RKM Heating & Air Conditioning

Had the same repair done a few years ago. Part is $21 retail and took him no time and charged me $210. I was told it was labor charge. So essentially $200 an hour. Total time from show up to leaving 40 minutes. Total rip off. Tried to reason with them but they essentially told me to go to somebody else and pay them their minimum and they will leave. Have used many service providers on Angie's List and this is my worst experience. I would NOT recommend them or use them again.

I called on 6/1/2014 to please call in the morning to schedule a service air conditioning I have a child with special needs and it's urgent I get our air fixed, at 9:00 am I called an left a message repeating the same. Message and to please. Call at 3:00 pm I still have not even received a return call to say they received my call not very professional or very good customer service I would say

Excellent service. Found our thermostat was off a few degrees and was able to correct this. Would recommend company to others.

I explained to the agent on the phone that I knew next to nothing about their business and that it had been several years since anyone had examined my heating or A/C units. I had a number of questions because this is an older unit and I wanted to make sure I didn't need more extensive servicing or repairs. This company took a full 10 minutes to answer all my questions fully and completely, yet not making me feel stupid for asking them. Although I eventually decided to have the service done by a competitor because I preferred a longer term service agreement, I would not hesitate to use RKM Heating and Air Conditioning, nor should you.

I am happy with the result. I have heard no complaints from the tenants. They quickly went down because I told them it was urgent, and had it done the next business day. They were responsive. they were able to do it in the time period I needed it done in.

They came on time. They were very honest and we appreciated that a lot.

They were great. We had an issue and we left a message. It took them more than 48 hours to call us back.

They were good. They were very professional, friendly, and courteous. They had to come back twice, but did not charge me any additional fees.

My experience with them was excellent. I had the person who came out for the estimate. I had estimates for heating, air conditioning, insulation and ductwork. I decided that I wasn’t going to buy a heater or air conditioner until mine broke. Then I had them out, and they did my ductwork for me.

Didn't have cool air in kitchen and livingroom. After he fixed it my home gets nice and cool.

We did use the company and I think he was him. Great!!! He was very thorough. I think he rate above and beyond. I think the service was last summer and the service cost I think was under $100.

They came and looked things, they didn’t perform any work they changed one filter when I actually needed 2 filters replaced. I expected them to have standard size filters, I felt that was the least they could do since they were coming out to perform a tune up. They gave me a quote for additional services, which I felt was expensive. In terms of a tune up they didn’t meet my expectations.

Did a great job and were priced fairly.

It went very well. They were very patient and professional. We purchased a Big Deal for an inspection.and then, of course, spent a lot more, but we expected to do so. They really worked h****** our newly purchased home's deteriorated heating ducts, balanced the entire house so all vents now have the same force, and answered all of our questions. Took their time showing us our current HVAC system and explained how to keep maintaing it - did not try to upsale us on a new system.

As far as I know, the service man did a very thorough job although all the work performed was in the attic. Unit seems to be running a little quieter. Very prompt and professional.

They were really good! I was very happy with how they made contact and were very professional. Just phenomenal! They went out of their way to complete the order that day, which I know was difficult since we had a miscommunication about the address.

RKM Heating and Air Conditioning did a fabulous job (Invoice# WEB000581)! I just purchased a house and RKM came the day after I took possession. I explained that the home inspector noted that the furnace was very dirty so I bought the Big Deal they had on Angies List. The technician, Mike, was the best. He was on-time, personable, and did a great detailed job at ensuring the furnace was cleaned and running to specifications. He cleaned up after himself and showed me pictures of how clean the furnace was. I asked him for some other estimates for air duct cleaning, whole house fan, and a central furnace filter. Their estimates seem pretty high. I highly recommend RKM for HVAC needs and will be requesting Mike on my next service call.

Michael arrived within the window prescribed, and had even been courteous enough to call and let me know when he was about 20 minutes away. He promptly set about checking my heating unit and made some adjustments, which he explained to me. After he was finished with the heater, he went outside and checked my air conditioner. I was provided with a thorough written report of the services he performed. After the very positive experience I had with Michael of RKM Heating & Air Conditioning, I will definitely utilize them the next time I have a heater or a/c problem. WEB000577

The technician recommended that before they could perform the service, the heater would need to be cleaned. He gave me and estimate to clean heater. I then asked the technician if he would recommend heater replacement. We discussed heater age. The heater is original to apartment (1960). I replaced the heater.

Michael arrived on time and was check out my system and give a quote for a replacement. Great service.

Had a recurrence of a propane leak similar to one I had 9 months before. They came out the same day and fixed it for free since it was within a year. I love these guys. They'll get all my business.

We purchased the house in August and requested the gas company to check our pilot lights, etc. Upon their visit, the gas company representative said he had concerns about our furnace since it appeared that the "firebox is rusted out" and recommended that we have a heating and cooling company check it out. We reviewed the offers on Angie's List and, based upon the glowing reviews for RKM Heating & Air Conditioning, we chose them. Their service rep, Don, came out and examined the furnace and let us know that he had to "red tag" our furnace and turn the gas off going to the furnace. We then discussed his giving us multiple configurations of furnace and, since our air conditioner was 23 years old, furnace/air conditioner replacement estimates. I let Don know that we would be getting estimates from other vendors as well. Don sent MANY configurations, and I appreciated his effort; however, weeks later when I had finally gotten down to deciding between two vendors, of which RKM was one, he failed to get back with answers to 4 questions that was to make the final decision. Ultimately, although his estimate was somewhat less in price, I was uncertain as to whether it included permits, removal, etc., so we went with Magnolia, who was excellent. Highly recommend RKM for the inspection and servicing of your furnace and, had I not purchased my furnace/air conditioner from someone else, I would have continued to use them for those purposes.

My central heater smelled like rubber burning. I made an appointment with RKM Heating & Air Conditioning to diagnose the problem. Michael was on time. He's quite professional. Unlike others, Michael explained every step along the way. He took time to inspect and maintain my furnace. Michael showed me the capacitor was mal-function. Initially, I would not believe the capacitor could have caused the rubber burning, but Michael explained malfunction capacitor caused the motor to work harder and created the smell. After he replaced the capacitor, the rubber burning has been gone. I enjoyed having Michael's service. I felt a huge difference between Michael' s service and another service I have on the same day.

Mike was very punctual and called 25 mins. Prior to arrival. On the first visit he repaired the problem and explained it thoroughly. On the second visit he was there as promised and did the repairs to bring the unit up to code. It was mounted on wood struts, unsecured and the gas routing was not to code. Mike raised the unit on metal struts including the air conditioning section and installed a flash guard under the unit. Strapped and secured the unit for earthquake safety and moved the gas line with a flex connector away from the unit inlet where a solid black pipe was installed to meet code. Wife's perspective : clean efficient workers. Mike very reassuring that the unit was running in a much safer manner. Her concern was that a fire was happening in our attic and she never really liked the idea that I moved it there. She is a bit less concerned now! Overall comments: very satisfied with the work, reasonably priced and punctual! Everything done as stated. Would recommend !!
