I called RKM heating and was told they charged $ 45 for diagnosis. That was most reasonable, considering that others on the list were charging $ 80 to $ 95 (almost double). I am giving them 5 stars for not only fixing my problem, but also for those subtle things that I expect from a professional service provider. Michael informed me that the PVC pipes in the AC water drainage were worn out which were leaking the water. Then he inspected the 2 AC units in my backyard and informed me that I might need to fill up some Freon gas, though it was not an urgently required. He gave me an estimate to fix the water leak and once I agreed, he fixed the problem. I decided not to fill the Freon gas at this time and he did not push to me (or scare me) to get it done. I like the service provider to educate me and offer options...and leave the decision to me, without pressuring me to get anything done. That's exactly what RKM did to earn my 5 stars. Some of the subtle things that I look for and found in RKM were: calling a few minutes before knocking on the door, showing up on time, wearing shoe covers before entering the house, having rubber covers on his ladder so that my wooden floor is not scratched and cleaning up pieces of the attic insulation that invariably falls whenever we open the access panel.

On Sunday (8/19/12) I discovered that one of the air conditioning ducts had become disconnected from the AC unit in the attic. On Monday I contacted RKM. The person that I spoke to was very helpful and seem to have good knowledge of the problem that I described to her. Based on our conversation I scheduled a technician to repair our AC problem for the following Wednesday. The technician was scheduled to arrive between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. David arrived promptly at 1:30 PM. I explained the work that I wanted done to David and also expressed my and my wife's concerns about having someone work in the attic. David was quick to ally any of our fears. David was very patient with us and explained how he would complete the repairs. . David was kind and courteous and very easy to work with. David's work was exceptional and RKM's price was very good and we received the senior discount as promised. All repairs were done to my complete satisfaction. Overall I am very pleased with this experience.

Robert arrived almost exactly as expected... Quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I am HIGHLY impressed with the timliness and especially the wonderful low price. I am equally pleased when I found that RKM has a yearly service policy for a very reasonable rate, which I signed up for. If you have an a/c problem, do give RKM a try. A great experience! Thanks

I would recommend this company to everyone, they came out and had very positive attitudes were on time and very professional. I had asked them not to wear shoes in the house and that i had bags to cover there feet if needed and the rep told me she would make a note of that to them. When they got here they had booties ready to go and had took what i said to heart, i was very happy about that. The repair guy had sat up here talking to me step by step about xbox, playstation, and just life in general as well as working on my furance. Day 2 when the next repair man came to install the parts he was just as friendly, and went step by step breaking down what he was doing for us, as well as doing a great job. Service like this i would pay them again to come out and work on it again and wouldnt care the cost thanks JKM.

Michael did a thorough check of the house to come up with the estimate, including checking the attic. He was very professional and able to answer all my questions. He wrote up three different estimates so that we had a few options to choose from (difference in equipment, adding zoning etc.). Although we went with another company (due to a personal referral), I would definitely recommend this company (and Michael K), to consider as an option for A/C and furnace install. They had to put a new part on my A/C unit, put in some freon and cleaned the unit. I signed a service agreement with them for 1 year so that if I ever need it serviced, they won't charge me to come out and look at it.

The guy that came for the quote was super professional. These guys really know what they are doing. They are very thorough and explain everything. They were on time. I rate them high overall.

The tech. took about an hr. explaining the problem .. I had a good understanding of the work to be performed. As always I needed a 2nd. opinion . The second opinion came in more affordable.

The job was wonderful. They were probably the most conscientious service providers I have come across. I had them do some work at my daughters house as well.

I had them come to my house to fix our AC. They were able to come the same day. I also had them go to my mother in laws to work on her AC. They were able to fix the problem for a time but said if we need to buy a new system, the money we sent on repair would go to the placement.

The whole experience went very well. They normally deal in Fujitsu, but I wanted the Mitsubishi unit and they had no problem getting a hold of it and offering a competitive price. On the install day, they were friendly and respectful and got the job done without any problem. My electrical panel gave them some trouble, but they stuck with it until everything was done. In my opinion, this is a very good company and I would use them again for installs and repair.

They were great, and I was happy with them. They were always right on time. They provided really good service, and I was very impressed with them. I am a little skeptical about the unit, but in terms of the service, it could not have been better. They were just there for me a hundred percent, and I really appreciated that. I cannot say enough good things about them. I even left my house while they were here, and I don’t do that usually. They seemed to be really sincere and honest. I don’t do business in the new world anymore, but I really trust them. If I call them and get on to their voicemail, they will call me back while I am still on the voicemail. When I was writing the last check, I had forgotten I had paid $1000 on it, and he reminded me; he could have kept quiet. Moreover, I got $500 off for being a member of Angie’s List. I don’t know how their prices would compare with others. I would rate them highly.

Decided not to use the company because we didn't like not being able to use a credit card without being charged an additional 5%. Very nice to deal with and they met the price of another company and also offered an Angie's list discount.

The service man was exceptionally nice and professional. He spent time explaining the repairs that needed to be done. Both times that he came out to the house he was actually early!! I always dislike waiting around for service calls, so this was an added plus in my opinion. I gave them a "B" on price only because I really had nothing to compare it too. I do feel like the price they charged was reasonable. The service man throughly explained the charges and did try to save us some money by attempting to change just one part. Unfortunately that didn't work, but I appreciate that he tried.
