how it determined my costs. My particular situation was abnormal because I have an addition to my home and a piping system that he had to figures out. He tried a few different approaches and managed to access my pipe lines through a vent in the roof and fixed the clogged pipes. He needed to call in assistance and Jerry and Joe showed up to help him. Together they were fast and efficient at fixing the problem and gave a good price. Hope my review helps others make the right decision too. Thank you Ace!

+ -1 moreFrom the first call to departure ACE was courteous, professional, timely, and extremely efficient. They removed my toilet, repaired one of the pipes underneath the toilet, and installed a rather complicated new toilet with apparent ease. Though it took longer than anticipated due to some unexpected damage, the technician kept me well-informed and was very apologetic for the longer than expected service call. The delay had nothing to do with him, but was related to an issue with my house. It was higher than the estimate but that was because he ended up doing more work than anticipated.
Description of Work: I have a 1950's house and have had several issues with leaking and severe condensation. I purchased a higher end Kohler brand toilet from a bath supplies store and hired ACE to install it.

+ -1 moreThe first plumber came out and screwed around with a snake for 45 minutes, he was getting nowhere and did not seem to know what he was doing. I was paying by the hour so I told him to leave it. I called the company and told them they charged me $150 for a guy who did not know anything. Eventually they sent someone else out who was very professional, but still charged me more. I will never go with this company again.

The sewer pipes leading to the city main sewer in the back yard have been getting clogged with tree roots ever since I moved in 8 years ago. I needed to replace the sewer line. I had 7 bids for the job. The bids ranged from $3,500 to $8,600. The bidders also ranged in the detail they provided in the bid and their knowledge and expertise. Ryan showed a knowledge level that was equal to the most competent sounding bidder. Yet his quote came at a more reasonable level. Ryan and his partner Justin were hard working, organized, and kept me informed of each day's plans and progress. They went out of their way to be professional, courteous and friendly. Ryan kept me informed when another crew came in with the trenchless piping and let me know what to expect. I am impressed with the work ethic and quality of work of Ryan and Justin and the trenchless crew. I am hiring them for additional work on out door water pipes.
Description of Work: The company cut 4 necessary holes in concrete to put in about 20 feet of trenchless sewer pipes. They obtained the necessary city permits and clearances. They even checked with our back yard neighbors in case they would have to go under the fence. They dug huge holes and cut out thick roots. They cleaned up each day after work so there was minimal mess.

Although the price was not that expensive as a base pay, it seemed like they were coming out to do repairs way too often which started to costing me more in the long run. I really felt as though they were not trying hard enough to fix the problem I had with the toilet because it was just not getting taken care of.

+ -1 moreThe story is I called a plumber from the Yellow Pages first - bigger company, known name. The guy took a look at the bathroom sink and tried to charge me nearly three times as much as Ace. When I told him no thanks, he asked me what I thought he should charge and wasn't happy with my response so I thanked him for his estimate and showed him the door. I went online to Angie's List, found ACE plumbing, saw the ratings, called, and they made an appointment with me immediately and sent their guy out early. He did the work for a fraction of the price quoted by the other company, and was a really nice guy as well.

+ -1 moreTim arrived on time (actually early) and unclogged the kitchen sink. I had called quite a few places for quotes. They were one of the best, and had a $15 off coupon in the phone book also. Some companies wouldn't even quote a price without coming out to the house, which was not convenient since I don't live in the house.
